i think the gloves finish it. such a stately looking man.
I know this is a mens cape, but I really am looking for a warm great women's one!
He's so chique! And what a tough look)
Love the combination of different shades of blue and different materials!

Very debonaire...you could even use one of the Vogue patterns for capes and tweak the fit for a guy. This gent is very debonaire indeed.
Truly regal.
Now that's dapper.
Beautiful. Every face has a story.
This picture is great! The serious look, his pose and the outfit. It just all comes together perfectly! I love the blue color and the way it stands out.
xx

fantastic cape - and the matching glove/scarf combo is great!

He looks amazing! I want his gloves!
He looks really cool;)
This dude reminds me of LL Cool J.
But a french oriental version.
Gloves, scarf, and peacoat are rad!
http://jimjims.net/
Who made the coat?
great look - awesome scarf. all these and other attractive layers to make a great whole.
e.
The gloves, tone on tone with the scarf, and the beret make the difference! Elegant and mysterious... and subtly blue. But wasn't the origin of a marvellous blue porcelain in Florence?
:-) Liz Shella
Wow! This man has it going on...Absolutely gorgeous!

the facial expression, the angle of the hat, the silhouette of the coat, and the shades of blue contrasting with the wooden door behind - so perfect!
wow looks very cool!

Very chic...very handsome...very stylish! I love all the different hues of blue. I've always been keen on pairing blue with black, at least the blue hues that he used here go so well with black. His well trimmed facial hair, as well as the hair on his pate, goes very well with his look. Gorgeous!
Interesting Style!!!

You are welcome to visit my blog too :))
Love the gloves. They pull everything together!
I love how dramatic this is. The matching scarf and gloves. The coat draped over the shoulders. The beret. The wooden door backdrop. A fabulous shot.
A beautiful example of the black + blue trend! He is dashing. What great gloves!

So stylish, i love it! It's solemn great look!
Strange how this looks really modern but also ancient in style at the same time.
Love it.
Seems so clean.
A clear statement of shape and power of those behind the process of creating. The PatternMakers.
Love your work as always.

Those gloves actually rock!
WOW!!!! Love the look and his eyes!
Hahaha, is it strange that the first thing that entered my head when I saw this photo was "SO SASSY"?
He is so regal, it's lovely. And I agree with above Pret a Porter P....your Pitti sets are always great! Thanks.
http://www.christinevieira.com/blog
LOVE! That's all.
C'est magnifique! I love the cape and the scarf.
Great expression in clearly points out a personality.
Awesome gloves!
He really pulls off the 'Are they hands or is it a belt?' look.
http://gabymademedoit.blogspot.com/
Oozing with style!
very very good
the color of the scarf really pops...love the cape!
I like the look of a gentleman in a cape. Wish more felt comfortable wearing them.
"impeccable" - this is what we call it in france.
but ...
when too perfect lieber gott böse.
I am missing something to "fall in love for a little moment".
do you know what I mean ?
fancy.
Stylish and a bit dangerous, all at once.
www.thesluicebox.com
Smart! A very simple way to be elegant and dramatic. He could be wearing very normal clothes underneath, but looked dressed up none the less.
I sometimes see gents like this when I'm traveling in Europe. It's like they want to belong to another age. They look out of place and slightly insane. They don't notice that people are rolling their eyes, or they don't care.
This man's style is fantastic. The look of his face further elevates this picture.
Great shot sart!
One for the coffee table book that you need to do.
Beautiful shot Scott.. His cape is fantastic..
Love how long his scarf is

A beauty. I love blue. Like pink, there's a shade for everyone. Thanks.
It's the gloves and scarf that really stand out, they really catch your eye.
Beautiful Blue & chic.
I love his posing.
All this blue is probably a bit much but I like this pimpin' style anyway!
http://mystylecanvas.blogspot.com
it's the gloves.
they make him look like a super villain.
a very suave super villain.
I'm so very very gay but I'd go straight for this gentleman. What posture, what style, what gorgeous features!
Does he have a sister?
Wow factor is back in your photographs...last few were out of focus and out of fashionable imagination.
The scarf, cape, hat and gloves simply rock.
Loving the shades of blue!

