Comments on "On The Street......Great Coat, Nolita"
Me no like. Not flattering at all, especially to physical shape.
oh, this is so cute. very clever and fun. love the closures (are they toggles?) and the length of the jacket, and the tone-on-tone of the sleeves is a great detail.
Maybe it's just that she is so lovely, but I MUST have that coat! Anyone know where it's from?
She's very beautiful. The cut of the coat, or perhaps how she's placed her arms, make it look as if it's a funky maternity piece.
Is it? It would explain her glow.
mltt
Very demure and sophisticated at the same time. You have been showing some great pre-Winter looks. Is it just me, or is this the season of the really cute coat?
Um ... sorry, what? I was distracted, gazing at this lovely young lady's face, and didn't notice the, well, unfortunate coat she's wearing. The coat combines the look of short sleeves (bad idea for a coat ... for anything other than a t-shirt, really) with bulbous 'puffy shoulders' (another bad idea reminiscient of those gosh-awful frocks we always see in Jane Austen movies).
Oh dear.
But she IS stunningly beautiful.
I can't believe people don't find this flattering. I think it's so totally beautiful!
Scott - I haven't a clue what she's wearing, so I am going to say you're 100% right on the clothes front... I am simply in love with her whole look. Totally in love....
I'm wanting to love this...but it's not happening. I usually love anything and everything with puff sleeves, but for me, I think it is the silhouette that doesn't seem flattering. Love the color, love the hardware, love the length, love the what seams to be creamy texture. Perhaps it is the sweatery sleeves that limit it's wearability. I don't know. I would love to see it from a different angle. The woman however could wear brown wrapping paper and look incredible.
The coat looks so beautiful, like new TSE or something. I love the Trompe L'oeil look!
She is lovely. Love the color. Love the closures. Know the puffy sleeve idea is no no no good. I do like the idea of knit sleeves with the boiled wool body--this would be perfect for out here in Portland (Pac NW) where we rarely need a super heavy coat or jacket.
I never did understand short sleeved coats and sweaters. She's gorgeous, though.
the colour is perfect, and the neutral palette looks good with her red bag. at first i thought it was a knit sweater underneath a short sleeved coat. i think it's ingenious for a pulled together casual look. i am so envious-- i want this coat! does anyone know who makes it? btw, this blog is the best!
I think it's just delightful, and as emnh said, PRETTY!
It could be unflattering to others, but truth of the matter is, we're looking at her. And it's lovely.
It's the same jacket as Mischa Barton wore in aspen, and it's from Alex Gaines
I like the colors of her coat.
It's a lovely detail! So pretty! Her face is beautiful too - serene.
I think she looks fantastic!!!
She is beautiful, but the coat is not. There is absolutely no shape to it! It's like she's wearing a wool "paper bag". If it would only come in a little on the sides or something... I agree that the sleeves are a fun touch.
I love the COAT!!!!!!!!!
is that elise crombez?
what an amazing design - I love suprise pieces like that.
anyone know who made this coat? She is beautiful too....
she is an editor for daily candy.
extremely cool alex gaines coat.
The word "love" is the first thing that comes to mind when looking at this LOVEly lady. She's beautiful. Like the person above, I didn't notice the coat until later. Her face just draws you in.
