Not sure how I feel about the high waters...

Blogger Jorge from W Palm Beach said ... (9:42 AM) :

I believe most of us who follow fashion have read enough bad press about Thom Browne's shrunken pants. Here is a fresh take on them: what happens when you pair them with regular well-fitted clothes? The effect is not bad at all! I may take 1 or 2 pairs of trousers to my tailor and have them adjusted. I think the look works with dark socks and well-polished dress shoes. Although they look miserable in the cold, I like the green fingerless gloves. Jorge from W Palm Beach

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:47 AM) :

why are the trousers so short!!!

Blogger Dominica said ... (9:48 AM) :

If the coat on the left guy is really thàt green colour, I must say I absolutely adore it !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:04 AM) :

the man on the left is biblical what a great outfit

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:21 AM) :

yes i agree, the man on the left looks really dark and mysterious, like he should get a role in Underworld or something.

Blogger stylethread said ... (10:25 AM) :

The guy on the left looks great. Had the guy on the right's pant legs been more fitted and tapered, I'd be saying the same thing about him too...

Blogger Julicious Fashionicious said ... (10:40 AM) :

I like the guy who is on the right, his green gloves+coat and boots. But another men i dont like his short trousers, and his look isnt zestful.

Blogger sallymandy said ... (11:05 AM) :

The shorter pants work, I think, if the overall proportion with the other pieces is good. The man on the left has shorter pants but because they're tapered and his coat isn't too long, the overall effect is unbroken line.

Blogger Rene Schaller said ... (11:11 AM) :

I like the short trousers, better than to long.

Blogger Stratos Bacalis said ... (11:22 AM) :

I thought the short pant leg fad was over and done with... the rest of them both is utterly perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:32 AM) :

They look relaxed and stylish, there is nothing overdone. I wonder why a lot of people are surprised about the short pants. Many designers showed them on the catwalks since some seasons...so we have two trends: short and wide leg pants.

Blogger soulbitch. said ... (11:42 AM) :

i think the man on the left looks really cool. i really like black color, so im a fan of him and the green fingerless gloves. absolutely fantastic collection. i also like the other man's short pants.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:46 AM) :

I absolutely love the emerald green coat. I wish more men would experiment with colors. This man exemplifies the fact that classic need not be boring!

Blogger Emme A said ... (11:52 AM) :

I am also developing an interest for forest green these days... Short pants work only with high heels, hence mostly on women...!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:53 AM) :

Handsome and Handsome(r). So lovely I am turning a blind eye to the very short trousers.

Blogger junglesiren said ... (11:59 AM) :

Fantastic from the knees up! Great shot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:27 PM) :

Nice colour peacoat. He looks familiar. Did you photograph him in Paris last year? Wearing chinos and a short black coat while smoking and looking equally cold.

Blogger NVA said ... (12:30 PM) :

i like the green pea coat...

Blogger American Otaku (E is my SL) said ... (12:47 PM) :

the man on the left has the attitude of a french-man, and his clothes say "magnifique!"
the man on the right has an attitude of "shut-up!", while his clothes scream "FRENCH!"

Blogger The Clever Pup said ... (1:03 PM) :

These guys look like baddies from Tintin. I love it. I love the "otherworldliness" of them.

Blogger diane said ... (1:09 PM) :

Looks like his little brother's pants to me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:11 PM) :

They are so Euro for being unapologetic while smoking and floodin' and sportin' big, shiney footwear below their floods. Look at those fingerless green (of all colors) gloves and that green DB jacket fitting him to the nth degree and his friend with his fine gray coat and his collar popped up around his fine gray scarf...uggh Euros, so not American and so envy inducing.

Blogger Nathan said ... (2:20 PM) :

I like the high waters, but especially that green coat. And the look on that guys face.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:37 PM) :

I love the man on the left's outfit, especially the greens in the coat and the fingerless gloves.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:54 PM) :

awesome and elegant! Two gentlemen. Love the high trouser leg:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:12 PM) :

looks like they like black

Blogger c said ... (3:18 PM) :

Ah, I love this. So Parisian, sophisticated, and remarkably simple.
What are the details behind the brochures?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:35 PM) :

I so wish your pictures would be bigger when clicking on them for close-ups. I would like to see the green coat (and many other details in other pictures) more closely. Would that, by any chance, be feasible? :)

Again, very sensual and mystical and dark that green color there.

Blogger mgi said ... (3:46 PM) :

the dynamic duo!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:55 PM) :

They look like a couple of russian proffesionals. Whatever the proffesion.

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:14 PM) :

daniel craig, worse for wear, and waiting for the flood? BUT, he resembles daniel craig, so for that...he gets a pass ;)

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:16 PM) :

i also love that an above commenter utilized the word "zestful"!
delicious word!

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (4:24 PM) :

Both are looking really good, but I'm not feeling the high cut trousers.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:12 PM) :

why will high-waters never make it in the US?
its like we have an allergy to altering the standard.
shame, these guys are badasses.

Blogger Miguel said ... (5:25 PM) :

It is a great duet!

Blogger Chris Johnson said ... (5:44 PM) :

Are those green fingerless gloves the FW08 Burberry Prorsum ones I was absolutely obsessed with?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:10 PM) :

i like their expressions.and the left guy mixed his clothes very well.love the different shades!

Blogger Room4777 said ... (6:49 PM) :

i like the look of intense contemplation on the guy to the left.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:22 PM) :

these men are both extraordinarily striking, each in their own particular way!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:28 PM) :

I think Garth Spencer of GQ UK style (on the left) really is the upcoming fashionisto to be noticed.

Blogger John B Pritchett said ... (8:37 PM) :

Great looks on both! I personally can't do short pants but admire them on these guys. Black shoes, socks, or boots definitely help the look.

