Comments on "On The Street.... Hickey Freeman Executive, Midtown"
I noticed that this gentleman has a dark blue(?)pin stripe suit. What is the rule for the shoes with this type of suit?
I think the only rule is that they have to be on the correct feet.
...or if they don't match the outfit, perhaps the hair??
his suit jacket looks too long...but that is a reflection of personal preference than anything else. With blue suits, brown is the way to go. In fact, I'll be very sad if I see someone with black shoes in a blue suit.
I agree Samuel. I like the saddle tan shoes supposing this is a blue suit - can't really tell on my monitor. However, with that kind of contrast, his tie is begging for more contrast...right now it sort of blends into the shirt. Also, his tie clip appears to be wayyy to high.
I dont think so at all....A blue city suit like this cannot be worn with brown shoes. Thats a major aux pas...dont forget what the english say 'wear brown (shoes) when out of town'...City suits like this must be worn with black shoes.
Brown/tan shoes go with all shades of gray shades...
Tan shoes with a dark pin striped suite is one of the biggest mistakes a a well dressed man can ever make...As Tatiana Tolstoi would put it, " c'est une abomination!"

While black would be the obvious choice for shoe color, oxblood is a most refined with dark navy..My 2(very valuable!)cents!

I think y'all are being far too critical - He looks daper to me!
