Comments on "On The Street.... Old Man Style In Detail, New York"
Wonderful... I love how, at first, I thought the plaid sportsjacket beneath the navy was simply a large vest. I also think it works because the button stance and placement of both jackets tend to balance each other out. The navy blazer looks almost like spring outerwear. Cool.
Sure the fit is a bit sloppy for my taste (those "devil may care" elderly" [love them]), but I believe this outfit can be very inspirational for a designer. Good eye Sarto, I love how your blog depicts different ways of looking at style and fashion.
I really like this. More appropriate for cooler temperatures, but the inner jacket has a vest-like quality, and I'm a sucker for plaid...
very cool
I trust that he is also wearing two pairs of pants, with the cuffs of the inner pair showing below the cuffs of the outer pair and the inner pair picking up the rust (?) color in the plaid of the inner jacket. Now that I think about it, plain bottoms would be better than cuffs on the pants. This gives a whole new meaning to layering.
I'm not sure if it's a homeless man's full wardrobe ( "wear it all or someone may steal it" ) , or a whimsical touch by a dandy , but it works very well !!!