Blogger Hello There ! said ... (9:01 PM) :

i think they both look wonderful

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:24 PM) :

An amazing amalgamation of style and manliness.

Blogger Dr. Debonaire said ... (11:02 PM) :

i love the GREEN!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:04 PM) :

i really love these guys' outfits! it's nice to see older men who are experimenting more with the proportion of their trousers.

also love the fingerless gloves and that man's impeccable peacoat!

i can't believe how critical some of the comments on here are! fashion is about self-expression and having fun.. adopting the trends of the season in a personal way that works for you. so stop being so overly critical people!! enjoy the beauty of scott's amazing photographs and his personal perspective of the fashion world.

sart when are you going to tokyo to show these people stuff that's really OUT THERE?? i'm sure the comments would be quite entertaining to say the least!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:18 AM) :

the guy on the right is david bradshaw, arena homme plus' fashion director...
i can see he's still loyal to thom browne, but luckily he doesnt have to pay 4 grand for an off the peg shrunken suit....
by the way, i don't get the thom browner look..if you hadn't guessed

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (2:32 AM) :

OK, gotta say I'm not relating too well to all the ankles showing this season. The guy on the right is pushing my envelope way too much. But maybe that's the point. He wants attention. But at such a price!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:40 AM) :

what an incredible face. he could have on anything and who would know for looking at his face. (the shorter gentleman of course)I'm certain his spouse agrees.

Blogger Joy said ... (3:36 AM) :

oh my god. the gloves.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:53 AM) :

They look smart.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:22 AM) :

Man on left is epitome of cool!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:45 AM) :

I'm sorry, but I just don't like the short pants. They look very polished and put together from mid-calf up though...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:43 AM) :

I wish I could better see the color of the man's coat on the left. I see its green but I wished they were standing in the sun. Guys in my neighborhood have been wearing their pants that way for a few years but they usually (crookedly)cut the bottoms off with scissors and leave them unfinished. They are the devoted bike riders in the Echo Park area of LA. Its cool to see this look hemmed and in nicer fabric, and also on someone who isnt a kid.

Blogger Nur said ... (11:53 AM) :

Yes those green gloves does look like those Burberry Prorsum F/W 2008 fingerless gloves :) !

Blogger Ben Braithwaite said ... (12:28 PM) :

Oh, the facial expressions! Without them, the outfits would simply be a bundle of clothes; with them... perfection.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:26 PM) :

i'm infatuated by the shade of green the left fellow has. gorgeous!

Blogger Tanya said ... (4:21 PM) :

I like the Thom Brown look. There's something really charming about it, and I think of this amusing poster at the Imperial War Museum in London. It's about buying children's clothes bigger to account for growth (c. WWII) and there's a cute drawing of a boy in too-small clothes.
The guy on the right is cheeky and irreverent, especially with that face. Personally the popped collar is the low point to me. I see it too much. The guy on the left is really damn good looking, and could probably wear anything. I do like the green. I want my boyfriend in that coat and gloves.

Blogger TheSundayBest said ... (4:59 PM) :

We definitely need more deep green in menswear.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:15 PM) :

i love short trousers!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:38 PM) :

I love the short pant. These fellows totally embody the masculine edge of left bank Paris, with cigarettes and reading materials clutched in fingerless gloves.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:38 PM) :

The guy on the right is so deceptive! Is that you, Daniel Craig?!

Blogger Shaynuh said ... (11:04 PM) :

These two men look so dapper! I love both of their coats! :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:39 PM) :

I love the play between darks and lights here. I love their hair and E.E. bone structure. The man on the left, with most of his outfit blending into dark, almost solely a silhouette, and the older man on the right with his frame more subtly getting darker toward his feet, giving him a wonderful weight and placement. I love the contrasting top heavyness of the man on the left and his posture.

Blogger DANRUN said ... (5:21 AM) :

very attractive!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:50 PM) :

The man on the left has a spectacular pose, so regal and powerful. Really good shot.

Blogger Cultivated Ah Lian said ... (5:39 PM) :

love the spiffy green jacket and how its contrasted with the not so spiffy handwarmers(is that what u call it?)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:41 PM) :

"But I swear to you Jean-Claude, the label said you could tumble-dry them."

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:26 PM) :

I'm in love with the left person..great style and I really like the green accents in his outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:39 PM) :

I love the man on the left...great style!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:19 PM) :

if it's true that men are the new women, then give me more of this kind! so gorgeous!

Blogger Karina Cifuentes said ... (5:52 PM) :

If this was shot in black & white, it could be a French movie poster from the 50s...

"Two generations lost in a world of debauchery and self realisation..." whilst looking extremely debonair

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:19 AM) :

I'm not convinced that the coat on the left is really green. I think it might just be the gloves playing tricks on my eyes. I'm more accepting of shorter pant legs than I used to be, but this may be pushing it. Everything else looks spot on. I really like fingerless gloves. P.S. My word verification was "hater".

Blogger TheMinx said ... (8:01 PM) :

the fingerless gloves are genius, and their expressions are amazing. This photo tells such a wonderful story.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:31 PM) :

i love the gloves

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:48 PM) :

best picture of the month so far

Blogger Mz. Paulzen said ... (1:48 PM) :

Two gorgeous men wearing little pants. I don't care, they look hot!

Blogger lucas said ... (4:24 PM) :

They remind me of characters from the Japanese cartoon, Lupin. They all wear characteristically high pants paired with boots. Very classy. I've been waiting for this style to become a reality for some time now.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:05 AM) :

not liking the short pants trend,
but i am loving that green coat and fingerless gloves to match!

Blogger bliss said ... (11:16 AM) :

i love the green gloves and slightly green blazer.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:17 PM) :

I'm in love...

Anonymous David said ... (11:50 AM) :
