Comments on "At The Tents.......Pink Shoes"
The Lacoste bag with croc also provides leavening...but not sure it's a real go....
looks pretty good- dark denims can take a bit of colour. jude law has been wearing a great pair of red/burgundy shoes recently kind of a similar look
This is cool. I was really impressed by a version of this look, also worn by a young Japanese guy, strolling round the Guggenheim in Bilbao - plain black cropped pants, plain black T-shirt and yellow plimsolls. He had really stood back and planned himself as a walking work of art, and this guy seems to have too.
If you described this look, I wouldn't be interested. But looking at the photo, it works for him. (Where do you even buy these pale pink shoes?)
he's killing it with that bag.
...and by killing it i mean making it great
Sartorialist,
Not a trad update. How dare you!
The Lacoste bag "explains" the shoes. When you see the bag, you think, "Well, of course! Of course he has pink shoes!" I don't mean this in a negative way...I mean that the bag gives him license, it answers the riddle and, as Butch said, it provides levity.
So we really say Asiatic now? Or just Asian? :)
I think the massive Lacoste logo is a riot. The whole thing looks a little clownish, though. Pink shoes or gator. Gotta choose.
Like everything but the Lacoste bag. I'm just not a fan of the oversize logo-- same goes for the huge Polo logo's these days.
But the shoes are very nice.
i love hwo whimsical it is .. the alligator bag and pink shoes. this man put his personality at hte forefront of his outfit while being clean, polished, adn sticking to current trneds in fashion. ---colr is always good.. adn i have noticed many korean men love pink.. i she korean? i think in Korea it isn't considered as feminine.
The shoes seem to call out "Spring 2005", at least to me. That season I recall Alexander McQueen offering a pink ballet slipper for men and Comme des Garcons strucking out pink sneakers. I applaud any attempt to incorporate David Hockney-ish bold colors into a look, and to saunter around Bryant Park. Interestingly, I think the incredibly gauche bag works because of the shoes. If you're going to overbling and hyper-brand on your bag, don't hold back. Le petit alligator français is afterall a fashion icon.
So playful!
In the midst of so many serious fashion worshippers this guy might be a light breeze.
The bag was a gift from the Lacoste show.
Mmmm, those shoes make me want to eat a pink cupcake. I LOVE them!
I love those pink shoes. Brilliant.
I'd wear those shoes.
I love the shoes.
I like the shoes. But overall? Dont think so.
the shoes are repettos, maybe? this man has a sweetness and sly sense of humor about him that is very appealing. on him, it all looks very natural and unforced.
Sart is right. He "took it to a new place." (the look)
I'm not sure what place it is, but it's a new place. I am not sold on it yet, but am intrigued by what else must be in his closet! We must see more.
And what does a man who wears pink shoes do for a living? Do you think someone tried to talk him out of the pink shoes that morning? Did anyone make fun of his pink shoes that day? I hope not, becuase they are fun and different and I admire his sense of fashion adventure.
Is Asiatic the new Asian? Everybody bought this tote.
you shot a Teen Voguer with the same bag the other day, and it seemed overwhelming on her in a kind of cute way, but I like it better in this context.
Burgundy is one thing, but pink? I don't know... It wouldn't suit me for sure...on him? I still got doubts...
no, the pink shoes don't work at all. ick!
hah! i think they are great! never seen pink shoes like that before! love 'em!
asian or asiatic i don't see how it really matters. but asian is easier to pronounce ya? =P
as for the guy in the pic. cute shoes! men should wear pink more often. as for the bag ... is it authentic lacoste d'you think?
trouser waist too low
What I really want to know is...did you wear the Ralph Lauren suit? Did Anderson Cooper wear his. Was there a showdown?
what socks do you wear with the pink shoes? (next time, they should just attach a small bag to the 'gator, instead of the other way around.)
Must agree with one of the other Anonymous' above. This is absolutely not Trad.
This man, Mr. Hwang, is quite famous as a TV host and fashion PR professional.
If the tote was a *gift* from a show, that changes everything. That makes it a situational fashion statement and a status symbol.
NOW I love the bag!!!
the shoes are
a ma zing
Interesting...
ENID P.
Lovely~~
He is not japanese
He is a Korean, a famous stylish guy in south Korea.
That's so cute, aren't you? ^^
LOVE it! not a fan of the bag, but clearly he didn't plan it as a part of his outfit, since it was a show gift. but other than that - it's fashion perfection.
He is a Korean!
You are so wonderful.
You are same as above man!
I'm proud of him...and
I'm very proud of being one of the
Korean.
I love his jacket and that bag is hilarious. I want it!
omgg what is up with people and not liking the whole bag idea.. ? it's soo cool ... I'm curious, is the bag just too much , or simply says gay across the forehead? i mean guys are able to pull off bags, we don't have to be a different sex gender to do so .. i'm loving the bag love the look very played out .. turned everything to a magnificent casual look
Ilove he.
He is nice.
pink shoes is very good~~!!!
love the bag and the shoes, it shows a sense of humour, a guy who doesnt take himself nor fashion too seriously
Its like he's referencing wasp preppy in a humorous way
good
his name is ee-kun.hwang ! i know him. he is fashionistar in korea