Very nice , gangster
lovin the colour storys in your pics, always worth comin back for more, an-mhaith ar fad!
the cape is gorgeous! i have been looking for something that luxurious for months! very jealous!
as always.. beautiful image.
Jesus - - this guy looks like a clown. The smug look, stilted pose etc. do him no favors.
he looks like a count who lives in a castle! a very stylish one at that.
love, M

gorgeous!
Über chic!!!!
Nice. :) That door is awesome!
those are some pretty bad-ass gloves.
long live Zorro
Ooh, the blue of that scarf. I want!
He looks like a king. I love all the color in the outfit. I wish men in the states wore more than jeans, and t-shirts.
My Heart Blogged
He looks like an asian version of The 3 Musketeers. Very elegant, very handsome, very thoughtfully styled!!
I can't tell, but are those come sort of skinny jeans instead of trousers? Amazing. The gloves!
Perfect!
Marc.
coat-gloves love them
http://sickshopper.blogspot.com
i nthink he's the only one of the few men who can pull off of what I call drama in menswear with such ease.. :)
i will say it again..
inky blue is the new black.
it's a far more flattering colour.
in this case, it's that electric royal blue that makes the ensemble chic.
Oh, nice! I wish I had the courage to dress so dramatically. I wonder if he's always so wonderfully put together? It might be a hobby of his--or maybe just the day of this photograph, a friend of his dressed him. Whatever the case, he's *rockin'* this look.
Gorgeous shades of blue. The gloves are amazing
At first I wasn’t sure that was a cape. I thought maybe it was a topcoat, somewhat oversized, with the sleeves turned inside the body—which struck me as a clever idea. On further examination, though, I can see a buttoned flap on the man’s left side, which probably covers a slit in the cloak, so he can keep his hands inside when the cloak’s buttoned up, and still reach outside as needed.
Terrific look—and does anyone else find it vaguely Renaissance, with the beret and all? Guess I should say, rinascimento. Very elegant, and still practical.
It looks like someone is standing behind him and holding his waist. Kinda funny. The hands are too small for this large man
the overcoat is absolutely amazing! that shade of blue really pops up the entire black wardrobe of his.
Love the pose and the ton sur ton!
The prussian blue gloves "to match" the scarf take the look somewhere beyond well dressed and out into easily trying to hard. In a world where few make the effort anymore, he should not be criticized. It is such an art to get it right.
I think he looks wonderful. I don't know about people who look 'insane' because they dress a little different, but very very chic. Uh, check your mirror, dude.
Damn! What a drama queen! I hope he has somewhere to go where people appreciate putting so much thought into an outfit.
simply majestic.
Love the gloves! And a man in a cape is to die for! I wear them often in winter, hell even in summer so I lust over him! www.fashionbaggage.com
The combination of colours is stunning. This background is a perfect match for the outfit.
http://davidikus.blogspot.com
The scarf and coat... :D I want it in my wardrobe.
Woah, so blue! Nice!

what an elegant man! wow!

I swear I see a man in blue gloves for the first time. And he looks gorgeous!!! Most men are so conservative and he is very original... I wonder what is he wearing tomorrow?? I'd like to see :-)
Nice peacoat. Where can I get that coat, and who is it by? Any suggestions? Send them to questroizac@yahoo.com
Thanks
yesterday i saw a video about you... and all I can say is that I want to meet you someday!!! amazing work Scott! keep doing!
xx
More than blue.
The right blue...
Everywhere.
colours so full of pigment!
oH, love it!
those different shades of blue are so flattering. They match his skin tone perfectly. As someone said above, its really a renaissance-like look! I like a lot!
LOVE the whole look!! And his facial expression, perfect!
XO thefashionguitar
Don't think I've seen a man in a cape since Napoleon! He looks quite composed here with it worn open, but I imagine he might look a bit silly walking around with it buttoned up. Not sure I'm ready for my next date to show up in a cape.
very chic. I love the mix of the different tones of blue.
www.styleisalwaysfashionable.blogspot.com
Snooty, but definitely SHARP!
Great colours, even cape and cap look deep blues not blacks to me.
Interesting twist of Asian features with historic English/European style.
Love the blue long Pashmina scarf - iffy on a guy but he cuts it.
The cap gives a nice pop to it all.
Classy stimulating shot Scott - good post!
it's too much for me!
www.fashionessence-anna.blogspot.com
Impressive against that bolted door. Thanks.
his pose and general look of discomfort indicate his lack of self esteem, and, thus, the need to dress in this theatrical 'fashion'
top colour...
Amazing! I can't believe that yoyu found somebody like this man on the street!
Beautiful Blue!

nice shapes!
love that blue color

I've owned for for about 15 years and it is just lovely.
rebecca p: I don't see how someone's expression caught in an instant on camera tells a viewer they lack self-esteem! What a presumption about someone's state of mind. Either admire what he's wearing or don't: it's about fashion, not the person's psyche or personality, which we certainly can't discern from a photo.
What a Don!
love the face expression
It's that creepy, old wooden door behind him that really holds the look together.
Love that blue-black color set, cape and blue glove action. His blue influences blue hues and vice versa. Nice shot against the background.
Most of the people that populate Florence during Pitti Uomo doesn't look real, they're "masked" to be noticed... Anyway I like this guy.
Scott, I still like your shots from Florence best.
Just love this pic! I like alle the blue it's really god to him!
Amazing !!! i absolutely in love !!

