Blogger Jg. for FatScribe said ... (3:41 PM) :

one of the downsides to Spring's arrival is that we'll lose these great trench coats. at least the pea coat will suffice 'til Summer arrives in two months.

Blogger lady stardust said ... (3:42 PM) :

I love them! Overall the first outfit (:

Anonymous Gary-A said ... (3:46 PM) :

Wow, going to Ralph Lauren really ages you! hahaha

Both outfits are great. And I agree with the post above, I love a nice camel/khaki coat on a person, man or woman. Ah well, until next season.

Blogger rebecca said ... (4:12 PM) :

could the woman on the bottom be any cuter? ditto on the red pants. need some!

Blogger Tee said ... (4:15 PM) :

Isn't the woman in the first picture one that you photographed in the shrunken JCrew boys fisherman's sweater with a flouncy skirt that caused a frenzy of sweater-seekers? She looks familiar...

Blogger comme fraiche said ... (4:16 PM) :

Camel coats and blond hair do go well together

Blogger Prutha Raithatha said ... (4:17 PM) :

i like the boots in the first pic and the red pants... camel coats r super boring for me

Blogger Lisa Petrarca said ... (4:18 PM) :

Anonymous salomé said ... (4:22 PM) :

Beautiful pics ;D

Blogger Jennie Nguyen said ... (4:24 PM) :

love the colours!

Anonymous dan monteith said ... (4:38 PM) :

There's a bit more to it than that. She epitomises the Sartorialist ethic - really growing older gracefully. nd importantly - Insouciant! And of course in motion - somewhere to go! So it's a really lovely change from the static portrait. My fave picture to date !!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:47 PM) :

It seems like most folks prefer the red pants, but the first girl is just captivating. We can get Reese Witherspoon to play her in the movie about her life story....

Anonymous Patricia said ... (4:56 PM) :

Wow. The woman in the red pants is so beautiful.

Blogger jenbern said ... (5:01 PM) :

such a nice surprise to scroll down and see the pop of red! beautiful!

Blogger SAMANTHA said ... (5:10 PM) :

Lovely! Pops of color and trenches.

Blogger Ger and Jul said ... (5:12 PM) :

the coats are stunning.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:14 PM) :

Wearing a coat and no socks - that's courageous - I'd be sick the next day!...But in Germany we say: if you want to be beautiful, you have to suffer... ;-)

Blogger Francesca Robertson said ... (5:36 PM) :

omg that second pic is phenomenal

Anonymous JoJo said ... (5:47 PM) :

I need the boots from the first shot. They're a similar style to ones you shot in London during the winter. I've been in love with them since.

Gorgeous camel coats on both women.

Blogger my healthy twist said ... (6:12 PM) :

What great photos! So pretty! XOXO,!

Anonymous Lillian Stout said ... (6:14 PM) :

Sweatheart you blog is so inspirational! I hope one day my blog will be as successful as yours!

Blogger Chez Carolinette said ... (6:14 PM) :

Red soles are always something to love!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:27 PM) :

love the pop of red! flawless!

Blogger Malo said ... (6:35 PM) :

Those two are cuties with fine fashion sense.

Anonymous clotildeSF said ... (6:39 PM) :

I have no idea why, but I am in a real red kick now -, a couple of weeks ago, painted my toe nails a dark red, just got a red, rather sexy pencil skirt, will purchase next a red satin trench coat and I seem to slow down to stare at red cropped pants in catalogs and in stores for a little while now... this convinces me! And I love both the black shoes, as well!

Anonymous Lauren said ... (7:17 PM) :

Both outfits are great! I love the coat in the first photo and would like to see more of this silhouette as an alternative to the belted trench. And the second photo is a wonderful example of the pairing of red and camel that's everywhere right now. Lovely with the black sandals!

Blogger Lin and Haily said ... (8:03 PM) :

both these ladys look so refreshing. lovin the sandals!

Blogger John B Pritchett said ... (8:30 PM) :

Love the pics but the first one is so cute! Fantastic black shoes.

Blogger Marina said ... (8:31 PM) :

beautiful!! i love coming to your blog!!

Blogger Daniel Nielsen said ... (8:40 PM) :

I love the bursts of activity both these outfits have in the red pants, and the bottom of the shirt. plus the shoes are great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:46 PM) :

The second pic is great! Her shoes, red pants and camel jacket are perfect!

BUT I can't stand these pics of women who are obviously uncomfortable in wearing insanely tall shoes/boots! SERIOUSLY, I am an aesthete, a beauty junkie, but I just CAN'T take these pics of torture anymore. NO matter how stylish it seems, women wearing HIGH HEELS are for the most part very uncomfortable NOT TO MENTION the job they do on your legs !

Blogger Nvs said ... (8:48 PM) :

gotta love the shoes in the first photo and the pants in the second photo!

Blogger My Heart Blogged said ... (8:54 PM) :

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:13 PM) :

I love the first picture so much! Are those Louboutins on the first womans feet? I also love the khaki trench with the hounds tooth patterned skirt peaking from underneath.
Check out my trendy blog!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:15 PM) :

Love all the coats, boots but the best is the woman wearing sandals.

Blogger Pippa said ... (10:35 PM) :

It is totally necessary for camel to be matched with a slick of red somewhere I recon.

Blogger hp said ... (10:54 PM) :

Beautiful camel coats!
The red and camel combination is not one immediately apparent to me, but it seems to work!

