in one of my former lives I was a prep cook. I always thought it was a matter of time before chef's uniforms became a trend. I can see the coat more fitted (naru-like) over slim black and white checked pants... it's a crisp combination. I like how this guy casually cuffed his pants - that's about as stylish as you can get in a kitchen (besides a red scarf & chef hat).

That brings me back to my culinary school days. I always liked those jackets.

I also really do not like the haricut. He could look much better with an other hairstyle I think.

He looks like a member of a New Wave band circa 1986, London... Great look!

rolled up pants! I like it a lot especially with the length of the roll, the sock length and the shoes working together.

I agree with Ken... very London and very cool.

i love this guy -- he looks like a real character -- the cuffs, the socks, the shoes, and the coif are all very fun-loving, with a dash of mischief to them. i think that perhaps his haircut wouldn't work on any other color, but his is right for it.

No worries about getting them dirty. Those are white color of the rubber Crocs shoes. If he gets anything on them, he just runs them under a faucet.

The chef coat definitely has a peculiar fancy plus working-class look to it. I could easily see a designer switch out the restaurant name embroidered on the chest for the brand name, tighten the fit on the jacket, and swap in military-style rounded buttons to make a great jacket piece.

they both look like jovial badasses with fashion attitude.

I don't get this one. He's a cook, this is his uniform. What about this is so fetching? Are you taking photos of Fedex guys next? Hmmmm...

try looking at his hair!!

The fact that he is in the exact same uniform as all the other guys and is still able to express a personal sense style through just his haircut is pretty cool. I should try and find this guy again and see if he feels that his hair style is reflective of his cooking style. I would imagine bright, intense, dramatic flavors. He is a Union Square Cafe which is one of the top spots in town so whatever he is doing must be working for him