I love the blue leather gloves, they must age so nicely, like a good pair of brown ones.
His pose and the clothes remind me of old portraits of kings.
And do I see strange stiching patterns on his trousers?
This years man is Chinese .
Love. it. Love the shine on the gloves. Killer.

Great cape and great attitude...
http://elcoolhunteraccidental.blogspot.com/
I love this photo! This man looks amazing.
Very interesting!
This photo makes me so happy! The way he's wearing several slightly different shades of blue against that gorgeous rust background, the cape and beret combo which is made perfect by the clasped hands, the tilt of his head and that almost smug look. So dramatic. One of my favorites ever from you.
fancy.. uptight!
The black and blue together are fantastic-the blue gloves surprised me!
Perfect réserve. Je me sens comme une plongée dans le bleu.
I think that I am the only person who does not like the blue gloves. However, the muffler, jeans and the mock-t all work.. Is it a cape or a coat? Whatever it is, I want one. The ivy cap pulled to the side is not unusual. I could see walking around most places in the USA dressed similarly to this, but with black gloves.
perfect background of the rusty-orange-wood. complimentary colours.
The deep shades of blue with the light brown wood door in the background is a beautiful palette.
What a strong presence....Beautiful!
He looks amazing! The different shades of blue are a great combination. This photo makes me think of a superhero/bad guy movie. I love it!
perfect and warm outfit!!! kisses from Spain ;)
The various shades of blue never fail to make me feel serene. This includes fashion, design, architecture and marine landscapes too,
Love it!
this is lovely portrait
Navy should be the new black... Everything everyone makes in black should be made in navy just for 1 year when I'm rich so I can stock up.
I'm always struggling to find nice navy shoes.
He's got great colour sense, but why so serious?
attitude
http://andthespidersfrommars.blogspot.com/
Sart, I've never felt the need or urge to comment, but this picture is nothing short of brilliant. Breathtaking. And not just gorgeous; I see several real interesting stories in it, too. Not sure yet if he's the good guy or the bad guy. ;)
hmm - looks too put together... doesn't quite have an authentic feel to it
the epitome of elegance
everytime i visit your blog, i'm in awe. this photo's not an exception. cool! <33

wow
comfy, cozy and stylish.
this is such a pulled together look. CHARMING.
If he lost the scarf, that look would be totally pimp. The coat and the gloves are brilliant.
http://whitemaleasianfemaleculture.blogspot.com/
fantastic look, indeed. how many hours does he take to choose he's clothes?
http://www.wearaddiction.etsy.com
omg the gloves!!!!
a truly incredible look.
I live everything on this outfit.Perfect.And that blue of a summer night sky...
Magnificent...I love the days of yore when people use to dress up and seem like they put some effort into it.
The nouveau looks are great, but a classic just stands out like a neon road sign! Nice for the "dressers" among us to receive some recognition...they certainly deserve it for their efforts and our aesthetic treat.

He looks right out of a movie set. The Asian Lawrence Olivier.
Whos Pitto Umo?
I love it. The blue is such a stark contrast when thrown up against black.
... cognac background + polished, tailored blues in the front ... ah, it looks so right.
Also, can this man pick a scarf, or what?
Bit contrived for me, but enjoy the blue gloves, and overall monotone of the look.
perfection in every detail. stunning. takes my breath away!
awesome photo, the back drop sets the foreground off pefectly...<3
Lautrec is smiling...
Is it the cape? The hat? The combination of blues against the rugged brown background? I think it is all those and his face - powerful and determined. As if the cape had another purpose other than warmth....
http://violetsdayblog.blogspot.com/
How fantastic and dramatic!
Ah, to be in Florence, where gloves of any color in the rainbow can be found.
Regal and exquisite... Reminds me of those old paintings of Chinese emperors...
woow what an awesome attitude
Everything is Okay apart from your trousers.
he looks a little bit like Henry VIII of England :D
The outfit is great, but not half as impressive as his chin!
Absolutely gorgeous. This could be Renaissance Florence. Just goes to show that great style is timeless.
quite good for a japanese :D
wow ... Beautiful! so elegant :D
Great dresses. Beautifull
Such a classy looking man! Love the navy scarf under the cape. elegant look
I love it!! The Godfather of Milan.
So beautiful and elegant.
Love it!
I think this gentleman has been featured on this blog before: http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/2010/02/on-streetbrown-orange-p2-pitti-uomo.html
He has impeccable style. And wonderful taste in outerwear.
jajaja there's something NEFARIOUS about that show of gloved hands. like he's committed murder but the print of the unique gloves is what gets him caught. too foppish for me ,)
