Comments on "On The Street......15th Street, New York"
hmm, i don't know, not much good about 80's looks.
Yay for color! I agree, black hose would have been too easy and expected. That shot of ultraviolet totally pops, compliments her printed bag (love) and her high heel combat boots.
I am so happy to have you back in NYC! The fashionistas are incredible and inspiring, but I prefer
the off-the-cuff effortlessness of the anonymous nyc streets! I don't know what I did every morning before your blog!
The blue of the tights highlights the rest of her outfit - the coat detail and her boots! Love her scarf too.
This reminds me a lot of some of the looks in Paris at the moment (via Facehunter) with the bright tights. I agree--black would have been too predictable. The bright purple is just enough standout-perfect.
my sister-in-law has always dressed exactly this way and i always thought she looked slightly mad -- lovable, but not quite sane. seeing it through your eyes -- or maybe just seeing it after reading your blog for awhile now -- makes it look so charming and yes, stylish. sorry, deborah! what was i thinking?
Color-shot tights are my favorite way to buck corporate.
Yikes! The 80's are back!
That is so hot. I love all of these amorphous coats you've been snapping.
Hmm. I have been looking for a distinctive and fun way to wear tights, a decidedly horrendous fashion item however usefull in transitioning summer fashions into fall. I think this is a grreat idea. A subtly patterned tight would also be adorable.
what a stand out - love it!
Yes! The blue tights are a perfect popping shock of color here, and to me not retro at all! Well done, Sart! And if you look closely, rafe, you'll see that they're not combat boots at all... unless our soldiers in Iraq are wearing fashionable high-heeled lace-up boots!!
I think Rafe meant it was a combat boot style, stacy - considering no combat boots are ever high-heeled, as he pointed out! Plus you can see the threaded lug sole underneath.
I've always liked colored tights, and purple is a hot color for fall. Was she trying to stay incognito by turning away from the camera? She shouldn't - she looks cool.
