Comments on "On the Street....Club Collar, Florence"
Love the club collar!! I find it just as simple as elegant.
Chiara
Love that collar. It is such a chic look. His jacket is nice too. He looks like he is in deep thought about something, wonder what is on his mind.

Great picture. Great light. Can I ask which camera do you use? I hope it is not a secret;)Thanks.
this is so elegant! i love the checkered coat!

so sleek, love this picture!

handsome! ;)

I don't generally like club collars, but this guy makes it work. I think due in large part to the very minor stubble, which prevents this look from being too 'polished'.
Very nice shot.
Nice, but club collars aren't for everyone.

Very... fancy! :)
great jacket
Looking quite smart!

early 1960's feel to this photo...
the hair, the height of the tie, the collar..
combine this with the new narrowness of men's trousers and jackets ..and you have a narrow silhouette..so there is a sleekness which has overtaken men's apparel.
Great picture, I love club collars on shirts, they're spiffy! :)

I always wanted Club collars!!!
They seem less common compare to those "working" collars??? i don't know term.
But judging from his hair, tie, suit. This guy has got it all perfected :)
wish i could see his whole look!!!
Thanks
Fantastic, and is effective with the sporty striped tie.
And that man is gorgeous.
cool title...club Collar :-)
Makes me think of "Brideshead Revisited".
such a great snap! wow
http://missmollyfashions.blogspot.com/
He's pulling this collar off nicely. Not many guys can because it's very "aristocraty." But, if you're so inclined, this is the way to do it. With a glen plaid suit and slim knit tie. I can see this bloak walking through London with an umbrella and attaché case.
Going back to new wave? Not only the collar, but the striped tie and the haircut. Wonder if he has a pair of Doc Martin boots on with that jacket? :)

A neat collar that looks it will lay in place nicely. I dig the jacket too, Sharp Guy!
Great collar!
elegant man, bourgeois

Cool!
I love that tie
Pristine. Elegance at its masculine best.
SOOO SHEIK! LOVE HIS original LOOK!

Do club collars cry out for ties? I think so.
My attempt to be an Asian Sartorialist =) Feel free to comment!

beautiful portrait ;)

Sexy.
the pyramid crease it creates under the tie is genius.
Good look!(好看)
He's also beautiful..
Nice... Sharp.
Just a Silhouette
Such a classic look. Love the suit and tie also!
He is like a dream...
This looks very Oxford, circa 1940's. The collar, the hair. Are we going back to those days again, elitism?
He looks so elegant! why can't more men dress like that?
great photo...
greetings from greece! :)

I like it. The soft lighting in the photo may be helping, but for me, the club collar harkens back to gentler times
Just love the hair cut :-))))
like it, gives a very classy yet chill look.
Opsss!!! que guapo...
What an interesting shape!
Such an interesting shape! I hope the new collar shapes continue into the fall.
hair!
Im not a fan of this collar a bit too fem but I wouldn't begrudge him wearing it.
Love the collar and the tie! The look is neither young or old, its perfect.
I WANT THIS GUYS HAIRSTYLE!
Truly dapper looking.

much love.
Classically handsome...or should I say dapper?!
yes we know that those collars are the best but where to find them?!!!??!!!
I think that is johan hertzman, if im correct he works for the swedish fashion brand nicolaj detoiles...
Bring back the club collar even if it's just for the recession. Very retro, fun and flippant!
Very Brideshead Revisited. Not everyone could pull this off, but because of his slender lines, I think it works. On someone bigger, I think it would be too Peter Pan-ish and look ridiculous.
Stunning man. A jawline that beats the band...

A club collar never looks right without a gold collar pin. (Period.)
He looks half-dressed.
Such a thoughtful look to this picture. And the highlight along his shoulders and jaw is just beautiful.
Just today I noticed the same type of collar in an old Ralph Lauren ad from 1984, via http://tartanscot.blogspot.com/. Its on the April 8, 2011 post. Love the pic, great work as always!
great job! love it!

that's a nice outfit!!
I saw a film of you on fuji files and it actually made me cry. you look so sincere and passionate about your photography. to me you determine fashion, although it is not your first goal, but i love the fact how you see the world, we can learn so much from it. i love to watch people sitting on a terrace with a coffee. but you make such a beautiful compilation. I check out your blog everyday because it always makes me go like ooohhh and aahhh. please keep on making the world a little bit more beautiful with your photography
never saw such a collar - i feel it gives an androgyne/feminine soft touch compared to the usual collars, which needs a man very sure of his masculinity to wear it. He doesn't need to stress and show that he is a man, he just is one.
i find it always astonishing how such a little detail can tell so much about a person and inspire so many speculations.
love, barbara
pretty cool~
Sharp.
Deeply handsome
This is such a nice portrait! I don't think I would have payed him so much attention if he was looking straight into the camera waiting to get his picture taken. He looks a bit thoughtful. The lightning is good. Maybe it is early evening in Florence?
the "club" is my favourite!!!
Ciao!
i hope you'll visit my blog and if you like you can follow me on it!!!

he has great hair.
A club collar, becoming the identity.
Nice pic.
William Burroughs
ahh beautiful photo!!
I did not realise that this is called a club collar. Karl Lagerfeld wore a slightly narrower and taller version of that collar for years. If anyone knows the name (& where to get oen), I am all ears.

Ohhh! So cool to have a friend posted on The Sartorialist!!!
Way to go!
wow very stylish..
Preferred it in the Alessandro, Barker Black shot. I am not sure why!
Aaaaaah finally, a YOUNG man! Please, more like this - yes the senior gentlemen can be dapper and all that, but they've had decades of practise. There are many lovely, stylish males under 35. Please consider that perhaps most of your blogees are young females and sometimes we like to look at well-dressed boys that make our pulses race!
What brand is his shirt? I'm looking for a club collar shirt, but can't find it......!
We need something other than men in suits to be posted on her imo. there's other good style.
i love classic style the peter pan collar the grey wool tie and the vintage looking plaid blazer
Jack Daniel: The shirt comes from Nikolaj d'Ètoiles, as the rest of the outfit.
Very nice pic by the way!

Can someone tell me what the other side of the hair will look like???
i would love a sartorialist website dedicated just to him!
He looks like one of E.M. Forster's troubling young men.
One of my favorite haircuts.
I LOVE this collar! I cant wait to make one for my boyfriend. actually, what the hell, I cant wait to make one for me too!!!
tamps mix!
Love that one!
