Comments on "Good To Be Back In New York, Lower Eastside"
i love it she took the whole balenciaga look for fall and turned it on its head making it appear, throwaway, light and effortless - rather than contrived and stiff!
home again, home again...
Cute, Elegant, and Fresh!
i dont care what you think about that bow, this woman is hot.
Maybe if there waere a small slither of color added to make it pop more.. but whatever. I like this outfit. Would wear.. And the riding cap especially makes me all giddy...
That's very cute! Her pale legs set the whole thing off, I think.
Meanwhile, is that the first example of someone transferring Balenciaga's riding helmet into something a) affordable and b) streetwise?
Hats off to this lady (pun intended).
Very sexy!
She looks like the model Cecilia Mendez! Anyway I love her outfit. She shows off her long legs but with the discreet flats downplays them. Also I like the balance of the comfy cardigan and dressy velvet (?) skirt. I gather that is a sweater under the cardigan, but I like that the sweaters don't match--the twinset effect without a twinset.
What I like in this image reminds me of something Yohji Yamamoto says in the Wim Wenders-directed film about him: he admires the clothes in the photographs of August Sander (German, mid-20th-century) because they seem inseparable from the people who wear them (schoolgirls, butchers, policemen etc.). I think I look for the opposite effect: for people who have separate lives from their clothes and clothes that have meanings of their own.
The grey and black are so simple...but the details, like the hat, make it perfect.
I'm actually surprised that this is a New York look--I was sure this was a fabulous Paris lady! She definitely has elements of the style you photographed in Paris: it's muted, sleek, and beautiful.
Those loooong legs are like 60% of her outfit. The riding cap looks so nice on her. It requires a very balanced composition to make the cap "believable"...She made it.
just fabulous. welcome home, sart. so nice to have you back here on the sidewalks of new york.
The hat is great, more then a dacade ago the milinar Tracy Tucker on the upper east side offered quilted versions that were always sold out. Although I assume that this is of most recent vintage. Viewed from London.
Great style. I agree that it looks like Balanciaga translated into everyday style.
question,
why didn't/don't you go to miami's fashion week?
cute outfit!
I love her look...!
