The caramel colored shoes+sweater are what make this "classic with a twist" outfit an inspiration.

Look at those double monks!

The shoes! the shoes! Love his shoes)
Great pieces to help stave off the cold.
Don't the Italian's know how to do it?
Beautiful color and pattern matching here. Clearly, this gentleman hasn't seen your post on shorter outerwear sleeve lengths though :)
great layering with that sweater!
My favorite type of shoes.
Classic with a twist.
Layering of clothes, colours, textures...and stones. This guy's got style!

Amazing photography...truly
here is a cool blog: :)

Someone needs to tell me the exact name of that cardigan. Those clasps are something else.
LOVE this sweater!
Takes a certain gentleman to pull that off!
Good shoes too.
<3
Clumpy clunky nonsense- and I love knitwear!
U wont feel the cold, right?
Love the colours!
xo thefashionguitar
Phenomenal! Just the combination of the toggle sweater, the scarf, the double breasted plaid blazer...and the shoes. You did good Sart!...You did good!
Love the shoes, the colors and the double breasted blazer. The layering is perfection and I really, really want that toggle cardi/coat!!

awesome... wish my father dressed this way
dearest,

Classic pieces layered in an unexpected way!Lets all rethink our current wardrobes-
Hate the socks - far too dark. He should wear none for a complete contrast to the heaviness of the rest of the outfit
Amazing!
loving the touch of hunter green
My eyes!

Now that's one dapper cat.
Where's that seasoned gentlemen heading with the perfect layers and great brown shoes?...
http://ren-uh-zahns.blogspot.com
Awesome sweater, love the layers and to finish it all The Monk Straps!!!
He looks so bulky.....don't really care for it.
VERY classy! love those shoes, the duffelcoat and that scarf!
niccce!
Janni
Love the caramel and the green
There is a man with style and confidence, nice shot.
but aren't those pants a touch short?
h.
It's unexpected, the jacket underneath the sweater coat. I like the mix of textures though.
I believe the shoes are the new Prada
nice blazer
love this.

Great composition, especially the juxtaposition of the cardigan against the wooden fence!
I want that cardigan! A great replacement for my coat.
Love the look of layering I do it all of the time!

Love it, but think we're all going to end up in animal skins, the way the weathers going, can we make that fashionable??
@Anonymous about the socks:
I agree on the no socks, feet have to stay warm too, ya know. I think green socks to pick up the color of the scarf would look nice.
does someone know the brand of this coat???? need ittttt
what a dope outfit...love it...<3

one word: sleek
ahhh the layerings and colors are matched to perfection...
The layering is awesome. Love the sweater, I need to buy one ASAP.
i always tought of fashion as something quite boring ...
But i must admit that your blog raised my interest about this subject. Amazing pictures ! Congratulations :)
http://thinkoutsidethabox.blogspot.com/
Love. Love. Love. Everything. The shoes, the toggles, the colors, the classiness.
a proper topcoat would have looked better over his blazer, I do like his shoes though
I enjoy this!

i dig the layering
Looks rather awkward. Or rather, it just looks uncomfortable.
omg i love this man, and i dont even know him, he looks great. i love the pant length and the shoes, Ahh, i love it.
this is a gentleman who has put thought into his ensemble.
that loden scarf, the brass buttons and toggles...add a tremendous ammount.
Great picture. Love the shoes and sweater!
This is so good.
paperwhales.blogspot.com
Looking fantastic. Wow, what an incredible job of layering. Starting with the simple t-shirt and khakis and working his way out to the sweater. I LOVE THE SWEATER. And his shoes are such a great color, perfectly neutral with everything he's wearing. Looks like a wet and nasty day there in Florence, but he is looking warm and cozy. Once again, great play of fore and backgrounds. Lovely photograph.
intriguing he left the bottom left button unbuttoned
.......but what on earth would I wear to compete for admiring glances? It's a great outfit but I wouldn't/couldn't go out with him in public!
Oh yes, do add me to the list of those who would kill for the sweater coat........and with toggles it is easily unisex!
Awesome photos of amazing clothes/people - so glad I've found you.
magnificient!
Nobody should text while walking...but if you do, try to look this cool doing it!

