The long dark haired lady looks runway ready. Understated and very Calvin Klein-y.
The second lady, it's hard to see the lines of her clothing... maybe the background is too dark and blends with her dress? I do like the hair though.

I love the cut of the shirt in the first picture.
I almost picked up an old Bill Blass dress, same color, wool but passed because I was unsure of the cut.
It was only $3 though.

Love the sleeves of the grey blouse in first photo. Beautiful.
The delicateness of the sleeves makes me refer to this as a blouse. Otherwise I'd just call it a shirt. This detail transforms it for me.
Argh! Where did she get that beautiful gray blouse with the flowing sleeves? Quelle belle!

I love the ensemble in the top photo--the belt and the simple neckline and cuffless wrist seem to balance each other out. Minimalism and romance, formality and comfort, very nice, and nice calm mood in the photo. So many of your subjects look totally relaxed.

loooove their hair! The mane makes a statement in those two women: flowing and very personal. The shirt of the first woman is interesting. But the hair is whats says here who they are.

?? The first one looks nice (although a shorter haircut would look better) but why did you photograph the 2nd one? i don't see any sartorialistic comment...
I love the belt. I've already gotten so sick of that huge patent leather Fendi buckle, so it's nice to see something that's pronounced but not as vulgar.
The puffy sleeves look good on her. I wish they didn't look so silly on me. Oh well.
I can't really see what the girl in the second pic is wearing because it' black. The top in the first one is really nice, though.

Great shots...not so great outfits
These are lovely pictures. In the top photo the color & texture of the top, the neckline & sleeves, the belt color & buckle, the skirt and her hair are all so simple and pull together nicely.
The second women..who is she? She looks very familiar or maybe it is because she looks approachable and comfortable with herself.
i acutally absolutely adore the second lady. she has an air of sophistication, elegance, and extreme intelligence that is characterized but not overpowered by her ensemble.
I love the first outfit...just wish I could pull it off.
There's a discount chain store selling the bell-sleeved blouse in a delicate dove gray and a sultry steely blue for less than $30. I passed on it yesterday because I couldn't imagine it on. I'll be going back tomorrow.

I thought the second woman might be the woman in the yellow dress/coat and black tights from the other day, but I may be totally wrong.
I think the first outfit is lovely. I'm sure the second is lovely, too, but it's hard to see in the photo. I would like to get them both haircuts, though!
And please, I beg you, don't do a Williamsburg photoshoot. I'm sure there are some really original people still there, but the vast majority are not.

I disagree about the need for hair cuts. What is up with wanting to see the same hair style in different women?. This women work in the fashion industry and they have fantastic, sexy hair!(Cues that they don't need a hair cut). Who's hair would be appropriate?

The gray shirt is very nice but shows pull lines that make it looks like it doesn't exactly fit and this detracts from it's appearance.
As a young twenty-something man, I am fascinated with your pictures of ladies "of a certain age." I'm glad you've been taking more pictures.
As someone who grew up in a California suburb (and even now as I live and work in L.A.), I am surrounded with "trendy" and youth-oriented women's styles. The post-modern aimlesness and disposability of it all was burning me out. Your site is one of the few places where I can see women with personal style that are proud of their wealth of experience. It's inspiring! KEEP IT UP!

I think both are attractive women, but their hair is not so fantastic. The first one has thin hair and the second needs some layering to accentuate the curl. No one said anything about giving them the same haircut.
(This is addressed to the person who is defending their hair.)

That first woman is amazing. Love that sleeve. I tried the Marc version on but it just didn't fit at all. Someone wrote that they saw that sleeve in a discount store: which one?

Sartorialist, please don't forget to keep shooting 'regular' stylish people, too. The show and fashion people are fine, but what I love most about your site is your eye on the everyday folk who stand out on the street. They are what distinguish you from just being a(nother) mag.
