Comments on "On The Street....The Zegna Exec., Manhattan"
Very nice look, it could have been even better with the special dual ties from Zegna previous collection, a must have for a men.
Perfect fit on the jacket. Notice the hand-rolled edges on the pocket square - that's the only way to do it!!
Not sure about the trousers to be honest. But the rest I like!
ASK and you SHALLL Reeceive!
Thank You Sar!.....love these pictures .......mu kind style .....love thepocket square detail .....with the brown edge picking up on the tie....I am a strong believer of the subtleties.
Again I would love to see a woman dressed in Kiton or Agnona....personally I would not know how to spot these designers on woman that is.
Thanks!
Soooo Zegna...
you 'accidentally bump into' far too many fashion insiders. i think you must ring them and say "hey fancy having your photo taken on the corner in five minutes?"
Clearly Zegna - notice the very little shoulder padding and the spread collar. The choice of fabrics and color are fantastic!
nice mix of patterns, however the tie/pocket square combo is a little too obvious colour-wise
typical zegna (meant in a good way)...italianate but lacks edge?
Zzzzzzzzz. Not bad, but fails to inspire anything, really.
He's hot. Is he married? Love the look!
My husband is a well-paid (for this part of the world, at any rate) professional. He has always bought one type of jeans (L.L.Bean) and one type of shoes (Rockport). He's had a grand total of two suits in the 20+ years we've been married, and he doesn't know what a pocket square is - I just asked him.
Needless to say this blog has been...an eye-opener. I'm truly astonished to discover how much there is to learn about men's fashion and how many people are interested in knowing it.
Hand-rolled edges? Spread collars? Man bags? Who knew?
To Herringbone kid
I was in the fashion business for 15 years so i know a lot of people.
This was the first time I had met Djordje and thought he looked great so I feel comfortable shooting this - I still find it very inspiring which is the whole idea of the site
I am 52 and my wife made the observation a year ago that when I wear plaid jackets, such as this gentleman, I look older and less "cool" than wearing a solid color jacket like navy, black or khaki. I think that when I was young these jackets really looked "smart" on me, but now at my age, I think she is right, they do seem to make me look more senior. I have noticed the same thing on other well dressed men of a certain age......unless they are blessed with very youthful genes.
all in fun Sart.
you're in an enviable position ;)
The jacket is gorgeous [would make a lovely suit], but I'm afraid the tie, both because of its fairly drab colors and mix of textures, kind of drags the outfit down. Zegna certainly makes some beautiful clothes, but when worn together as ensembles, they do tend towards a kind of successful suburban dentist look.
This is perfect. The fit of the jacket, the colors, the pocket square. And the confidence; he knows he's taken over the street.
I endorse.
I would hope that a big wig from Zegna would be able to get his jacket and shirt sleeves at the right length. From those to whom much has been given, much shall be expected.
Glad to see an actual pocket square folded properly. :)
Agree with anon 1:32 PM. I do find the convo about men "finding" style to be interesting. I do wonder if there's a "Dressing the Woman" book.
mltt
This is working oh so very well.
Love his look! But anon 11:06 has a point: What the heck is going on with his pants?? The pants aren't sitting right!! ... and someone, get an iron!
"and someone, get an iron!"
If you sit all day in a pair of trousers they do this thing called wrinkling. Unless you'd have the guy iron his pants every time he wanted to step outside the office.
Impeccable but slightly dull. Some Zegna has more flair.
Wow. He looks great. Just a hair shy of impeccable (his pants are pulled up a little too high for me).
So Italian! This man must be Italian as well!
-Philadelphia : )
Viva l'Italia e le Italinate....e meglio ancora le Italiane Bone.
Ciao
love everything but the trousers . . makes the rest of the "sophisticated" look cheap.
That jacket is such a perfect fit! But I'm a bit uneasy about the trousers/tie/pocket square combination. The brown and white horizontal effect of the admittedly exquisite pocket square is just too similar to the tie. A striped tie needs either a plain pocket square, or perhaps a rather flamboyant paisley print. I reckon those trousers are OK, although perhaps a bit too high-waisted. Having his hand in the pocket distorts the appearance. Knowing what to do with one's hands in a photograph has always been a problem for me, too!