VERY classy! love those shoes, the duffelcoat and that scarf!

Antique jewelry, a term applied to jewelry over a hundred years old, is now a favorite with the prospective brides, too.
its all about camel.. continues..
Magnifique !
Hey a just a dandy.
http://influxus.blogspot.com/
that is some awesome layering right there! the texture of his knit coat is amazing and it picks up the colour of his shoes so beautifully!
great shot!
http://missmollyfashions.blogspot.com/
Great style. I've noticed so many interesting photos of older men. Not many at all of older women. Are there none worth photographing? I'd sure like to see more!!!
Really enjoy your photos. Would be wonderful to see more photos of Asians in Fashion!

I love everything on him,it looks awesome.
Helen
He's Alessandro Squarzi : a super stylish italian man!
The strangest thing is, when I was in Florence I never saw these fashionable people. Only the elderly people were the best dressed ones.
very cool man! his name's Alessandro Squarzi! He has a fashion showroom! very very cool! love the mix!!! he's always the best dressed!!!
isn't it the Bark coat? very fashion 70's colours! and very fashion man!
I just love this - can't really explain why - I think I just love the fact that he is completely himself!
Inspiration
so a perfect style!!!!
The scarf underneath the jacket makes him look uncomfortable further shown by the inability of the jacket to button up completely!
He look rather stuffy, I would suggest a thinner scarf or no scarf at all.
I love the sweater and the austrian knots ;)
http://fashiondoesntexist.blogspot.com/
Very classy man...elegant and cool at the same time! The wool montgomery is fantastic!!!!!
Not doing it for me at all - I just think he looks silly.
Trousers too short (and, if it's really that cold, unsuitably lightweight). And, I know it's just me, but single monks are truly horrible, so double that for these!
omg you've got such a cute blog.
The heavy golden buttons give the impression the jacket is not straight: the ones that are not buttoning sit down lower than the others (law of physics).
The layering on the other hand, is wonderful.
http://davidikus.blogspot.com/
simply chic knitted sweater!
overkill
the wollen coat should be from a new brand named BARK
Adorei!
GREAT LOOK IN SUCH A CHARMING GENTLEMAN...
Obviously, it's a statement look. I love it. ~ xoxo Diamond Cat
Simply Fabubous !!!
A Chic Man showing a great character in his outfit!
It's a bit much. Just wear an overcoat already. He looks stuffed.
Great pic! I've never seen anything like it!!!
http://stylekaleidoscope.blogspot.com/
I don't know - it feels over-stuffed to me. Layering can be fabulous but sometimes I feel it's gone too far. It's so ubiquitous and never looks comfortable. Let's change it up sometimes, Sartorialist!
Double monk ? Lobb William circa 1990 (old buckles) in Tan Buffalo leather... Yummy !
http://stepsandstyle.tumblr.com/
Great photo, looks like a realistic scene on the street.
mark thuesen
Oh fabulous. Well done.
He is gorgeous and all the wonderful clothes are just icing.
What one wears usually is a manifestation of the inner. This is indeed a great moment captured on film in so many ways.
Very inspirational.
Much light always,
Pm
I have to admit, that I don't like neither the jacket (horrible!) nor the cardigan nor the shoes. Looks as if he didn't know, what to wear. Sorry!
cool!!!!
I love the idea of the over-sized sweater worn over the blazer.
really amazing :) i've been trying to find a decent good quality blazer like that with a female cut, but i can only find weirdly shaped ones at zara :(
I would KILL for that knitted duffle coat/jacket/sweater/thing.
Great picture.
(also those double monk-strap shoes are to die for, as well)
OMG! He looks so cool!
Awesome cardigan :)
thumbs UP!
This cardigan is amazing, love the color matching the shoes
Ooh, I dunno, maybe it's just me but girls always seem to do layering better than guys.
An impressive construction none-the-less.
That cardigan is off the charts.
texture rich.
amazing outfit!!
Judging by your photo record this guy never does anything other than look at his phone.
So many textures!!! I love how he's cuffed his pants, with the blue socks underneath. I also love the construction of his shoes. The buckles are so interesting!
I wonder how long his jacket's sleeves are. ;)
I'm going to just say it. This guy looks ridiculous. I bet he feels even worse. It looks so uncomfortable! Reminds me of when your parents bundle you up in a snowsuit with many layers underneath and you can't even put your arms down all the way.
I love everything about it. Great style and a great shot!
Why didn't he button the fourth button?
nice. you don't usually see sweaters over blazers but i like it.
love this outer layer.
have not seen one in this color or woven fabric.
awesome!
http://jimjims.net
for us its "fashion" for them its "effortlessly getting dressed in the morning", its that innate characteristic that we strive for.
great shot.
for us its "fashion" for them its "effortlessly getting dressed in the morning", its that innate characteristic that we strive for.
great shot.
Why can't every man of a certain age look this chic? This is EONS above the ubiquitous 'Dad Jeans.' Simply inspirational. Modern Sophisticate
I'll bet he has a closet bursting with luxurious goodies...why not layer them and look beyond stylish. He also doesn't care too much as his blazer is a bit sloppy and I like that - he's not thinking too hard about his looks but he has great taste.
This guy appeared a while ago on another blog with the following caption:
"These guys do this for a living, you think they would know better. When you try hard, you die hard."
It's a BARK duffel coat, the new thing. Amazing.
he's definitely stylish!
http://sheisfashionholic.blogspot.com/
One of the best male posts I have seen on this blog, and oh! There have been so many good ones to choose from.
the cardigan is great and all, but the scarf (or whatever he's smuggling under the blazer) makes it the blazer look way too tight