Blogger ArgyleCity said ... (11:24 PM) :

I feel like if it's cold enough to have that kind of jacket, it's too cold for sandals.. or vice versa.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:31 PM) :

it's me! well it seems like it.
i love all it's prettiness

Anonymous Hannah said ... (11:41 PM) :

Blogger Holly said ... (12:26 AM) :

that looks like Mary Kate Steinmiller! i love her style!

Anonymous Lucia said ... (1:04 AM) :

Is it really that warm in NYC right now, so you can wear no socks?
Well anyway, I just LOVE the second picture, i like it as she is movieng, not standing and posing, a woman i motion. I like that. I also love her outfit, I want a pair of red cropped pants for the spring and summer. The coat is wonderful and she looks so pretty and beautiful.
The girl in the first pic is cute and lovely too, but her coat could have been ironed a bit :) The outfit is totally cool, but those heels will kill her feet.
Thank you, such great pictures again!

Blogger Mars said ... (1:36 AM) :

The camel coats are amazing and very flattering.

Mars of fashion insouciance

Blogger thwany said ... (1:43 AM) :

i really like the red + camel

Anonymous Maria said ... (2:43 AM) :

In the second picture it seems strange to me that the lady is wearing coat with sandals. I love the colors but.....

Blogger Alejandro Soberano said ... (3:37 AM) :

Nice style in both photos. The boots in the first pic are stylish and sexy. Red pants in second one are very chic.

Good shots

Love both of those trenches! :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:19 AM) :

The skirt she wearing on the fisrt pic. is that chanel?

Blogger davidikus said ... (7:26 AM) :

When I see "before & after" pop up in the title of a fashion post, I always think of those Helmut Newton "clothed & naked" shots for some reason.

Your pictures are far more exciting!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:25 AM) :

i love the expression on the second womans face! gorgeous. and the pop of color with the pants is great.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:08 AM) :

j'aime beaucoup les 2 silhouettes, très classes.

Blogger KC said ... (9:33 AM) :

love the second look. i covet her coat.

Anonymous Christine said ... (9:58 AM) :

Well, I guess it's just like Garance wrote in her Fashion Week/Parallel Universe post: I'm wearing sandals even though it's 20 below= I have a driver.

Blogger Milica said ... (10:21 AM) :

Love it! That combination is so elegant. Love the red pants!

Anonymous NMaryanne said ... (11:01 AM) :

the second photo has such information in it...
the man checking his cell, the woman waiting at the curb, the cop walking the beat, the gate by a closed store, the graffitti spray painted on the brick wall...and in the
forefront is a brave woman..wearing sandals with colourful trousers and handbag.

Anonymous Ana Magnolia said ... (11:08 AM) :

The second lady is really beautiful! The red pants are great!

Blogger Sailor Jamee said ... (11:41 AM) :

That last outfit is EVERYTHING I want and more. I am a coat person. Some people are shoe people, bag people, etc. I am a COAT person, and that coat is orgasmically wonderful. Plus the red pants and shoes...ugh, brilliant!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:45 PM) :

It seems silly to wear bare feet, and a winter coat. Is it me? Am I getting old, and out of touch completely?

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:15 PM) :

I so want the camel coat of the girl at the second photo....

Blogger Naftali Stern said ... (4:23 PM) :

First pic, great shoes, second pic, great pants..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:13 PM) :

Mary Kate Steinmiller is so fabulous! Thank you for all of your photos of her. They are always such a treat.

Anonymous Lisa said ... (10:06 PM) :

M'lady, I appreciate your natural-colored nails with your stand-out red. so clean, so considered.

Blogger Melissa Avila said ... (2:18 AM) :

I know everyone is commenting on the red pants, but I really love the smirk on her face. She knows exactly what she is doing.

Blogger Ljoli said ... (6:04 AM) :

I love the second look- great shoes, great pants and a simple coat. I cannot think of a person who wouldn't benefit from such kind of attire. o

Blogger Mertxe Hernàndez said ... (9:43 AM) :

Wow very lovely outfit! Beautiful combination.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:33 PM) :

meredith melling burke looks fab in those red pants!! she has the best style...

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:56 PM) :

Omg they're so elegant!

Blogger dash said ... (5:03 PM) :

Agreed with Anonymous 8:46. (although it's okay to use your own identity if you're saying something critical)

photo #1 is not an attractive look. It's cruel for adults to continue to let young women think this is okay. Let's check back with this woman in 20 years and see how her feet are doing.

Blogger Anne said ... (5:25 PM) :

The beautiful woman in red pants is Meredith Melling-Burke, an editor in US Vogue. Her wonderful coat is 3.1 Phillip Lim, I know as I have the same in black :) just love the coat, wish I could find it in camel too!

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:15 PM) :

so J.Crew

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:27 PM) :

I knew this was Meredith Melling-Burke.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:00 AM) :

Love the red pants, neutral coat and black sandals. Can someone i.d. the sandals for me? They're perfect!!

Anonymous Angie said ... (12:25 AM) :

Ooh I have shoes like the first picture! But they aren't louboutins :(

Anonymous image masking said ... (3:31 AM) :

You've done really excellent job! what a nice photography!

Love how the same coat can be so differently styled1

Blogger jhuynh said ... (10:28 AM) :

the coat!!! where can I get one?

Blogger 4eyeblogabout said ... (11:11 AM) :

Whoah red pants! Makes me wanna get a pair now...then again not. Looks right on the small pretty lass, would look wrong on a amazon just as me. Love the beading detail she wore under the lovely camel. The colour is one that only allows good cut and right detailing. Really tricky finding the right one.

Anonymous Alexis said ... (10:55 AM) :

Those shoes are perfect! Her outfit is great- love the camel with the red and black.

Anonymous kl said ... (9:00 PM) :
