Who make shoes for Vacca?

Gorgeous shoe! where is the store located?

Blogger The Sartorialist said ... (8:11 PM) :

The store I shot this at is
702 Madison Ave

Elegant shoes indeed.
I'm sceptical of coats on forms. They are often "tailored" by a few clothespins in back. Better on a live human.

Otto.

Thank you!
It is much better to invest in a shoe like this that wiil last forever. I am used to buying Gucci, Prada or Helmut shoes and even though I get classic styles from them, these Vaccas have a beautiful timlessness that is more appealing from a fashion point of view these days. Thanks for opening my eyes to a new way of looking at fashion.

Terrific and even sexy shoe, one that would work equally well as a wingtip. (I'd wear that.)

How's do the other Vacca stores (Soho and I think Meatpacking) compare to the Madison Ave one in terms of merchandise, presentation and staff?

Rob, I've heard that Vacca's shoes are Stefanobi, but I have never seen them in person.

i do know domenico vacca stores carry stefano bi but the sole looks suspicious because it's too thin. but then again that S might stand for stefano. i still prefer branchini over any italian hand made shoes. you can only get branchini in bologna or japan. i noticed the prices went down from $2,000.00 USD to $450.00 - $500.00 USD

I've bought Branchini in the States, at Saks Fifth Avenue in SF around 2002 (the shoes did poorly and were booted after a couple of seasons, maybe even one). I could swear I've seen them at Wilkes Bashford as well.

I do agree that the thinness of the sole of the shoe pictured would be uncharacteristic of Stefano Bi.

Vacca does not sell re-badged Stefano Bi shoes. The shoes are made to his specifications. Like many Italian manufacturers that do private label/contract work, Stefano Bi are quite flexible in terms of what they can make. Hence, the thickness or thinness of the sole doesn't really tell you much about how who made the shoe.

Love the blog, keep up the great work.

those shoes are wicked!

branchini is not sold at wilkes anymore but they do carry Stefano bi. I went online and saw the latest stefanno branchini collections. If you think this pair is handsome wait until you view the collections. Here is the link:

ok few infos
branchini now has nothing to do with stefano bi
stefano bi that now is owned by lvmh bought branchini company 8 years ago but right away they stop doing branchini very heavy style with something a little more refined. branchini was at barneys for a season and at bergdorf for a season and that was it.
nowdays stefano bi factory still owned by lvmh in ferrara italy makes stefano bi, berluti and domenico vacca shoes. each of them with their exclusive designs and the highest quality. all shoes are made and polished by hand. i know for sure that domenico vacca designs his own syle and also for the last few years has been working on polishing and coloring his shoes with more than a color toghether (black and red, green and orange etc.) creating beatiful colors.
i have not seen the new branchini collection but believe me domenico vacca, stefano bi and berluti are the ones to look up to.
great blog! keep up with the good work!

i agree with you that stefano bi or berlutti are handsome shoes but i still prefer stefano branchini shoes. all shoes are handmade and hand polished and if you want to see the collection here's the link:

i would even suggest going to bologna and get a pair or two because it is worth the trip. not only you will get the best pair of shoes but also you will taste the best italian food in italy.

Not even Michaelangelo could have created anything this beautiful. Shoes apparently have replaced Manna from heaven! Is this a shoe "by" Vacca or "for" Vacca? Would someone please afford me the pleasure of an intoduction? What is the name/title of this exquisite work of art?

i just bought a pair of Domenico Vacca shoes. absolutely the BEST!!

That's definitely a Stafano Bi shoe--I have a pair I got at Wilkes Bashford in SF (on sale!) 6 months ago that have an identical sole and identical logo inprinted on the bottom.
