Comments on "On The Street.....This Is Effortless Chic!, New York"
oasis. yes.
After all, you're my wonderwall. . .
Well, it certainly is effortless...
(Big fan of your site; sorry that my first comment is a somewhat snarky one.)
HELLO!!! Effortless chic? He's wrapped a scarf around his outfit ... big deal! 1/2 the kids in america are dressed like this minus the scarf ...
HELLO!!!!
he has a sweater around his shoulders in a way I never see American kids do
it is the mix of the Euro sweater wrap and American jeans outfit that I find charming
hmm..oasis..how ironic...
I love your site but this time I'm just not seeing it. It neither looks effortless nor chic in my opinion.
I wonder if it's the hair that gives it the extra something. Wait, it IS the hair.
argentinian style
for sure
This is in New York? It looks European.
though i have always been on the blur side of things, i must admit, he is very pretty. and yes, the way he wears his sweater is quite uncommon amongst american kids. most of those who try end up looking pretentious, and that certainly isn't the case here.
he looks like Ivan Sergei!
That guy looks exactly like a guy I went to school with. How scary. I wonder if it's him.
Love the colours!
I love the way he's worn the scarf around his neck- it's one little detail that just makes the outfit for me, no matter what others might think.
The other detail is the fact of his having excellent taste in music, and being proud of it- if I had to pick a band shirt to wear, Oasis would be it.
Efortless yes. Chic...jury is still out on that one.
It's very NOT Oasis to have the sweater like that.
you're sure you didn't take this picture in buenos aires?
Sart,
what's mory up to these days? how about kiton or domenico vacca window shot?
Sorry Scott - a disaster. Chuck a brick at a UK airport and you'll hit two dozen like this. Anyway, 'Oasis' are very last Millenium... Nothing fresh here.
Irish eyes
Sorry I don't live in London so I don't see many ,no any, American teenagers dressed like this- they don't do their sweaters like that and sometimes my photos are not about an entire outfit but about one element.
I love the fact that my audience is very international but don't forget that even though it is common in your area it may not be in Norway or Ohio or Japan
I like his style -alot.
But Oasis?! Puh-lease....
Scott - I stand corrected. Fair play to you. I couldn't agree more. Apologies.
I'm sorry about the negative comments of late, but there is a difference between 'good looking' and 'well dressed'. I thought it was the latter which earned you a place on this site, but maybe not...
I love these just rolled out of bed but still look chic boys. and look at that face!
Style is what earns you a spot here and Style doesn't have to be dressed-up
again this was about the how of the sweater - don't take everything so literally, let yourself be inspired by nuance
Is this a recent photo? Isn't it a tad too warm in NYC to be wearing a scarf these days?
it has been unusually cool the last few days in Manhattan but i often find that tourist think it will be much cooler here than it really is - I'm sure the sweater was gone by noon
Mariano is right. He's definitely Argentine. They sure do make them purty there--men and women--and the men achieve an effortless chic, always with the sweater wrapped around the shoulders and otherwise very casual clothes. I can't wait to go back.
Looks too young to have given it any thought, so I certainly agree with "effortless." Would love to follow his fashion for a few years and see how it evolves. DC is so uptight-- and too many still wear size XXXL-- sigh... oh, to live in New York... David
it looks effortless, certainly, but that's probably influenced by his nicely chiseled face. i like how he has this sweater wrapped around his neck, because this adds the classic look. without it, he'd look plain casual, like a skater's style.
that kid's got style; no kid around where i live dresses like that.
if he takes one step that sweater sleeve is gonna fall down and he'll have to keep swinging it back like that. but eventually he's going to end up throwing it around his neck like most americans do and for very a practical reason.
noel gallagher wouldnt have been fond of this look. haha!
Thank you for your comments....but i am not Argentinian, i am Spanish...
