I do not love this no-sock trend. It looks silly.

Anonymous jimjims said ... (5:09 PM) :

no socks... stinky feet.

but it makes for a great look.

o the sacrifices we make to look good...

Anonymous micio said ... (5:12 PM) :

Dude, it gets pretty cold in those old stone buildings in Paris this time of year. How about some socks?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:17 PM) :

The colour of that suit is fantastic

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:22 PM) :

Looks a bit like Robert Downey Jr.

Blogger Mi Satake said ... (5:28 PM) :

Very handsome. Perfect!

Anonymous Poindexter said ... (5:40 PM) :

Seeing a lot of this army-type green lately and loving it - especially when the fabric is cut so well, like the suit Mr. Cortina is rocking.

Blogger Rafael Franco said ... (5:41 PM) :

I love the color and the glasses.

kisses from Brazil*

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:41 PM) :

It's the glasses!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:42 PM) :

The no-sock look is here to stay.

Blogger One Man's Style said ... (5:55 PM) :

Go Green

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:41 PM) :

That's what I call stile in middle age.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:44 PM) :

Call me crazy but I am getting sick of no socks... especially as we head into fall and winter. It is time to bring out the great socks.

Blogger 1. Roy Barker said ... (7:15 PM) :

I think that a suit without socks is a sin, regardless of age, gender, style etc. It looks cheap, try hard and undermines any sense of style the subject actually has. This is a case in point - the guy clearly has style, but has let himself down, no end. (and yes, his feet will smell of cheese and his partner will not be pleased)

Anonymous Rebecca said ... (7:28 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:30 PM) :

The "No Sock" is getting as silly as "Sagging"!

Blogger Andrey P. said ... (7:34 PM) :

Great style, but why this trend of no socks? It just makes it look like his pants aren't long enough. Great photo though

Blogger Francesca Robertson said ... (7:38 PM) :

hes got great taste. only few men can pull of shoes with no socks!

F <-- Make sure you enter my Tory Burch giveaway!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:38 PM) :

I agree. The no sock thing has run it's course and similarly, once that is over, men can start wearing decent length pants again since they won't need to be broadcasting to the world that they aren't be wearing socks.

This can't end soon enough for me.

Anonymous JohnMichael said ... (7:48 PM) :

Is anyone able to identify the glasses?

Anonymous ds said ... (8:01 PM) :

Hemingway hated socks.

Blogger Angelica Ng said ... (8:16 PM) :

No socks and shoes again! It's funny how women are now wearing socks with heels, but men are doing the opposite!

Blogger Taylor said ... (8:18 PM) :

he looks like he is up to something! i do love the look, though, so poised and very professional yet stylish!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:30 PM) :

I usually wear long socks haha
1word to describe him: elegance

Blogger fig said ... (9:40 PM) :

My husband is from Miami and has not worn socks for all the years were together! and he has some gorgeous hand made shoes. Style, is style, is style i...

Blogger Admin said ... (10:21 PM) :

He's not a fan of the iron i see..

Anonymous Maryanne said ... (10:36 PM) :

if women can do the no-stocking look in the midst of winter, then
men can do the no sock look autumn 2010.

Blogger Frozen Fashion said ... (12:46 AM) :

This photo has so much attitude!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:24 AM) :

It's time to put the socks back on and let the pant legs out.

Blogger ZHENYA ZHURAVLYOVA said ... (1:36 AM) :

beautiful man!))

Blogger Lee Oliveira said ... (1:37 AM) :

The no sock look was featured heavily in Europe this summer. I think I will definately be featuring this downunder this coming summer.

Anonymous Screaming-Mouth said ... (1:38 AM) :

Love the look, but not sure it's meant for October...?

Blogger anthony said ... (1:39 AM) :

Sockless Mr Cortina just lost his street cred.

Blogger mixedtapediaries said ... (3:03 AM) :

Aaah Sir Cotina. Be still my heart. Be still.

Ta for my cup of taste for the day Sir Sartorial

Blogger Eryl said ... (4:21 AM) :

Is it a trick of the tailoring, I wonder, or does he actually have such (proportionately) long legs? Whichever it is, the shape, and length, of his trousers is very attractive.

Interesting how destabilized so many people are by the absence of socks. I have a colleague who feels the same way about apostrophes.

Blogger TheStreetFashion5xpro said ... (4:31 AM) :

great style

Anonymous said ... (4:40 AM) :

Somehow - it doesn't do it for me. My reaction would be different for an Italian guy wearing the same thing in Milan.

Blogger Hiroaki Nagahata said ... (6:06 AM) :

nice round shaped grasses!!

