Comments on "On The Street......Savile Row, London"
Wow! How is this fella not holding a loaf of french bread? Are you sure you were in London?
This is....original. No single element is particularly noteworthy, and it's all somewhat tentative, but the overall effect is pleasing.
Love the stone colour of the shirt and the little scarf. Are the trousers high-waisted or is he slightly short-waisted? Either way, looks good.
I loike this look.
Understated and classic.
I can see Lawrence Durrell wearing this back in the day.
Pants at the natural waist...finally!
Some things never change. He could also be right out of a Victorian novel-- a workman, or a gentleman rower.
This is a style you can not see here, in Spain, but it looks good.
Yikes. I don't know what else to say.
I love the little scarf at the neck. Can we long-necked men wear this? I will try it.
This gent looks fantastic; the only thing he'd need to really pull it together is better posture.
He seems to wish he was much older...
I like the overall look....well-groomed and well-dressed. :)
So what's going here.
Clearly very individualist style.
not crazy about it ...perhaps the colors could have been a little more deeper in contrast ...that could have added a little punch to it.
thx.
oh my god.
D H Lawrence.
This guy runs 'B store' on Saville Row, amazing place, the best designer store in London by a mile.
rolled-up sleeves on a man always makes me weak in the knees... :-)
I wouldn't/couldn't wear this because I'm truly a bit short waisted. I'll veer toward lower rise pants myself, but if you can pull it off, like this young man did, more power to you!! This goes to my endorsement of exploiting your own sense of style, which he does gracefully. He looks as if he should be smoking an unfiltered Pall Mall and carrying a tin lunch pail. What makes it a great look is the confidence in which he struts this outfit with.
Good job, youngster.
He reminds me of Nanni Moretti, the Italian film director/actor.
Can't believe no one mentioned the PLEATED pants. Yes it's a simple pleat (not Docker multiples) which gives the outfit an old-fashioned look. I can't get away with little neck scarves, so very French, but on me so very fey. In his hirsuteness, he can pull it off. I like the Little Grey Bird color palette too, and the little details which make a nice understated outfit.
the general consesus today is that pleated pants are faux pas, but this look is so well constructed that you just forget about that "rule". the detailing actually compliments the natural waist of this man.
absolutely charming!
brilliant
Ah- return of the neckerchief! Bravo!
Such a good look.
Love the scarf.
I'm just glad small belt buckles are coming back, unlike the gaudy oversized ones of today
isn't it possible to be stylish without looking like you're wearing a costume?
this would like fine in some places in the world but in london it makes him look like an out of work actor on way to audition.
This guy looks amazing.
Sartorialist, how long were his pants and what kind of shoes?
I'm guessing too-short pants and boots.
D H Lawrence?
nice pants!!
