I absolutely love this. The use of color is perfect. This outfit could be lived in!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
Pretty girl, but no. Lightweight summer skirt and winter everything else just doesn't work for me.
pretty pretty pretty.
Great to see! love it
oh la la !!
she is beautiful
I love that dress...and shoes!!
Kisses from Madrid,
María
The red bag is what really makes the outfit pop!
It adds that right element of color! The hats pretty groovy too!
I especially like her bag!
Love the hat, coat and shoes. Would need to see more of the dress to decide - looks a little tablecloth-ish. But, Hey! Rock your style girl.
(am I first to comment!?)
What a lovely outfit understated folksy and totally elegant.
Lynnxxx
(shoot, not the first)
Also want to add the hat reminds me of Amy Irving channeling Annie Hall in the movie Crossing Delancey. Good snarky line from David Hyde-Pierce.
wonderful color and clogs!

The skirt reminds me of the materials people use to make clothes in the SE Asia hill tribes :)

As an Australian myself, when the picture had only loaded down to her neck, I thought to myself, "Yep! Outback Shiela!" As i scrolled down all i thought was: ...Wow.
Love the skirt/dress. Really pops and makes the outfit so unique.
love her dress!!!
I love the texture of her coat and how it acts as a foregrounding for the array of colours on her dress.
http://plutotlamode.blogspot.com
Love it - not a lot of people can pull off this look though.

what beautiful porcelain skin!
Very delicious!

In theory this ensemble should strike fear into the hearts of fashionistas everywhere. Loud patterns? chunky open-toed shoes? Thermofleece-esque overcoat and oversized felt hat? What has the world come to!? But somehow this (extremely pretty) girl manages to make the whole thing look elegantly flung together and really quite chic. How and why it works we will never know, but somehow it does. X

Love the bag, loathe the skirt.
With a face like that, she could look amazing wearing anything.
i like the red bag and her dress:)
http://sehrose.blogspot.com/
Such a super hat and such a super stance!
Not everyone can rock that skirt like that. This woman does that beautifully. Interesting combination with that hat.
love her skirt!

Daring, Exudes confidence.
Does it "work"? It woke my eyes up, so, yeah.

A happy combination of everything.
And very nicely captured, as always.
The scarf seems like a small detail at first, but it really does wonders for the overall look..
cute

If Nicole Holofcener makes a sequel to 'Lovely and Amazing,' she must cast this Aussie delight!

cute
That bag!!!!!
I enjoy that mixture. All those colors together reflect coolness and innocence.
Always inspiring. Godspeed, good sir.

I love the street!
http://seriouslyrainbowing.blogspot.com/
very cute!
but i have to say that is most definitely not a PS1. The buckle, straps, and handle are a dead giveaway....
so true, not everyone can pull this off...but she does - lovely!
The chic and off-beat styling is reminiscent of the 1960s arts and crafts movement. The gorgeous red bag and substantial open-toed shoes provide a 2010 twist. She has quite a pretty pose, too!
So pretty! Love the bag!

What a bold and wonderful look. I still don't understand how girls manage to walk in sandals and socks - there must be a anti-slipping trick!
Love it!!!!
She looks a bit like Keira Knightley!
Love the entire ensemble. Brings new meaning to Boho chic. XO Valerie

I love her boho style.

I am so much feeling this look, it resonates in me. The colours, the patterns, the fabrics, the proportions. Ooh, pure love! This portrait inspires me to be more so I would feel alive and well and beautiful.
She's so pretty
She looks fantastic! Love her funky hippy mix and those cheekbones!
I love how the skirt just sticks out below the jacket. It's very uniform until that dollop of vibrant colors.
just got a hat just like this from bcbg and i am in love. what a great look.
www.greeneggsandglam.blogspot.com
take the Mulberry bag of autumn color, put on anything yet.. - and you are wonderfull.
Nice
Beautiful! I love that she is still bringing bright, beautiful colors into her winter outfit instead of just black!
Cheers,

Love it all.
pretty face, cute style, AMAZING BAG!!!
she is lovely!
I wonder how much thought went into this look was it thrown together or more studied, could go either way. she's cute and fresh and confident and I like that in a woman.
Her skirt is such a beautiful pop of color! It's refreshing to see a break from the typical grey and black New Yorker winter uniform.
http://watermelonfeet.blogspot.com
Hello gorgeousness! She has wonderful taste.
Gorgeous!!
Gorgeous!!
Overall her look is great. The hat is beautiful! <3 But I'm not really feeling the mixture of fabrics...
Excellent.
GREAT jacket. I love those big pockets.

