One Year Ago

I took this photo a year ago (the weekend before Thanksgiving) and it is one of my all time favorites.

This is my favorite of all your photographs. He's so handsome, and just has a peaceful demeanor. He reminds me of my uncles.

Ahh, this may be one of, if not the greatest pictures that you've ever taken. Where does this youngster reside? Kingston, the DR? I love the way the dark, worn look of this suit plays against the tropical background. The confidence. The no-nonsense look in his eyes. Excuse me, I've got to run to the store for more Red Stripe and Tops papers.

Love it...

Sartorial RAAAASTA- MAN!!!
Clearly a very confident man who is very comfortable in his own skin therefore the unusual and interesting combination of style here.

THANK YOU!

what a DUDE!
you should make this guy a regular in your blog, i would love to see what he comes up with on a regular basis.

Amazing hair, and most of all I admire the flair wit which he carries the combination off. For some reason, he looks to me like he was going to Sunday church.

nice postcolonial edge too. one one hand, the oppressor-man ticket pocket and suit vest look. on the other, the hair and skin tone. all put together with the hat, the locale, the calm peaceful expression.

love it, too ... great.

Life is short but fashion is...in the air itself. Or do I mean style?

I COULD say that here we have a mind-bending genre-mix (or have I just?), but instead I'll just sit back and...enjoy.

sartorial shaman!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:46 PM) :

wow
How "intense" look
terrific!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:29 PM) :

Love it, but I'm not so sure it's a tropical location. He's holding gloves and it looks like a conifer growing behind him.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:30 PM) :

ABSOLUTE GENIUS! SART, IT IS THE BEST PHOTO EVER TAKEN...EVER! AND THE SUBJECT HAS TO BE THE GREATEST PHOTOGRAPHIC SUBJECT THAT HAS EVER GRACED A PHOTOG'S LENS! OH. MY. GOD!

Come on people, it's a suit with a dread-locked man inside. Please.

Dad is that you?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:47 AM) :

I love you're blog and I read it as often that it is possible. This picture is my absolut favourite too. It's just marvellous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:16 AM) :

I'm in love with this picture - you'd never expect consistency with such a mix of styles and here - voila - is a mature man with dreadlocks and in a 3-piece suit. This is Style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:22 PM) :

I'm partial to dreadlocks so OF COURSE I think he looks like a "stunna"!

BTW, just an observation @ 11:05, who says he's a Rasta? The two don't go hand in hand.

(Dismounts soapbox to gaze at the distinguished dreadlock dandy...)
