Just beautiful, Scott. So many good things about this picture. One of them being that she's holding knitting needles instead of an iphone!

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:39 AM) :

I'd be willing to bet she's a SCAD student. SCAD has done so much to up the style quotient in Savannah.

While I understand that her bangs are what makes this picture so special (that and the knitting needles), I'd like to see her eyes.

I'd be willing to bet that this young lady is a student at SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design). Telfair Squares only a couple of blocks away.

Finally!! Creativity in someone's hands! It's the essence of fashion and displays of it is why I love your site.

...Which is why I never understood why you find smart phones to be so stylish in people's hands! Why do they continue to be so fashionable when on display? They should be kept in pockets and handbags. There are so many better things people can be holding and looking at.

Let's see more ice cream cones, letters, and knitting needles in the hands of your subjects. I want to see smart phones fall off the fashion pedestal!

This photo should be titled, "Quiet Beauty in Repose".

I love any person under age 40 who can sit quietly and do something that doesn't involve an electronic device. Love the fact that in 2011, there is not a single electronic device anywhere in sight. This automatically makes her interesting to me.

She exudes effortless style. Love the folded up khakis, her bag is awesome, her Keds are the perfect casual, summer shoe for a woman; and all 3 meld together perfectly as the epitome of casual summer style.

ARE YOU STILL IN SAVANNAH? Tonight is the SCAD photo department student show, Silver & Ink! The show is at the River Club by Bay St and MLK. If you're still in town, please come! We all love you're work, it'd be awesome if you came!

Also, knitting on the street = SCAD Fibers major!

Wow, great Scott, ...wait that's not right, uhm great shot Scott. You are creating beautifully composed works of art. My heart expands as I look at this one...and now I understand part of the reason- there are no vertical or horizontal lines!- except for the table in the right hand corner that creates the grounding and look how the colour of that important area brings out the focus of her shirt. And there's more going on! You have wonderful artistic intuition. Wonderful.

I'm so glad you have posted recent photos of style in the south. I am from Virginia and go to college in South Carolina as a Retail major, and there is such a wonderful and growing appetite for style here! Atlanta, Charleston, and Savannah are all decadent cities worthy of your documentation. Thank You! This girl is a perfect example of relaxed but elegant southern style!

Hey Scott, I commented already, however, I believe I may have forgotten to type in the word verification. Ooops. I just wanted to say that I am quite enjoying the direction you are taking. I was awed by the balance and dynamic composition of this piece. "The bold and simple colour repetition, the spatial gradient of hue, the mystery of the hidden eyes. What impresses me the most is that there are no vertical or horizontal lines except for the grounding shape of the table in the top right, which also accents the central focus of the brown shirt." (quote I made on your photo on facebook)
Your talent is unmistakable. I am quite looking forward to watching it develop.
