Looking fantastic. Wow, what an incredible job of layering. Starting with the simple t-shirt and khakis and working his way out to the sweater. I LOVE THE SWEATER. And his shoes are such a great color, perfectly neutral with everything he's wearing. Looks like a wet and nasty day there in Florence, but he is looking warm and cozy. Trousers too short (and, if it's really that cold, unsuitably lightweight). And, I know it's just me, but single monks are truly horrible, so double that for these!

I'll bet he has a closet bursting with luxurious goodies...why not layer them and look beyond stylish. He also doesn't care too much as his blazer is a bit sloppy and I like that - he's not thinking too hard about his looks but he has great taste.

I can't imagine that it would be so cold over there to warrant such layering (I mean the coat is open).
Tonally, I think he has a well balanced outfit although the coat might be a bit too casual for the look. Can't say I have aever seen a sweater-knit duffle before-very nice and very unique (makes you wonder if it is all wool or some other expensive wool blend. Love the monk-strap shoes.
I can say that it was pretty hard decision to wear that knit over the blazer. The result is... successful!!
