Blogger Alexandra said ... (3:28 PM) :

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:30 PM) :

Nice! I just wore a dress that looks like this!!! I am very attracted to this style, although I was attending a funeral when I wore it so I couldn't rock the sneakers...

Blogger Shoelosophy said ... (3:30 PM) :

Chucks are the quintessential shoe, complete lack of fuss, and completely stylish. Despite my closet full of shoes and my job designing them, I always end up wearing chucks. You can do just about anything in them until they are destroyed and then they are blessedly affordable so you can buy another pair. People love to make lists about wardrobe essentials and what-not, and if I were to make one, yes, chucks would be higher up than the ultimate commandment, thou shalt own a black trench.

Anonymous rebekah said ... (3:30 PM) :

Love the thick scarf - it's like a blanket wrapped around her next! - contrasted with the white converse! Perfect for juuust before Memorial Day.

sometimes simple is the nicest!

Anonymous mabelmabel said ... (3:54 PM) :

Simplicity is beautiful, and always looks confident.

Love the simple scarf, simply draped.

Focus on single item reminds of something I once read somewhere: the more scarves (for example) we own, the less we like each one of them.

Thanks for the always timely reminder, Scott--and lovely woman.

Anonymous Armitag said ... (3:54 PM) :

Blogger BobKentNoVa said ... (5:20 PM) :

Converse Chuck Taylor basketball shoes: I wore them in middle school and high school to play basketball, and that's about all. I've never been able to warm up to them as a high-style wardrobe element, for men or women.

I think the basic womens' Keds or Tretorns would work much better than the Chucks for this woman.

Blogger Ubi Minor said ... (5:24 PM) :

nice legs ;)

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (5:37 PM) :

My kind of style - casual and comfortable! x

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:41 PM) :

she's gorgeous

Blogger CW said ... (5:50 PM) :

A nice jelly doughnut, this Berliner. :-)

Simple style, however, she should ditch the long scarf while biking and definitely while on a motorcycle to avoid winding up like Isadora Duncan.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:53 PM) :

ARGH, I so need to get me a good DSLR now! Every time I look at these, they make me wanna go take pictures :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:53 PM) :

Oh gawd ... I want those legs! I'm a Chuck Taylor freak, but I can never make the sneakers look so cool. What really fascinates me about her is not so much the legs - many girls have them, but her effortless coolness.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:53 PM) :

love the huge scarf, so comfy!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:05 PM) :

I'm wondering what sort of magazine she might have bought at "do you read me?!"...
This adds some mystery to her simple appearance.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:09 PM) :

Great Pic!
I've photos of Berlin ,too, in my new post on my blog:

Blogger Vera Maria said ... (6:23 PM) :

Blogger Lee Oliveira said ... (6:59 PM) :

Is that a Jill Sander dress?
She loosks great!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:04 PM) :

I think dancers often look the best because they're usually so comfortable with their bodies. I wish I had control over my body like a dancer can.

Blogger Sarah Bentivegna said ... (7:43 PM) :

cool and collected!

Blogger Prutha Raithatha said ... (7:50 PM) :

Blogger Sophia L said ... (10:08 PM) :

Blogger stoneandcloth said ... (11:12 PM) :

Simple and delicate.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:49 PM) :

It's her hair, it's her scarf

Blogger kathrynnova said ... (12:15 AM) :

can anyone ever get sick of chucks? and i love the drama in the scarf.

the question marks on the bag for some reason remind me of the font from the movie "if..."

she's very very lovely.

Anonymous See Your Style said ... (12:29 AM) :

So much personality in a simple pair of Chuck Taylors.

Blogger Lucy Laucht said ... (12:53 AM) :

that´s great!

Blogger Melissa Z. said ... (5:03 AM) :

Great pic! Love the casual style of this girl!

Blogger Gary said ... (6:20 AM) :

As always, you choose the perfect background for the portrait. The colors match perfectly (scarf / façades). I LOVE her very inclined pose, and of course she's very pretty and well dressed. but I think that what does the photo are the question marks on her bag (+ the pose). The graphic touch.

Blogger Magdalena said ... (6:23 AM) :

I'm often in Berlin, because I have some friends there and I can say that THIS is definitely the typical Berlin style. So great!!!

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:41 AM) :

I adore that line of her body, and the way she's played with her silhouette with the (fabulous) scarf and the striking, well, blackness of the dress.

And I love how the shoes and bag balance those.

Awesome look.

Anonymous Anabelle said ... (7:21 AM) :

Makes me wanna go out and buy some cream Converseee (to wear w/ jersey dresses)

Anonymous Joanna Roman said ... (7:26 AM) :

Hope all is well at the North Pole.

All the best to Mrs. Claus, Rudolf and the other reindeer.

I love that picture from the bicycle to the question mark of her bag(also in black & white)and the grey paving stones...the beach under the paving stones("sous les pavés la plage" how they said in '68)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:58 PM) :

Remember the Aussie model who had on a filthy pair of these kicks? Well, this is how you wear 'em and this is how they should look. Great picture - again.

Anonymous Mary said ... (2:36 PM) :

This combination of some basic items can look quite trendy.

Anonymous ClosetConfections said ... (3:15 PM) :

Lovely. It's nice to know that we don't have to wear heels all the time to look chic... Although having the long, lean legs of a dancer probably helps A LOT!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:02 PM) :

Basically, what they said. It's comfy yet stylish, and that what draws me. Anyone can try to be beautiful, but not many can do it like this.

And DAMN her legs.
-Works out-

Anonymous Sara Lua said ... (5:13 PM) :

Dancers make the best models with their poetic face expressions!

I wish such true style & beauties were in San Francisco.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:19 PM) :

The picture is great- it even makes that ugly building in the back look somehow interesting. The opposite goes for her look - a beautiful girl, but dressed in a boring way...

Blogger Princess Nora said ... (5:43 PM) :

Hi!! she´s sweet and natural

This picture/girl very much captures a common spirit and even style in dancers. It's feminine and simplistic and beautiful while also functional and comfortable. I love that her scarf ends around the same place as her dress and her tousled, chunky bangs. Wonerful.
