Gentle Giant , Fort Greene
Outside Williamsburg
For Alicia
Hipsters of Fort Greene
Cheerleaders of Brooklyn

I just want to come clean now before this gets out in the newspapers.

I admit I was not wearing a pocket square with my track suit!!!!!

The shame!

Hipsters of Fort Greene
- Looks like Nicole Ritchie in her more full bodied days.

Cheerleaders of Brooklyn
- Both of these ladies look wonderful. Love that gray overcoat.

There's something almost moving about this wonderful series: a window on the city, which is to say, its people, on a relaxed yet festive day.

To put it another way, life is short, but style is forever!

(But Scott, I trust you were showing the requisite amount of cuff....)

I love that you are shooting everywhere! These looks are classically hip!

Those Cheerleaders

Funny, I saw them on Sunday as I walked down Lafayette and stopped to catch up with an old coworker. I spoke and exchanged pleasantries with the tall one, actually. Now I'm upset that apparently I wasn't sartorially sufficient enough to garner a snapshot. LOL

All that said, I really do love a curly-haired woman.

Love the images, love the energy.
The clothes are a backflash to more "formal" times...that is what I like about fall.

those can't be hipsters. hipsters don't smile.

I want the Cheerleaders of Brooklyn to be my best friends.

big ups to brooklyn-- my hometown--yipee. excluding that. i loved the brown ensemble the most. it convinced that the layering of muted/neutral tones is not a faze, but a distinguishing trend of the decade.

gosh, i love these pictures. the entire series, plus the later photos posted above it, really capture the essence of what it is like to live in nyc. the thing that is so hard to grasp is the electricity, the undeniable buzz that defines the city, but together these shots give viewers a sense energy that makes the city so unique.

this vibrancy and diversity is the heartbeat of america. amercian readers, please go out today and vote as if your life depended on it.

oh lord! that brown trench is perfect!!! and i love her ballet flats

I love the cheerleaders of Brooklyn - both of them look so well put together. They have both, individualy, put together outfits that are completely coherent, with each part hitting a similar note - but yet they feel no need to look at all like each other, which is the most awesome part about it.

so many beautiful woman of mixed parentage, i like that..... they're striking....
the older waspy couple outside tiffany is lovely too.....

You caught a great group of folks out to cheer you on!

I love the gentle giant. He stands out in a crowd. The woman with the warm brown coat is wonderful. The skinny pants look nice with the coat.

The cheerleaders are sweet. Notice the belted coat with the carriers. Her belt won't be riding up over her tummy making her look fat!

Every person here belongs.

I love this 2nd picture. Who is this girl? I want to be this girl!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:08 PM) :

The gentle giant and the cheerleaders are beautiful. And it was a beautiful day all around. Thank you Sart. Even if you did forget the pocket square ;).

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:13 PM) :

why do brooklyn girls all look the same?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:35 PM) :

I love the girl in the 2nd picture. Her outfit looks really stylish yet comfortable. She's got this whole brown palette-thing going on, but I like it...especially her flats, which I think are from Tory Burch.

Gentle Giant of Fort Greene

For the slightest minute there, I thought this gent had something to do with the Big Apple Chorus seeing as the pin stripes are equal to a costume the chorus wore once for a performance...Either way, both sides come off as refreshing.

And I agree with tamberk up there. It's interesting how you can compare and contrast the differances of people from all walks of life (and of course, with style taken into consideration) in each NY neighborhood when we're all just "one city." That's one reason why I love The Big Apple. :)

marathon pics are your best yet.

by far.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:01 PM) :

The question is... Would I really feel honored if someone were to walk around with a t-shirt saying "In Memory of H" after my demise?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:58 AM) :

Hi! Does anyone know where can I find the hipsters (girl's) boots? Please! I love them!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:22 AM) :

I love the Brooklyn Cheerleaders. They seem like so much fun and they are so beautiful. Bravo!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:53 AM) :

J'adore toutes ces photos, chacune est émouvante, touchante et belle !!! Et ^plus haut, j'apprécie vraiment le couple de personnes âgées si élégantes !!! Merci pour toutes ces vues si humaines de New-York !!!

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (8:48 AM) :

This is nothing to do with clothes, but just LOOK at those gas prices! Here, (Southern California) the prices are still 2.71 for top grade gas.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:06 PM) :

the flats the "outside williamsburg" girl is wearing, does anyone know what brand they are???
