Easter Parade, New York 2006 - 1

So the Easter Parade was really great and I got a lot of great pictures both on Fifth Ave. and a few great shots in Harlem. I will be posting them over the next two days.

maybe a few extra situps for next year?

Great spring hat and tie combo!

Looks like he's a bit confused about how to smoke a pipe though.

His accessories are great; the straw hat and flower on the lapel are fun touches.

Beautiful accessories with the flower and the beige satin tie and gorgeous straw boater. Sort of a Andre Balaz/ meets Ricky Riccardo in the 50's look.
Hot and sexy-more more more!

I love straw hats when they've aged enough to get the golden patina. This one is worn with panache.
The tie bar and pearl tie pin worn together may be vintage correct, but a bit much.
That's a whole lotta gardinia for gent.
I appreciate the photo and the pleasure the man had getting dressed. I hope we start seeing mo'betta retro on the street.

Just plain wicked.

is this thome browne's version of double breasted suit? in my opinion the jacket's lenght is too short for his size. the cut of the jacket should be in proportion with his torso.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:57 AM) :

The gardenia on the lapel is super. If only the jacket were a bit longer, and I would have preferred to see a torpedo cigar instead of a pipe with this outfit! I do like what he is doing with this look, and he certainly is handsome.

Iconic...

The combination of the hat and the pipe give this a little too much of a costume look. Take those away and the overall outfit would look great at a spring or summer wedding.

Hey did you know you were mentioned in Afisha mag in Russia? check it out:

Congrats! :)

i like how the pants and jacket are a slight mismatch of fabric (or is it sunbleach? laundering the pants more than the jacket?)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:54 PM) :

I could never, ever pull of a boater like this guy! It just looks so snazzy!
The suit looks a little small, but the length of the jacket is great IMHO.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:06 PM) :

not thinking that haircut goes with that hat ...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:31 PM) :

what i really love about easter parade is that you will always see fabulous outfits and admire them, not to mention the joyful atmosphere the parade brings.

no offense, but great fit? the jacket is far too small in length and width. it's terribly pulling in all sorts of nasty ways across the chest, and the sleeve and coat length is far too short, especially for a DB suit with wider trousers. the clothing is great but not in these dimensions on this guy...

Fabulous photos, what a treat to find this blog. All the photos present such great style. The men so dapper and the ladies so lovely.

Handsome, but the situps seem to be in order.
