Everything works together beautifully here--it's really a fine example of what an educated eye can achieve.
Nice tension too between big an bulky, and fine--see the earbud cord--with the Kiel's bag an (unconsciously) satiric and pleasingly feminizing touch.

A nice bit of change for this site. I'm not usually a huge fan of hip-hop style but this guy's is unique enough that I actually like it.
Did anyone notice that although the jeans are a bit baggy, they're not the usual urban fit? I like the way they hit the top of those sneaks.

Houston Street is pronounced the way it is because the man after whom the street was named, William Houstoun, pronounced his name that way.

it's funny bc i bought that Arab head scarf last year off a military website and started wearing it as a scarf, and some people looked at me like i was crazy. now as i wear it again this fall, i can't help but notice so many people wearing it on the street.

The scarf is good with the coat. I love the shoes.
When doing a coat with a functional hood I'd go with a trimmer cap and then pull the hood up when the elements demand it. The coat is already an attraction, save the nice cap for a plainer coat.
I see a lot of cords around on the subways. I think this pix argues for a black one, so your wiring doesn't become a part of your attire.

You guys adore anything Sart posts! WTF! Where's the dissenting opinion??? The guy looks ridiculous! It was probably 50+ degrees that day! What is sartorial about this? Quirky does not equal sartorial, even if he is wearing a scarf.(I just slammed the period key on my keyboard really hard)
Unfortunately, I have to agree with the last poster. There is nothing sartorial about this look but i think that it's more about the lifestyle (hiphop) on that picture and not so much about an elegant outfit. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I love your posts, Sart, and I guess I can take this post as a representation of or a look at today's hipster/hip-hopper fashion. After all, this guy managed to fit all the key elements of current young people's fashion. The creativity in hipster fashion is long dead…or swallowed by consumerism.
It's been cold in NYC this year. The outfit was probably completely appropriate for the weather.
So he's touching some trends. They're pulled together in an interesting way. He doesn't look like a played out LES fashion victim.
The scarf is called a keffiyeh. It is the traditional male Arab headdress.
And they are everywhere, on young men and women, even in this provincial town of eastern Scotland.
They look great, but every time I see one I want to stop the person and make sure they know what it means (support for Palestine liberation). A cause which I strongly support and hence have been wearing keffiyehs for years, far before their revival.
I like to wear a white and blue scarf when picking up that Soothing, Noorishing Cream for Men at Kiehl's to show support for the state of Israel.
