On The Street........Sportswear Refined, New York

So my job of finding well dressed gentlemen will definitely become more challenging as men move into their summer wardrobe of tee shirts, shorts and flip flops.

Luckily some guys can do the look in a chic way. What really caught my eye was the subdued color combo of taupe colored knit against the pale blue shorts.

Yes, I agree about the challenges ahead of you. You might have to try some evening work to get around the shorts thing. Plus, if you are going to wear shorts, you'd better have some decent legs sticking out of them.

Heck, I even design shorts, because, well, people wear them. In the evening however, I return to a more aesthetically pleasing and socially acceptable look, even though it's all about the feel.

However, I do love pale blue anything. And Bermuda is a classic length.

The same do I. It is a tough job to find well dressed men in summer.

For example, shorts are a disaster ... so: No shorts.

I'll be interested to see what things will qualify as summer chic. This guy isn't too bad.

Although I find flip-flops to be disgusting on all people not lounging on a warm beach, at least he invested in a good pair.

Love the bag in the bike's basket, though.

What's up with the bottom of his sweater?

Chic as hell!
Love the bike
It's nice to see bermudas instead of so many cargo shorts.
Count me in!

don't forget, the sunglasses can either make or break the outfit...

Ahhh... summer is upon us as is the warm weather biking season. Now today IS a superior day at the Sartorialist Blog Spot! I love this place! What more could a cycling fanatic ask for...or wait just a moment, I did request more NYC bike footage... is this per my request last week? Wow, I could only hope my distant voice was heard .....ahhh! Just a question or pondering... Why are NYC bikes so dirty looking?

Blogger Admin said ... (4:21 PM) :

i love shorts but the real challenge comes in matching the right footwear to them.

Blogger Monique said ... (4:56 PM) :

It will be interesting to see what else can be done besides polo shirts and khaki shorts.

Blogger Max said ... (5:20 PM) :

Why all the flipflop hate? They're a good opportunity to wear outlandishly colored footwear without investing a lot of money in a pair of seafoam green loafers you'll only wear twice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:45 AM) :

I'm with the anti-flip-flops team. Flip-flops are terrible everywere except on the beach.

I like the bicyle, the basket and what looks like a canvas bag best of all....a cyclist with style.

Blogger Anastasia said ... (8:57 PM) :

he looks great! even the beard growth suits the look

I think that these pale blue shorts are so fresh.Flip flops are great too on a hot day as long as toe nails are kept in check.I love the summery looks you have posted esp. the parisians outside the Dries and Watanbe shows.