I. LOVE. HER.
top to toe.
beautiful. just enough artistic flair to keep it interesting without overwhelming you. reminds me of my college girlfriend.
I love the red purse, as for the rest, welll, not so much. I don't care for the summer dress with black tights and then open toed shoes with a winter jacket.
A really great combo of the pour homme pour femme and boho chic. And that bag is soo cute!
Love this look - somewhat summery but with wintery attire!
What an outfit. This woman pulls it off well! I am impressed and want everything from her hat to her black shoes!-Logan S.
www.fashionsparklers.blogspot.com
Now this is what I call style because it not contrived, not plagued with too many designer pieces right on trend, certain level of oringiality but most importantly she wears her clothes well instead of just being a hanger that is showcasing clothes.
Love the combination, but must be said that only a beautiful girl like this could pull it off. Could be Little-girl-let-loose-in -granny's-wardrobe-esque
Emma-Tiffany @ www.welovebluestockings.com
I second you on that Betabees :)
She's very pretty and looks relaxed in her clothes!
Great photo.. she is stunning!
loving her hat
LOx
Yesss!xx
Such a beautiful girl. I love her look, except would have preferred an equally colorful fall or winter print skirt to this one, which looks a little too summery/cotton-y with everything else. But she looks so pretty and cozy, it really doesn't matter. After all, it is spring in Australia, right?
jane has got a gunnnnn
SPEECHLESS. I really like her style especially the combination between her long skirt and that type of coat but what I really like is the color of her PS1.
What a pretty girl. Though I'd rather see something more seasonal than her summery skirt. Great style otherwise.
I'd love to see what's under the coat.
Wonderful eclectic high/low dressing. Beautiful photograph too.
beautiful bag!!
lotteryholly.blogspot.com
Shades of Anita Pallenburg. She's lovely and not entirely approachable.
That PS1 is absolutely stunning! Quirky outfit that works somehow...although I cannot imagine it here in Oz.
xx
love the dress/skirt!!!!!!!
So beautiful, its good to see your POV in the good ole USA..

Love this look - a great mix of colours & textures. Her hat seals the deal x Emma
Beautiful girl, beautiful outfit. Has style written all over her. Love the bright skirt in winter, always in need of a bit of colour :)
And where is she on the student tours that pass me every day? Australia has plenty of sunshine, Boston needs her!
wow totally loved the look and the skirt is really cool !!!
colorful skirt - beautiful!
MY BESTFRIEND IS ON THAT SAME TOUR WITH THIS GIRL!!
Love the colorful skirt! Looks like a Southeast Asian Hmong dress. I'd be curious to know where she got it...
http://www.fashionablybombed.com
I love her red bag because it seems match all together the other colours
great bag, pretty girl but the skirt....NO NO NO!
loving the neutrals with the pattern peeking through! the sartorialist does no wrong!

Makes me very proud to be Australian :) I especially love her gorgeous hat.
I like a lot this boho chic :)
with that confidence and beautiful face you can wear anything well.
Pretty, stunning and the bag looks great!
I love it! Nice skirt and coat and the shoes fit so well with the wholw outfit...
Kisses
Wanna know about the red bag??????
it's an AMEKO, i am fond of this brand i've got one in red too ;-)
I really love her bag! xx
There are definitely some looks one should never try to copy, but admire from afar. This is one of them. She makes it look good. I'd look like a bag lady, sigh...
thrown together chic that works - loving it!
Love it ! Also was a best choice to put clogs w tights ....

She is beautiful!
Love her shoes, her bag, her hat, her... well, I guess I just like everything about her.
I loved the hat, the purse, the skirt. I loved everything.
Pretty girl but No.. Stockings with open toe, summer dress under winter coat, hat just no
I go to uni with her. She is always immaculately dressed.
LOVE the bag! Timeless!
Inspired from the colors in her dress (skirt?), scarf and bag. Sensational.
if she weren't so beautiful and the proportions pleasing, this would have been a Glamour 'Don't' back in the day
loooove her outfit ! perfect !

wants her bag!
http://www.istanbulfashionaddict.blogspot.com/
That looks really good!
This girl is absolutely georgous. Thats what makes the look.
Olithée
Really original.
The dress is as a sunbeam.
LOVE IT !
This looks like a Thai hill tribe skirt, I have a couple and they are really heavy pleated cotton canvas with wool embroidery, summer colours yes, but they weigh a ton!
I am so in love with her fabulous purse <3
You look amazing J! Had heaps of fun with you on the trip! E x
hypnotic
not a fan of the outfit, but she's gorgeous!
Shouldn't work, but somehow does!
http://www.zoecheng.com/
awful. pretty girl but no style here at all, move along. it's just unfocused, mixed seasons, color tones, awful.
Id say the most aussie thing about this ensemble is the red satchel which, if I'm not mistaken, is made by the iconic Australian label Country Road. I have the same, except mine hasn't worn nearly as nicely as the one in this photo.
Kudos lady, giving us fellow aussies a good international sartorial rep! x
actually i think it is a slovenian skirt, in my village in serbia there ia all these slovenian women who wear these. I like how she took the traditional outfit and integrated it into everyday wear.
The knock off PS1 is killing me :( KILLING me
i instantly recognized this as the profile picture for callalilai. i love that store!
100% sure the bag is by Country Road. I have the mushroom coloured version sitting on the floor next to me at the moment.
Don't like the way the textures of the dress and jacket combine. Makes both look cheap.
