On The Street......26th St. Flea Market, Chelsea

The flea markets never let me down. I thought this young lady looked really cool and she has great hair

After I took the photo I felt I should have asked her to straighten her jacket but then again the nonchalance in which she wears the vintage jacket is part of her charm.

Actually, I believe that jacket is Urban Outfitters.. http://www.urbanoutfitters.co.uk/invt/5115416689080&bklist=icat,4,shop,womens,wcoats#
But I completely agree about the nonchalance adding to her charm.

love the jacket...been trying to find one like that. i would have never picked that color for the chloe saddle bag but she wears it well!!!

Hey maybe your right

I didn't ask her but it looked very vintage

good eye!

I love the shoes! Beautiful...they make up for the leggings :D

Blogger Teri said ... (7:50 PM) :

yI love the bag. The leggings and that shoes go well on her. That's amazing. She does have good hair as you said.

Elise, thanks for supplying the link. It's hard to find pieces like that anymore in vintage stores. I'm not sure about the boots. The cuff is too wide and makes her look like she's trying too hard to be nonchalant. Or, Sienna Miller on a bad, "what was she thinking" day. But I like everything else above the ankles.

hmmmm, i think this lady is beautiful...but in those shoes all i could think was "The Cat In Boots"...

i'm liking the new shallow depth of field on these pictures

yeah, that's the urban outfitters coat, i just bought one yesterday! i love it to bits.

I need to know where her bag is from!

more evidence of the growing tyranny of the black leggings.

Jacket is great- love the color. The shoes--- not so much.

alexandra-

the bag is the chloe paddington saddle.. it's almost impossible to find an authentic one anymore-- i've been looking for one for a few months now!

Urm... what flea markets?

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:29 PM) :

I seem to remember discussion this Spring on your blog about whether the celeb shades were just a fad. This woman really pulls the big sunglasses look off. And I love the fact that her outfit is stylish without being gimmicky.

A delicious look. I've been dropping subtle hints to my girlfriend that this green jacket offering from Urban Outfitters is a Fall-must. Unfortunately, she seems unconvinced and classifies it as a Fall-must-not. Undaunted, my efforts at persuasion will continue!

Blogger hoi polloi said ... (1:46 PM) :

Sorry to all of you who don't like the shoes, but ankle boots are gonna be big for fall. Especially twee peter pan elfin ones :p

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:18 PM) :

Glad to hear it. I absolutely love the boots.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:52 PM) :

no, not against her wearing ankle boots per se, but the TYPE of ankle boots she chose to wear. She needed to have found a pair without such a wide cuff. They look dorky/clumsy against her bare ankle line, especially.

John, you have such good taste! I love the jacket too. It's not so expensive either. Why don't you buy it for her? Or for me instead... Heh.

I wish leggings weren't in. They always make a woman's legs look shorter and stumpier, and the woman usually ends up wearing longer tops to cover the "legging butt" that invariably results, which produces a weird silhouette (superlong torso + short legs). Can't wait for this trend to go away.