Blogger May Brady said ... (6:41 AM) :

Perfectly comfortable and stylish. I particularly like the open buckle on his shoe/s.

Blogger Thinman said ... (7:33 AM) :

Enough of the no sock nonsense!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:56 AM) :

Men's shoes have to get a whole lot more interesting to pull this thing off. This "look" is only halfway there. (and I hope it never gets there.)

Anonymous CICIDI said ... (8:32 AM) :

men wearing no socks = casual and dressy at the same time! love it.

Blogger wasabitoothpaste said ... (8:34 AM) :

i wish more men in my country can dress a bit more like this elegant guy

Anonymous jenny said ... (9:50 AM) :

i miss his sunglasses!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:12 AM) :

I think we've reached the tipping point here: With apologies to this guy in the photo, but "no socks" has become too much of a contrivance. Strange how such a simple thing for men can set off such debate -- and that's exactly the reason not to go sockless. The debate is getting tired. The contrivance looks tired. Let's head to the sock drawer and move on.

Anonymous proletarian Great Gatsby said ... (11:02 AM) :

Why is fashion ostracism of socks?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:05 PM) :

Oh his little toes must be fro. Brrr.

Blogger EML said ... (12:22 PM) :

where did he leave his sunglasses?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:38 PM) :

I am also continuing to go sockless this fall, and will continue into the winter until I can't bear it anymore. I am happy to report that I continue to see alot of other guys still doing it here in NYC. (I will admit though, it's even less comfortable in the cooler weather...kind of cold and clammy...).

Blogger Barbara von Enger said ... (1:19 PM) :

In the Caribbean - no socks has always been fashionable - Europe is just catching on.

He might be wearing a pair of these tiny, invisible socks, though. Either way he looks so attractive - and I adore his Facial expression along with those spectacles;-)

Anonymous joe t said ... (1:28 PM) :

When i grow up , want to be just like Mr. Cortina ! even just for a day,,,,, lov his look, he seems to carry it off with just ease,

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:39 PM) :

Love the color of the suit.

The open buckles and kind of half turned-up jacket collar give a cool edge to the look.

He's a stylist right, so it's all probably well thought over..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:10 PM) :

These pieces are fierce! I found some great wholesale finds at as well!!!

Blogger Christina said ... (3:25 PM) :

I love George! His style is amazing.

Anonymous Heather said ... (3:41 PM) :

He needs to put some socks on. Black or brown socks would be great for this outfit.

Blogger rose said ... (10:35 AM) :

Why do suits look classier sans socks? It shouldn't make sense but it does...

Blogger Pam said ... (11:15 AM) :

I always love pics of Mr. Cortina, he is eternally chic!!

Blogger Sophia said ... (1:37 PM) :

Does he never wear socks? it seems so. I love his glasses.

Blogger IN TERMS OF ME said ... (5:31 PM) :

He always look sharper than ever

Anonymous Lex said ... (6:55 AM) :

Please stop this "put some socks on" nonsense... you may dislike the look, but the "stinky feet" part is rubbish!!!

BTW I think he looks great. The shape and color of his glasses and the way the collar of his jacket is up but nicely folded.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:58 PM) :

I like his shoes!

Blogger Milt-fresh_best-dressed said ... (4:05 PM) :

Anonymous Fashion Photography said ... (11:45 AM) :

well this pic generated a lot of discussion,l this is what it is all about! I personally prefer socks on with formal shoes, but that is just me!

Anonymous Jamie Prince said ... (9:46 AM) :

That overall look is one of the best I've ever seen. Amazing.

Anonymous LW at The Fistful of Words said ... (11:59 AM) :

Big fan of the no socks look.

Sid Mashburn has it perfected.

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:21 PM) :

do you think he'd marry me?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:34 PM) :

Fashion seems to always follow once the masses make a style fashionable it plays itself out.
The whole "sans" sock thing and it's "Deliberate Nonchalance" is now passe.............NEXT.
However GC who is a creative seems to always get it right...even if the monk strap unstrapped is a bit pretentious....but I digress.....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:18 PM) :

he's wearing socks. he gets ankle socks, cuts them in half, slips his foot into only the to portion, and VOILA! not sure how much chicer it gets.....

Blogger ukashv said ... (8:42 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:21 AM) :

So chic it is! Today in NYC the temperature is 39 degrees, and I can't believe it, but I am wearing my wingtips with no socks. Saw lots of other guys flasing ankle as well, so I'm not alone. I will keep this up until I can't bear it anymore.

Anonymous aurora said ... (8:08 AM) :

his backward glance clinches it.
