Brunello Cucinelli website

When you get to the Brunello Cucinelli website skip right by the intro and go straight to the section called Solomeo. The images and story of how Mr. Cuncinelli recently bought and is currently restoring an old villa in Umbria for cashmere production are absolutely beautiful and inspirng.

The Brunello Cucinelli website is unbelieveably inspiring because it puts you in touch with the whole Italian history of beauty, craftsmanship and philosophy. It communnicates a civilized idea of business.

The designs are perfect, understated, elegant. They are not just boringly traditional, yet they will never go out of style. Which is good because cashmere never wears out!

But most of all the website touched me because it reminded me of an experience I had in Italy 30 years ago. My friend and I were in an art museum and an elderly man in nice wool clothes started explaining some of the pictures to us. He wasn't pushy, but he was so passionate about the beauty and history of his country, and the genius and depth of civilization there, that I've never forgoten it. It's the kind of thing we need to balance all the crassness in the marketplace!
