Comments on "On the Street.....Earth tones & Sunshine, Milano"
Earth tone , allways natural, simple and elegant in everybody
thee most beautiful style gladiator sandals i've seen yet. could do with a gold pair of those!
She looks great !
Nb : I was so disappointed to miss you @ Colette when you signed your amazing book. I would be so glad to keep a "souvenir". I hope that you will come back among us, in Paris.
Nevertheless, your book is great !
Scott, it was such a pleasure to meet you last night in SF! Please keep shooting in Milan - I hope to bump into you there one day. Ciao!
Top - That SMILE.
Bottom - Them sandals.
Those colours complement her skin perfectly, and I'd like to have that sweater myself!
www.openzedoor.blogspot.com
for me it is the balance
the jumper is long but not too long
the skirt is short but not too short
and the necklace adds that flash of magic
I really like this style.
couldn't agree more.
she looks like effortless perfection.
I love it!!
great outfit!
www.FashionSnag.com
spectacular. love the confidence of the simple 70s hair and surprisingly short skirt. thanks sartorialist!
please girls, look at the grace of her feet/shoes compared to those Somerset Maughm orthopedic torture shoe we so often see on this site.
Great hair and sunglasses too.
I wonder if environment may have played a part in her choices at a subconscious level? (Or any of us for that matter). I love how the colour of the wall behind her is the perfect backdrop for her outfit.
Holy sunkissed!
great picts, great blog!
mablingthing.blogspot.com
love this, so natural and great. i love black and brown together!
She rested her feet all summer so she can wear her spikes all winter...Perfect idea of what an Italian should look like no?
she looks beautiful, so natural.

love this look and the coloring of the sun makes the photo even better!
Clean and natural. Not even paint on her toes.
This is tone on tone chic - so simple but really hard to pull off. She has such gorgeous hair!
The warmth of her smile is irresistible! Her outfit is simple, uncluttered, balanced and comfy.
I love the way you've captured the light on and around her - she looks aglow.
I love that her shirt seems to be some sort of sweatshirt material, but she still looks chic. You can always tell when someone is completely comfortable in what they're wearing.
atticusshop.com
It is very chic. The tone is soo nice and matches her very well.
http://mushitushi.blogspot.com
Belissimo...or however its spelled. I love monochromatic dressing only I always end up looking weird or fat...she look awesome! I love how her skin tone is complimented by that wall in the background which goes with the upper part of the bag. Parfait!
she is lovely.
Love the sweater and the color combination
That lighting is absolutely exquisite.
It is the details in deed! I really like everything she's wearing and how casual she looks!
http://www.fashionmemoires.blogspot.com
Lovely! Just confirms my view - Milan has the most stylish people. (And captured so well by The Sartorialist of course!)
She looks stunning
i really love this. the colors are harmonious and pleasing and it looks as if any woman of any age could wear it, feel comfortable and have confidence that she doesn't look like a tool or a fashion victim.
the woman is beautiful and healthy. and those are the best gladiators i've ever seen.
Thank you Anon for telling us where to get those great sandals! Ubiquitous in Athens, two of the greatest sandal shops are the famous Pantelis Melissinos and Gesouras - www.ges-sandals.gr. Indeed, she looks chic, comfortable and beautiful! -SS, Portland OR
So simple and so pretty! She has such a nice expression too...
Being italian. Wow, what great karma!
So inviting. Love it.
http://underfundedheiress.blogspot.com/
Beautiful lighting that reflects her personality in this shot. I like the outfit too, but that bag is what I really want! It looks unique.
God, I miss sun!
juliet xxx
oh, i love those gladiators.
sadly i live in vancouver so mine hardly get a chance to enjoy this kind of beautiful sunshine. :(
the light effects are also great. especially on her purse.
such a great mix, the outfit is amazing. sometimes its the simplicity that makes the look work.
great photo!
She's precious.. reminds me of Jamie-Lynn Siegler.. also precious! i'm picky about gladiators and these I love! The photo and girl are beautiful!
I want to kiss her. She looks so nice.
Just fab...her style to her lovely smile!! :)
From what I can see of that bag, I love it! The outfit is nice..and the weather looks delightful:)
http://loveyourfabulousself.blogspot.com/
great portrait and beautiful model! love the colors and her smile. sexy.
I think her beauty is much in her SMILE!
Oooh, such a stunner.
Beautiful woman. She's radiant-- literally glowing! You notice her, not what she's wearing, or the bag she's carrying. Timeless.
--PLO
After the many fashion victims of your former pictures taken in Milan, evviva this simple look!
Ciao
Cristina
It heps that she's kind of HOT too.
I think that you are absolutely correct on the details, especially the v neck of her sweater. It looks like a man's sweater, they have the best V necks for a woman.
