On The Street.....Smokey Eyes

I rarely notice makeup (maybe that is the point) but this young lady had the most subtle smokey eyes. Just at the crease and corners of her eyes - just dramatic enough for day.

that scarf is really something too, it all coordinates, she could be in an old black and white movie, really lovely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:26 PM) :

Love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:17 PM) :

love the scarf, wonderful texture

Blogger kimber said ... (2:16 PM) :

The hair, the eyes, the scarf.... they compliment each other so beautifully.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:38 PM) :

now this is fashion with a strong point of view. she has a complete head-to-toe look that perfectly expresses who she is. well done.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:07 PM) :

love this comfortable look

and she seems to love it too

this is my favourite one that I've seen in a long time, I love how the boots don't hit the same place on her leg, and how she wears her scarf under her coat. But THAT HAIR, the hair just makes it 10x better. If she had long hair she'd look too bohemian/dark, the short hair compliments everything perfectly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:09 PM) :

She has captured the 1920's "flapper" silhouette to perfection.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:55 PM) :

Perfect. She exudes a 20's allure and charm that's fascinating, and has the right face.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:33 PM) :

thanks. that's how i wear my eyes... (or my eye makeup)

Sart, another great photo pair. Very nice put-together look. And I love the close-up. You always manage to capture such intensity in your portraits.

But, Sart, I'm looking real close at her eyes. To me it looks like natural light & shadow rather than super-subtle smokey eye. There have been times that I've been complemented for some subtle makeup effect, when in fact it was just natural light & shadow. Usually, I'll accept the complement and bask in the adulation of being considered a makeup virtuoso. In that situation, to you think it's wrong to not straighten out someone's mistaken complement? My own feeling is that any and all complements are always welcome, and there are more important ethical conundrums to worry about.

Whatever the case here, her face is stunning! You have a gift for making something special out of each photo you snap.

her coordination likes japanese girl.
simple cuty.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:23 PM) :

Is she of this world? Amazing pixie, yet very self-confident and individual too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:36 PM) :

WOW!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 AM) :

She's such a modern 1920's angel urchin. Pretty, pretty scarf!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:15 AM) :

She looks like she's not very interested in fashion. This, to me, is more a statement.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:59 AM) :

Really great picture! Lucky lady beeing capured!

she looks like a little owl.

For Stacy LA CA

I asked her about her makeup and she explained how she did it - I was going to ask to shoot her with her eyes closed but that felt a little weird to me so I didn't

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:52 AM) :

VERY sexy to have a hyper-stylized eye w. a bare face. I love the little bit of shine on her nose- it's like some kind of cyber-sheen.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:17 PM) :

Love the scarf. Adorable look.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (12:40 PM) :

Nice style

Blogger Deanna said ... (3:24 PM) :

She looks cute, I like the hair and the eye makeup. I feel like this is a really old fashioned thing to say, but I still find it a bit odd to see a warm cozy scarf for cold weather paired with bare legs. But that's "just me" I guess, and she has a cute look about her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:56 PM) :

This girl realy is just lovely.

Blogger 'signorina' said ... (6:04 PM) :

I am on a real John Hughes bender today: her whole outfit - clothes and makeup - make me think of Ally Sheedy in "The Breakfast Club".

I like it. That's an 80s-revisited look I can live with.

Blogger Anastasia said ... (9:20 PM) :

beautiful eyes! I love the textured scarf - she looks great!

Blogger Apotheosis said ... (9:33 PM) :

I think this whole thing is lovely, The out-fit and personal do (makeup and hair), come together you see her as a whole, very nice

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:20 AM) :

I just like the scarf.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:45 AM) :

she looks like gemma ward.

Blogger in defense of retail therapy said ... (12:50 PM) :

really just perfect. no one else would look as sharp as she does wearing this ensemble. the makeup and hair against her porcelain skin are truly striking. well done.

Blogger Claris said ... (1:14 PM) :

Stunningly beautiful...and the same goes for about your "eye", Sart.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:08 AM) :

second pic reminds me of a Keane painting from days-gone-buy....

...lovely..

girl...and photo.........

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:40 AM) :

Sart, I can't front - for a straight dude your knowledge of fashion, especially women's fashion and also make up is scary. Good scary, but scary nonetheless.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:04 AM) :

I REally like everything about her. The make-up the clothes and her bone strucher. She looks mystice and she inspieres me to that look!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:19 PM) :

She made me think of Björk (which is a good thing).. Anyways, she's really pretty. And the eye-makeup as well. But doesn't it make her look a bit tired? Or perhaps it's because of the fall. November has a bad habit of creating circles under people's eyes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:13 AM) :

FROM TOP TILL BOTTOM:
the hair, the eyes, the bag and the shoes... wow

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:14 AM) :

i want to learn to do do my eyes like that!!
sart i know it's not ur domain, but HELP!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:08 PM) :

She's got the face for it as well, that kind of makeup isn't exactly easily worn... Pretty!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:12 AM) :

I get this Faye Wong feeling by a Wong Kar-Wai's movie, Chungking Express. It must be the youthful hair that make her seem innocent, yet on a lookout.

Anonymous Hila Raz said ... (11:32 PM) :

I HAVE THIS SCARF!! and i think it is the perfect compliment to the smokey eyes because it captures the the grey scale hues and her raw gaze.

Blogger softlifer said ... (2:48 PM) :

I know this person :P She is my friend's older sister...actually I knew her in person too..she graduated 3 years before me from the high school I went to. Small world!
