This is so interesting. This photo makes ancient Greek and Roman sculpture 'real' to me. Thanks Sartorialist!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:39 AM) :

first thought very bruce weber, second thought very revealing of yourself and the subject

That is lovely. You have an excellent eye for composition. The light makes his skin look like velvet. Perfect.

I live in a hick town in Tennessee, and I could see this at our local Sonic.

Not impressive to me at all.

Blogger Jennifer June said ... (8:31 PM) :

So...what do you think? Is the "double waistband" a young man's version of the pocket square?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:33 AM) :

oh, the beauty...

Blogger Carlene said ... (9:23 AM) :

I'm so conflicted. The setting, the man, the photograph...all stunning.

The underpants. Not so much.

Blogger grace said ... (10:25 AM) :

I think it's lovely. Almost like you've come across a private moment that you were not meant to see...just beautiful.

Blogger Laurence John said ... (2:51 PM) :

i'm sick of seeing people's underwear.

Blogger JA Firebrand said ... (8:55 PM) :

Very renaissance. The denim, waistband take away from the absolute throw back to euro sculpture but the waist down kinda ruins it while strangely acknowledging contemporary art, aka your photography; a bit of thumbs up thumbs down. The light, his back, etc says gorgeous, the jeans are a bit icky hustler model kid

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:51 PM) :

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:37 PM) :

quintessentially hot! thats where blogging becomes an artform.

Blogger Anastasia said ... (11:33 PM) :

great shot!! nice back, beautiful view - Oh and the gardens are nice too!

Blogger Travis Trott said ... (12:08 AM) :

this doesn't remind me of the renaissance at all...this is a total cadmus painting

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:31 AM) :

Lovely picture, although I would like to see his face. He looks like a charming man.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:43 AM) :

No need to ask "boxers or briefs?" here. The five inches of evidence speak for themselves...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:03 AM) :

really love this picture!

Blogger nb said ... (1:22 AM) :

The juxtaposition of classicism & ghetto youth? Come on, it's thrilling!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:00 AM) :

It reminds me of the Paul P. drawings for Dior Homme. Hm...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:34 AM) :

Oh so lovely. the intesity of the calvin klein underwear and the fact that he looks like a piece of art in a meloncholy land makes me shudder

Anonymous godofthenile said ... (2:46 AM) :

the white underpants just do it for me.
