Inside Domenico Vacca....Oliver Gerona, Fifth Ave. Manager
Domenico Vacca does color very, very well. When I met with Domenico the other day, he told me about the little white lie some of his customers tell when first shopping in his store.Apparently they tell Domenico they are "colorblind", and ask him to put together shirt, tie, sweater combos. Over time it becomes clear they are not colorblind but "colorscared". Domenico said one of the best rewards of selling is when they start coming by the store to show off the outfits and color combinations they put together themselves, and how much they appreciated his help in finding their sartorial voice.
To me that is what "service" is all about. Sure the follow-up calls, and home delivery, and whatever, are nice but I want expert help in making me look better and more personal in my own clothes.
Pictured above is Oliver Gerona, the manager of the Fifth Avenue store. He is one of those guys that can help you look much better than you ever thought you could, but that would still not be quite as good looking as him.

I still can't bring myself to wear a double-breasted suit. They look nice on some folks (as in this case) but not on me.
I absolutely love that store. The outfits on display are always so well put together.
Will you be shooting there anymore this week, like Kiton of last week?
I already shot there so I will be running photos all this week, tomorrow the tailor for Domenico. You've got to see this guys hands, a real craftsman.
I always want to see the shoes as well. Bad shoes can ruin it all.
I agree with Bassbug. Shoes have a very big impact on how one is percieved!
Alas, I have no plans to be in NY until the summer, however, it would be an honour to appear on such a great blog!

Are you serious! First, Vacca is the biggest joke...His business is about a 16th of what he says. Secondly, how can a true Italian call his mother a tailor, and finally, and his "tailor" was the worst tailor at Bergdorf Men's ever. Please research what you print. This article is a total joke!

i can't help to put more attention to the watch section of the whole dressing. A good watch makes the whole looks perfect, in this case he scored them all. love the vacca style already...
