On The Street.... Beauty & The Bike, LES, New York
I love the contradiction of the sexy dress and the implied sportiness of the bike.
She's adorable, but if I were her mother I'd scold her about biking in those shoes. "What if the flip-flop gets caught in the pedal, sweetheart! You'll put your eye out!"
BTW, I'm not totally opposed to thong sandals, I just think they belong on the beach or in the boudoir, not on a city street.

as a cycist I love this city cycling look...I wannt ride with her.
For me good style is often about making things I don't like WORK. I don't like those glasses, but on her they are perfect and stunning. A skirt on a bike can be "dangerous" and not in a physical-safety way, but this gal is electric with it. If I saw her on the street like this I'd still be thinking about her a year from now.
Have just started reading you, love your blog. Wish people in Australia dressed as well as these people, we mainly do whatever comes off our bedroom floor and just go with it, its a laid back kinda place I guess.

Oh my...She's got great legs and all, but if I had those too I'd still be careful about my skirt hiking up like that. No matter. She looks phenomenal. And bit like Linsay Lohan I must say.
great way of combining red, white and blue. she carries herself with a nonchalance that is hip and now. like the aviator sunglasses, and to me these thong sandals look 'dressy' enough.
Wherever she's going looking like that... who woulda guessed she got there on a bike? She seems to have a carefree attitude, yet coordinates her slippers with her handbag - sexy!
Just because its a bicycle doesn't make it 'sporty'. It has a basket on the front and moustache handlebars--it's about as sporty as an 80s Volvo wagon! There's a *lot* of expression in a cyclist's bike, and this one doesn't say much.
hey, are you knocking 80s volvo station wagons? they're the best! great for carting around friends, furniture, for summer road trips... just perfect. as is this bike... i personally love the basket and the laid-back handlebars.

why does "sexy" contradict "sporty" ?

Yeah, cyclists without helmets are just begging to die if you ask me! Sure, a helmet's not a sexy look - but neither is a gaping head wound.
There's nothing contradictory about cycling (or sportiness) and sexiness. I'll never look as good as the woman in the photo, but I seem to get noticed (approvingly!) by men more when I'm riding my bicycle than at any other time.

The photo is super!.... I am a cyclist myself and what puzzles me is that this girl is not afraid to ride in a dress. It's so uncomfortable. Even when I am in shorts I often hit my legs that causes wounds, blood, fruises....

Indeed. She looks all the more sexy for the contrast.
Talk about traffic stopping, very sexy indeed!
Best yet. thanks. more more
Everything--windblown hair, starlet glasses, glam dress with carefree pose--oozes sex appeal. Maybe your best yet. Makes me miss New York.
Never any helmets on these cyclists!

Hope she uses sunscreen.
Great legs & that Jennifer Aniston's hair!