I believe the shoes are the new Prada....
i doubt it - these shoes are Magnanni's - i have the same pair in dark brown - very stylish and comfortable.

Chicchissimo! Un po' tipo Hermes!
First of all, great quality cardi. Looks really havy, chunky and gives the outfit a nice "leisure" twist.Nicely matched with the shoes.
Regards,
Fashion Abuse
Brilliant lack of 4th button.
Winter is cold in Florence, i can tell you that much :)
Scarf and blazer looks bulky, but this doesn't look like a man who would wear it if it as uncomfortable...
love all the colors - so chill
Love the colors on the clothing and the backround in this photo! Love the light slacks and the elegant SHOES!!!!!
I love them seperate, but together not so much. www.copperetiquette.wordpress.com
I can't imagine that it would be so cold over there to warrant such layering (I mean the coat is open).
Tonally, I think he has a well balanced outfit although the coat might be a bit too casual for the look. Can't say I have aever seen a sweater-knit duffle before-very nice and very unique (makes you wonder if it is all wool or some other expensive wool blend. Love the monk-strap shoes.
I can say that it was pretty hard decision to wear that knit over the blazer. The result is... successful!!
Camel double monks = Bad Ass
I would like that man's coat for myself.
THANK YOU BARK FOR THIS AMAZING DUFFEL/CARDIGAN...
All this gentleman does is double... Wonderful double-breasted jacket associatied with a magnificient pair of double monk...
Too bad, he wore his duffle coat over it, I think it destroys the whole silhouette. What do you think ?
wow..
i love it when people take great care of their wardrobe. it makes everything look fresh off the rack.
thundercup.blogspot.com
This guy gets it.
There is nothing better than Ultra Chunky knitwear. I love the sweater. No matte what you have underneath, big sweaters like that just makes a HUGE statement.
No way.
just love it!
I love it! He's so stylish, it's effortless, like he just has so many cool cardies in his wardrobe and that's just one of them. So swish!
www.thelovelywars.com
I really wonder where he got the knitted(Duffle) coat from... any ideas anyone???
MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!
