Love the club collar!! I find it just as simple as elegant.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:23 AM) :

Love that collar. It is such a chic look. His jacket is nice too. He looks like he is in deep thought about something, wonder what is on his mind.

Anonymous Daly said ... (11:24 AM) :

Great picture. Great light. Can I ask which camera do you use? I hope it is not a secret;)Thanks.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:27 AM) :

Blogger lovemins said ... (11:38 AM) :

handsome! ;)

Blogger The Arrogant Male said ... (11:39 AM) :

I don't generally like club collars, but this guy makes it work. I think due in large part to the very minor stubble, which prevents this look from being too 'polished'.

Very nice shot.

Blogger Angel said ... (11:41 AM) :

Nice, but club collars aren't for everyone.

Anonymous Maryanne said ... (11:53 AM) :

early 1960's feel to this photo...
the hair, the height of the tie, the collar..
combine this with the new narrowness of men's trousers and jackets ..and you have a narrow there is a sleekness which has overtaken men's apparel.

Blogger Danielle said ... (11:59 AM) :

Great picture, I love club collars on shirts, they're spiffy! :)

Anonymous Samuel.H said ... (12:02 PM) :

I always wanted Club collars!!!
They seem less common compare to those "working" collars??? i don't know term.

But judging from his hair, tie, suit. This guy has got it all perfected :)

wish i could see his whole look!!!

Blogger A Cardigan Girl said ... (12:04 PM) :

Fantastic, and is effective with the sporty striped tie.

And that man is gorgeous.

Anonymous design elements said ... (12:06 PM) :

cool Collar :-)

Blogger Loulouprim said ... (12:14 PM) :

Makes me think of "Brideshead Revisited".

Blogger Miss Molly said ... (12:19 PM) :

such a great snap! wow

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:20 PM) :

He's pulling this collar off nicely. Not many guys can because it's very "aristocraty." But, if you're so inclined, this is the way to do it. With a glen plaid suit and slim knit tie. I can see this bloak walking through London with an umbrella and attaché case.

Blogger Shannon Elle said ... (12:22 PM) :

Going back to new wave? Not only the collar, but the striped tie and the haircut. Wonder if he has a pair of Doc Martin boots on with that jacket? :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:15 PM) :

He is like a dream...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:17 PM) :

This looks very Oxford, circa 1940's. The collar, the hair. Are we going back to those days again, elitism?

Blogger je suis sofi said ... (2:23 PM) :

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:35 PM) :

He looks so elegant! why can't more men dress like that?
great photo...
greetings from greece! :)

Blogger Slim Paley said ... (2:45 PM) :

I like it. The soft lighting in the photo may be helping, but for me, the club collar harkens back to gentler times

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:46 PM) :

Just love the hair cut :-))))

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:51 PM) :

like it, gives a very classy yet chill look.

Im not a fan of this collar a bit too fem but I wouldn't begrudge him wearing it.

Blogger The Fancy Teacup said ... (5:27 PM) :

Truly dapper looking.
much love.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:03 PM) :

Classically handsome...or should I say dapper?!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:19 PM) :

yes we know that those collars are the best but where to find them?!!!??!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:47 PM) :

I think that is johan hertzman, if im correct he works for the swedish fashion brand nicolaj detoiles...

Blogger Mary Beth said ... (8:38 PM) :

Bring back the club collar even if it's just for the recession. Very retro, fun and flippant!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:57 PM) :

Very Brideshead Revisited. Not everyone could pull this off, but because of his slender lines, I think it works. On someone bigger, I think it would be too Peter Pan-ish and look ridiculous.

Blogger ADJ said ... (10:58 PM) :

Stunning man. A jawline that beats the band...

Blogger The Ancient said ... (11:43 PM) :

A club collar never looks right without a gold collar pin. (Period.)

He looks half-dressed.

Anonymous The Ultimate Bench Press Manual said ... (11:53 PM) :

so cute :)

Blogger Yielly said ... (12:30 AM) :

Such a thoughtful look to this picture. And the highlight along his shoulders and jaw is just beautiful.

Blogger Stacey H said ... (1:05 AM) :

Just today I noticed the same type of collar in an old Ralph Lauren ad from 1984, via Its on the April 8, 2011 post. Love the pic, great work as always!

Blogger MELISSA Z. said ... (3:23 AM) :

great job! love it!

Anonymous schoodie said ... (3:27 AM) :

that's a nice outfit!!

Blogger Absolutely Mrs. K said ... (3:41 AM) :

I saw a film of you on fuji files and it actually made me cry. you look so sincere and passionate about your photography. to me you determine fashion, although it is not your first goal, but i love the fact how you see the world, we can learn so much from it. i love to watch people sitting on a terrace with a coffee. but you make such a beautiful compilation. I check out your blog everyday because it always makes me go like ooohhh and aahhh. please keep on making the world a little bit more beautiful with your photography

Anonymous barbara said ... (4:00 AM) :

never saw such a collar - i feel it gives an androgyne/feminine soft touch compared to the usual collars, which needs a man very sure of his masculinity to wear it. He doesn't need to stress and show that he is a man, he just is one.

i find it always astonishing how such a little detail can tell so much about a person and inspire so many speculations.

love, barbara

Blogger Anja said ... (4:21 AM) :

This is such a nice portrait! I don't think I would have payed him so much attention if he was looking straight into the camera waiting to get his picture taken. He looks a bit thoughtful. The lightning is good. Maybe it is early evening in Florence?

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:21 AM) :

I did not realise that this is called a club collar. Karl Lagerfeld wore a slightly narrower and taller version of that collar for years. If anyone knows the name (& where to get oen), I am all ears.

Anonymous E said ... (7:58 AM) :

Preferred it in the Alessandro, Barker Black shot. I am not sure why!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:21 PM) :

Aaaaaah finally, a YOUNG man! Please, more like this - yes the senior gentlemen can be dapper and all that, but they've had decades of practise. There are many lovely, stylish males under 35. Please consider that perhaps most of your blogees are young females and sometimes we like to look at well-dressed boys that make our pulses race!

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (2:12 PM) :

What brand is his shirt? I'm looking for a club collar shirt, but can't find it......!

Blogger Daniel Nielsen said ... (2:29 PM) :

We need something other than men in suits to be posted on her imo. there's other good style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:05 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:18 PM) :

Jack Daniel: The shirt comes from Nikolaj d'Ètoiles, as the rest of the outfit.
Very nice pic by the way!
