Comments on "Only Carine, Milano"
How fragile C. Roitfeld looks! Very innocent in the best, childlike way.
What a lovely top. Is it white and black, or has the material been punched out or laser cut?
How does Carine always manage to look modern and fresh? My mother never looks like this.
the top was laser-cut leather
It looks like a tuptop over a t-shirt, brilliant!
She is adorable
Kisses from sweden
Carine is amazing, and I love that she smiles and laughs a lot, she seems to be sort of "bubbly" . Love her style, she´s a true fashion icon!
laser-cut leather - nice execution. she looks very chic. she knows how to pull it off (obviously). no fancy hair, accessorie overload - she know's it's all about the bustier/belt.
Cute and pretty. I would love to take her to the ristorante in the background. -JCH
azzedine alaia - punched out belts and corsets. he started making these back in the late 80's
Yes! Love the "bustier" over the T...
how cute! her top looks great!!
we love Carine!!
Kate Moss wore it in black during New York Fashion Week!
Proving once again that a lovely girl can get away with almost anything. What is that, a skirt, top and tee shirt? Or a dress over a tee shirt? Or something else. The skirt and top would look great alone--the tee shirt conveys a false modesty...
Kate Moss wore the same laser cut bustier -in black- at NY Fashion Week. I love how Carine wears it in white over the casual grey T.
Thanks Sarto! Roitfeld is my style queen.
The top is absolutely cute. Is it two peices? I love this look. She looks amazing.
Didn't Kate Moss wear that belt in black att the Another Magazine party?
she is so fabulous and effortless.
man i love her so friggin much
kate moss wore that leather belt thig in black to the aother magazine party in nyc..wonder where it's from
it's vintage alaia, isn't it?
I think Carine looks really great in this photo, as she has looked less than great in many other photos I have seen. The bustier is beautiful but I really don't think it works over that grey frumpy tee (at all). I expect more from her. You wouldn't catch Anna in an outfit like that!
Dear Sart-
Love your site. Fantastic photography, making fashion fun and interesting intead of commercial and snobbish. And, of course, you're a fantastic photographer.
I LOVE Roitfeld's style. She has a brilliant eye for the modern, the original and the flattering.
But why oh why are all fashions suitable only for flat chested girls? As a slim naturaly size D, my only fashion option seems to be vulgur playboy outfits. Not everyone who's curvy wants to look cheap!
Such a cool take on layering. And I love the shot - she looks so happy, I can't believe she's 50.
i love CARINE!!! she's one of my style icons. and i love that she looks so bubbly and cute here. not so fierce
Carine is always brilliantly dressed and styled! I love her style and love what she does with French Vogue! Vive Carine!
As beautiful as ever...but her stance is so fragile...
While she is lovely, the white bustier does nothing for her, and the creases in the t-shirt above the bustier are terrible... not flattering at all.
That's an Alaia corset/belt and it is amazing and she looks incredible!!!
Does anyone know if Azzedine is showing a collection this week in Paris? I know he usually doesn't do a show, but hope springs eternal....
nice one, but i thought, her t-shirt could be a wee bit more tight fit to flatter her figure
I love that Azzedine Alaia belt / bustier that she threw over a Tshirt. Quelle chic!
Reminds me of a dress Jennifer Aniston wore, she however wore it with a beige pencil skirt, Roitfelds take on the style is much more pleasing!
Sarah again
kisses from sweden
Love her
Love the whole look here
It's a wonderful look , the colors are vibrant and she has such a great smile ... she looks fantastic for 60 years old
I can't believe you got Carine!
Withthat fragile corset, she rules.
i have been so obsessed with getting a corset like that ever since i saw the black one on kate.
any suggestions? from anyone?
She is great! Lovely! Kisses from Argentina!
So cute! And yet still Carine-rockin'!
Such a cute top , love the leather layered over everything else ... she can't be 58 years old !!! she looks great
awesome look , love the smile and the clothes are exquisite
Interesting--I think several of the comments point to why the "pigeon-toes" stance is so commonly affected by women in these photos. You can tell that Roitfeld is standing pigeon-toed herself, even though we can't see her feet. And the comments note that she looks "innocent", "childlike", "fragile", etc. I think it is a way for women to convey a sense of girlishness/playfulness, not to mention youthfulness, even when they are dressed to kill wearing 4-inch heels! Just my opinion, of course.
You must have left London because this woman could only exist in Paris: simple, chic, ladylike, nothing freakish or costumelike.
Love the cinching at the waist and the casualness of the tshirt...

Re: Dear Andrew,
Speaking for all of us - May I? May I? - who like to think of ourselves as simple, chic, ladylike, neither freakish (God forbid) nor particularly costumelike on a good day: We do not exist in Paris only. Nor do we exist only in Milan. There, that's out of my system now. I know you only meant well.
That gray t-shirt is so ill-fitted that it blousons itself, thus rendering the spectacular white bustier officially squelched.
Carine Roitfeld can dress not wrong----. I just want to sing: "She's got it, yeah baby, she's got it..."
I really appreciate your snaps of these stylishly eloquent dressers. Where I live, such people are seen maybe once every four years. I'm especially happy you post shots of women of a certain age---like C.R. Checking your site is a free education in clothing style----Who needs world travel or a $20.00 Vogue Italia? Thank you for making the web world a more beautiful space.
finalmente un sito con belle facce, bei vestiti, e gusto raffinato nel portamento, e non squallide foto fatte in casa con racchiette per modelle come si vede in altri siti !!s....Simili.....vd .GLAMUR