I totally agree with you, simple outfit, but SO SO chic & effortless...gorgeous!
An all-around beautiful capture.
She's caught the secret of simplicity, love it. Truly how I try to create my style, with a few simple pieces that together make out a great total impression.
Actually, I think the beautiful girl is what makes the outfit special!
Wait-what was the comment about Somerset Maugham? He's one of my favorite writers--did he wear torture shoes or something?
I think italians do that best (viz. Scott's remarks). i' m italian and i do nothing but criticizing my land and people etc..i guess you grow out of that...but anyway a little praise goes to this particular ability of being chic by means of very discrete (sartorial) details...
simplicity is the name of the game
most cute girl ever!
great lighting
I love the long sleeves and sandals. She pulls off this fall look flawlessly.
It was great meeting you in Dallas!
http://backyardrevival.blogspot.com/
Love the lighting of this shot...it makes me miss Italy! I love her burst-of-summer, carefree style...everything just works so perfectly!
She is so elegant.
Beautiful!
Anyone know who designed those shoes? They look like Miu Mius but I've never seen that style before...
This is interesting. She is the first woman I see in dozens of blogs lately that is Not wearing boots but sandals. lol Armani inspired? Maybe. She looks stunning.
i love love LOVE this outfit...perfect for a lovely day in Milan. It is so simple yet eye catching because it really fits who I believe this young lady is...
Thank you so much for coming to San Francisco! It was such a pleasure to meet you!
I'm the Chloe who you said bye to over the intercom.
Thank you for making my night! (And tell Garance I can't wait for her book!)
@ Dis(clothes)ed - the gladiators are zara
You're right Sartorial, and so... italian!
really chic!
stjarna
she is physically so beautiful, this makes the outfit attractive.
soft, earthy, captured the warm side of Autunm in this photograph. Lovely.
To me this is perfect. So many people that you photograph try to hard to look good. This seems totally unstudied and its so nice.
The colors, the bag, the sandals, her bracelet, sunglasses, hair. All just right.
I always say this..but I love how you really admire the small details and how they contribute to the outfit as a whole.
http://fashionroadkill-halifax.blogspot.com
Very nice. No cell phone, no cigarette, no stilettos. Perfect!
That's right, ladies and germs. As Leonardo Da Vinci said - Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. She is the kind of lady your mamma would be proud of. Bellissima. Ciao bella.
Pietro
i wish she had high heels
Her clothing is simple and casual but I bet it's all quality stuff. Especially that bag - to die for. Love the neutrals, short skirt under long but not bulky sweater, would love to see the necklace, like the shoes that fade into her feet, and she looks comfortable. Proportions are perfect.
You're spot-on about the outfit, but my favourite part of the shot is how the light doesn't just hit her, it illuminates her. It catches the chains on her bag and the colours in her hair and kind of wraps her in a glow that you can't get any other way. Perfect.
I love the simplicity in this outfit, and yet it's so stylish. The combination is risky, this kind of shorts with this kind of sandals, but she gets away with it. And how!
Scott, you left out the most important part...she is the subtle detail in the outfit as well as the highlight of it all.
the sweater looks just like the one i own from the gap! i believe it's called the boyfriend sweater. i have it in the same color, i'd know it's bagginess anywhere :D
sandals from zara, sweater from the gap . . . this lady is looking very nice for very little!
Yes! This is BEAUTY! Finally a picture of a beautiful women wearing sensible shoes ! Now I know, I am not the only fashionista who refuses to jump on the stiletto, crazy-high- platform bandwagon that seem to be made to make women uncomfortable and possibly break ankles as well.
Ah... to be a golden ray of sunshine and caress her lovely tresses. Or be reincarnated as that bicycle stand.
Pietro
The bag is a Loewe bag! It's exactly a new version of the Amazona classic by Stuart Vevers. I love it!
Great outfit!
chic and natural!
I love her look!
Shoes were from Zara's summer collection 08/09, I've got it.
Less is more...it works. She's a beauty:)
http://sharifaknows.blogspot.com/
Perfectly balanced by a gracious smile. Very classy.

http://deathtricks.blogspot.com
Her bags seems to be an special edition of Loewe's Amazona. My mother has the same bag.
Best!
Jose
The glasses are a nice accessory to the whole look, they add potential; a nice spark. The gray sweater look makes a charming touch. The necklace and watch are lovely too. The skirt is cute , great fitting and hot what is there left to say?? The shoes are like gladiators very comfy and elegant! Bravo! A+
Simple yet sophisticated. Nice belnding of neutral colors. Her tan, slender shape doesn't hurt either.
I would like her telephon number...
is she wearing the TOPSHOP bandage skirt? I love it!!
