Yves Saint Laurent, Fall 2006

Easily one of my favorite shows so far this season. There is a sportiness and attitude in the way the clothes are worn, it reminds me of Armani at his best in the mid 80's. I love all the patterned sportscoat, scarves, gloves and ,just maybe, these are the pleated pants that finally push pleated pants back into the mainstream.

Gucci was really difficult to find something good this season, with Frida taking over mens it will be interesting to see if the gap between them will widen.

how do you all feel about skinny guys in double breasted suits? theres so many designers doing double-breasted jackets and pleated pants, but always shown on these rail-thin men. it always looks like too much fabric, to me anyway.

the ysl fabrics are great. i also like the deeper gore on the jacket closures, feels very 30s, casual and elegant. ditto on the coment about the scarf peeking through the edge of the jackets.

This style looks exactly like what a close friend of mine wears.. :) Made me think of him, especially the sports jacket w/orange cuffs and check scarf. So TJ!! I hope this spreads, love love love it!

I agree with Meredith on the scarf peeking from under the jacket, but I dont understand when it became fashionable to wear a a mismatched suit

I've started wearing my scarf underneath my cardigan and showing at the bottom, based on this very photo
