Comments on "On the Street.......Soho, London"
cool dude. did you ask him to turn his feet out that way? The picture is that much better for it.
Golly, who would've thought that the winter years ago back at the University of Iowa when I wore my white bucks that it would some day be all the rage in hip Soho....
Umm, I don't know. I hate to be negative for fear of being regarded un-hip.
Like the playfulness, but not sure the look is quite pulled together.
Would, in general, prefer less droopiness....
seems a little clown-ish . . . I see the direction but there's something not quite right here.
reminds me of how those guys in Trainspotting dressed.
what a handsome guy.
Let's be blunt and stir it up here: The pants are *awful*; they do absolutely nothing for him. This would be a great outfit to go have a root canal in, but then again, what did the dentist do to deserve seeing this!
Unique. He has a modern day Charlie Chaplin flavor with his body language and purposeful, disheveled style.
Do you know if that issue of GQ goes on sale in UK?
Asking from London...
Lets see how Londoners keep their shoes clean with all the rain they get....
Does this mean that with my two P-Zero pairs in white I am "in" for London? nice...
Can't say I like his dressing style though...pity
I'm glad you caught this fun look in London right now. I just returned from a week there and unfortunatly most men are still in a boring, block shouldered, boxy cut, solid navy suit with platapus toed black shoes and no pocket squares. Or, it was a hoodie and trainers. There are tons of cool designer clothes in the better stores, but I never saw them around town on guys on the street. By the way, don't miss Dover Street Market (perhaps the best trend men's and women's store in London, NY or SF).
nice composition. the figures in white to his left and right nicely triangulate with his white shoes. as for his look, the lower half is a tad bit clownish.
I like the idea...maybe if the look was a bit more refined (less 'poof' in the pants, more tailored along with the crazy colors).
just curious for an update. how are your APC jeans holding up? i am planning on buying a pair of my own soon.
good look for him. not something i will imitate, however.
not sure if this is a fashion statement or a desperate cry for attention. don't hate the shoes (don't love 'em either) but the pants are just awful.
after seeing the previous posts on people in milan or rome, i can't help thinking i prefer italian style.. in my humble opinion this one wants to be too hip to be really cool..
No one really does a trendspotting report of street style in the US (aside from The Sartorialist now) but the Japanese are maniacal about it. Men's Non-no magazine 's regular street style reports have featured white shoes as de rigeur on hipsters from London to New York to Tokyo for many years now, everything from white trainers to last year's big white Repetto dance shoes trend, which is only making it to NYC stores this season! While NYC is a fashion capital of the world, we aren't really as trendy as other cities where menswear is concerned.
just like the big black papa in harlem wearing the leopard print, only very few people can pull certain looks, this guy does well in this one... but most guys should not try this at home ....
Is that Kim Jones behind him? We can only see half his head, but I've spotted him down Old Compton Street before!
so so true. the white brogues and white plimsolls are back and all the rage, esp. the £5 ones off brick lane....they are to men what ankle boots (esp in red or white) are to women this season in london.
white shoes? What are you thinking?
sart, when did you take this picture? London does not seem to have started getting cold at all. Darn.
It's Ron Weasley with self esteem issues fixed!
nice fitting.
