On the Street.... UPDATE Leopard Dress, New York

Amelie of Brussels sent me this photo of the leopard dress from the Moschino show. My first Runway-to-Reality editorial! I actually like the sleeve detail in the production piece than the runway version.

Thanks Amelie

Wonderful dress! I love the red shoes with it.

ummm...the shoes are amazing. i'm just not much of a leopard print person. she loos fab, though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:13 AM) :

the dress is great but I'm sorry to say that the shoes & the handbag are not given her the perfect look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:20 AM) :

such a great look

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:44 AM) :

perfect! the sleeve length, the waistline, the collar, the small details... this shows that women can benefit from good tailoring as well as men.

i love the red shoes... even more, i love that she thought to use the red bow detail, along the waist, to tie the shoes into the outfit.

leopard print - easily vulgar - can be worn well, even splendidly, used for a prim and proper design, like this dress. the red accents (there seems to be a very small red sash around the waist) brings the whole thing to perfection. a big loud yes to this ensemble.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:24 AM) :

wow! I'm not usually a fan of animal prints, but that whole look is amazing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:21 AM) :

Riveting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:08 PM) :

fabulous!love the animal prints teamed with red shoes. i bought a leopard shirt today and i'm definitely gonna wear it with my red pumps:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:31 PM) :

i love leopard dresses. h&m did a great wrap dress in that pattern recently.

Blogger Courting Couture said ... (12:40 PM) :

oh how i LOVE the louboutins! Perfect match!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:06 PM) :

i want. where can i find this???

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:23 PM) :

Mmm...love this dress, especially with the red shoes and belt.

Blogger erin said ... (1:24 PM) :

I don't like leopard print, but the cut of this dress is beautiful. And the shoes are excellent (i have them in black!).

Blogger Cockfosters said ... (1:25 PM) :

I always find it hard to convince younger girls that it's possible to wear animal prints without looking trampy. This is the perfect example.

Blogger Mary Beth said ... (1:25 PM) :

Wish that I could see her head. Does she have an accessory that complements the outfit? We'll never know.

Blogger Alessandra said ... (1:32 PM) :

Leopard print can be so chic when it's done right! This is miles away from the trashy feel some people associate with it. An the shoes are perfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:53 PM) :

So cute. The dress is by Moschino, S/S 2005 I believe.

Blogger The Sartorialist said ... (2:04 PM) :

I was in a hurry this morning so i didn't get to comment on why I liked this dress.

Many of you have already stolen my thunder. I'm not usually a big fan of animal prints but the cut of this is so proper that is gives the print a refinement and sophistication.

To me is is all in the sleeve

Blogger Shopaholic D said ... (3:11 PM) :

i love how the sexiness of the leopard print is balanced with the feminine cut!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:36 PM) :

The dress has a lovely shape. I usually find leopard print incredibly tacky but it looks nice here. I like how the shoes match the sash on the waist. Cute cute.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:36 PM) :

Anyone know where I can find this dress???

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:48 PM) :

the proportions are so great on this

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:58 PM) :

The dress is by Moschino Cheap and Chic. It's pricey, about $700.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:23 PM) :

This ensemble is too splendid.

Blogger Frida said ... (8:09 PM) :

Oh! Leopardprint is so hard to wear but she looks awesome!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:35 AM) :

I think the dress lokks better in reality than on the runway. Love leopard print

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:17 AM) :

i love the print dress....... think the sandals work better than those high heels... nice work Sart

Blogger Old Housecoat said ... (10:53 AM) :

I love the dress, I love the fit, I love the pattern, I hate the shoes.
They remind me of some house frau's kitchen slippers. The dress deserves a more structured shoe/sandal.

Strong words for strong feelings!

Blogger Claudio Moro said ... (11:16 AM) :

Leopard print is a hard job - but worn with the red shoes - nice look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:09 PM) :

Don't love the big ol' ties on the runway sleeves, either---I prefer the smaller ones too, as well as the more delicate belt.

Like most, I'm not a big animal print fan; but it is the cut that makes it clean & sweet.

Blogger Fnarf said ... (2:35 PM) :

The street example is 100 times better, in the sleeve and the shoes. I'm going to be suffering through the wedge season for a while longer, I see.

Blogger catfiend said ... (11:11 PM) :

i agree with the sleeve comment, it was the first thing i noticed when i saw the runway pic - love the cut, the fabric and the red shoes-one of my favorite pics that you've taken so far

Blogger Resplendato said ... (12:35 PM) :

Are shoes important or what? What dress? I can't take my eyes off those shoes...gorgeous!

Blogger Nic said ... (11:14 AM) :

I was not surprised when I opened my July InStyle and saw this dress inside.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:47 PM) :

I have this dress and i love it, such a wonderdul fit!
