I did a photo op like that where I live. It was this past "Black Friday" and it was quite entertaining watching and photogrpahing people stampeding into the mall at 6 AM!

Not living in a city as big as NY, I've never seen anything like that. That's wild.
Crazy consumerism! I don't enjoy the urge for showing brands like a necessary and urgent extension of personality. BUT Mr Jacobs has the divine power that few designers have, so to sucumb to the allure of his creations is just human...I have sucumbed to his black velvet lace shoes, and I could not pay 75% off.
Marc actually has a small section at the back of his store (in Soho) devoted to accessories (wallets, belts, socks, etc) that are priced extremely reasonably. You could buy a leather belt for about 30 dollars, albeit a generic-looking one. It's interesting that the store would do something like that - to give everyone a little experience of luxury a la MJ, maybe?
Not much style on that line. They look very sheepy actually. But to be fair, they're probably all skipping work.
