On The Street.....Perfect Summer In The City, Nolita
I really loved this young woman's look.
The muted dark teal/brown color combo is very sophisticated - I know it may not show-up in the photograph very well but her bra strap was a great shade of lavender which worked with the top wonderfully. The shorts are not too long or too short and yet they really highlight her legs.
It is hard to see but she also has a Miu Miu pin on her top just under her hand - all of this together gave her a very Marni-esque look, and who doesn't want that! Again, I don't think she spent a ton of money on this outfit but the right accessories really pull it all together.
Finally, I have to admit that she scored a few extra points because she knew all about The Sartorialist and loves the blog - I have some pretty cool readers!

I have problems with underwear of any sort showing, and no playing any role in the outfit. There is the very "american"role : bathing suit as an undergarment.
I have not understood that idea when in a concrete jungle. I can not tell if this is this type of example.
I really like this look - the top, the cute short, the slides. It is very Marni, with the smock-like top. And what beautifully tanned legs, too!
Cute look. Although I think only a really skinny girl could pull of the unstructed look... it would make most people look frumpy!
she looks pretty and perfect outfit for the heat
A very easy casual look, can be easily pulled off by most folks. I love the play of colors. The blue goyard, the lovely pin, the printed slides and those sunglasses- it really is all about the accessories here.
Really like it. Marni is my favourite, so great connection there. She's seems very comfortable and it's a sexy casual look that doesn't scream 'look at me!'
What a beautiful girl; she has the face of an angel. I also love the cut of the shorts. Two years ago this short would have been considered a suburban, midwestern, preppy (think L.L. Bean) fit, but now, on a modern young woman who is thin, tanned, and who knows how to put things together in a slightly unexpected way, it screams "now!"
the girl is really awesome and i love the whole post as well :-)
to be comfortable is to be sexy. this is that perfect example.
looks very relaxed and cute....
I'm amazed that this is considered fashion, especially compared to some of the great looks that other people on the site have. IMO, her top looks like a very typical Old Navy style which does nothing for her slim figure and her bra strap looks like she just didn't plan her outfit very well.
What's with the shapeless burlap sack for a top? That look has got to go.
she looks like ashley judd - and i love the goyard bag!
I agree with lit. The biggest turn off for me is when people look like they've obsessed for hours, desperate to make bigger/louder/whatever fashion choices then their friends.
She looks great!
I don't know anything about clothing or style, but I know that she is absolutely gorgeous.
A great outfit like this is always a result of careful calculation (down to the mismatching bra straps!) That's the only way to get such a lovely randomly-put-together-look. Bravo!
A very London esqe look with the layering.
Cool indeed
Hi
I've been reading your blog for a while, this is the first time I comment though.
And this girl's style is really impressive.
Congratulations for your blog.
My best regards.
