At the Tents.......Robert Burke
Robert always looks great.
His shirts fit perfectly with his initials very discreetly monogramed in red on the front. I asked him why he did this and he said it was to keep me from trying to steal his shirts from his dry cleaner.
I have an idea, if we all mail Robert one dollar maybe he will tell me the location of his secret shirt tailor outside Milan.

I love your photographs. So well lit, clear, and intimate. Their expressions look pleased to pose for you.. except for Hamish Bowles who looks like he's about to tell you to bugger off!
He looks great but where is the cuff? Should be some showing.
great, he looks stunning. and your certainly doesn't detract.

I think he looks great as well but I am also surprised there's no mention of no cuff showing...
Here's a good example of the way a shirt collar--it's shape--can flatter a face....
Where do we send the dollar? : ) We love you Sart!
I'm sorry but the no cuff showing is my concern as well.....so where are the initials sewn?
He has a very well put together work suit.....what color are his shoes ....hopefully there is some pizzazz there....no too much though...
Love the round frames...proportionate and consistent with the rest of his facial features.
This is a fantastic picture!
he looks great but he always looks the same--like some elderly banker. come on, a little variation please.
stunning suit!
An aside: Bryant Park is such a wonderful, rich backdrop to many of your photos. Love it!
To my mind Robert is consistantly impeccable. OK..he can look like a banker at quick glance perhaps. Though to look at him, for a moment more, you gleen that this is a person who could only be an arbitor of taste,(not that bankers can't be arbitors of taste too..but really now..)
If only bankers really did dress more like Robert Burke. What a lovely thought. Hmmm
What we're seeing in this post, is a front row executive at the tents in business mode. His formality is tremendously respectful and appropriate, as well as representitive of a dressier more polished trend for men.
Scott, congrats on the little mention of the Sartorialist in Cathy Horyn's piece in today's New York Times!
Every style rule would tell him to get - wit that round face - rectangular glasses, but he does just the opposite. And it looks great, gives him a really individual look. Another example for that rules are fine as general guidelines but are always beaten by the "Looks Good"-rule.
I think he may have chosen not to show the cuffs because his intention was to allow the pinstriped suit do its job of creating a taller look. The cuffs, forming a powerful triangle with matching collar and pocket square, would have broken the pinstripe pattern. With the cuffs, he would look like a banker. Without cuffs, his look is still elegant, but less business-like.
