love the colors and details. That suit fits him beautifully!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:33 AM) :

Nice suit, nice cut, nice cuff, nice blues, nice background (Ermenegildo Zegna's headoffice in Milan... is it a real coincidence?). Once again very well done, Sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:40 AM) :

great fabric! well put together. Itailans obviously know how to do it..!

Blogger Cali Momma said ... (10:40 AM) :

Ah pocket squares - clearly in Milano.

Blogger Kim said ... (10:44 AM) :

You're killin' me with the Italian guys!

Blogger stylethread said ... (10:46 AM) :

nice. looks great picking up the blue in the plaid of his suit.\

Blogger dilian said ... (10:48 AM) :

Such a unique combination. I love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:53 AM) :

So cool!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:54 AM) :

phenomenal! I can't picture this gentleman wearing anything else! It's as if he IS the entire outfit!

Blogger Pret a Porter P said ... (10:58 AM) :

This is so beautiful. I love how the scarf makes the little blue pieces in his suit stand out more.

And I love his hair color.

Very handsome man indeed.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:00 AM) :

A great looking, well-fitting suit that he can be wearing 20 years from now. John/SF

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:01 AM) :

omg...wat fantastic hair!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:05 AM) :

Foxy! His colors are great, of course, and all seemingly chosen to set off his FACE -- which really pops atop that royal blue scarf. Is it just me, or does he look like a cross between Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise? (Rainman?)

Blogger le said ... (11:09 AM) :

That suit is wonderful!!!

Blogger Filipe said ... (11:13 AM) :

I've seen him here before!
Impeccably tailored, the blue really stands out and confers him that “younger look”.
I just couldn’t resist walking out the door with that look today.
The only “but”, for me, would be the way he did that pocket handkerchief.

Blogger Irene said ... (11:14 AM) :

I can't believe you made him turn to take a shot of the back of his graying hair; and he is smiling! That's why you're the best.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:21 AM) :

Beautiful head of hair.

Blogger Fly Girl said ... (11:22 AM) :

I absoulutely relish those details! The grey of his hair and suit with the pop of peacock blue is fabulous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:29 AM) :

last week i was in milan and i saw a very well dressed japanese italian..
black chelsea boots, grey flannels, black gillet and blu jacket... grey blu and black, it works!! i just ordered my own grey blu black outfit..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:30 AM) :

He looks like a young Dustin Hoffman. Love the hair!

Blogger Montreal Fashion Minds said ... (11:36 AM) :

Love the pop of blue against like grey suit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:39 AM) :

Please don't tell me you're not in NY for NYFW!

Blogger Ain Parfait said ... (11:42 AM) :

oh my not only is that outfit amazing, but he's quite handsome :)

Blogger Lee S. said ... (11:45 AM) :

who is this handsome, dapper devil?!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:55 AM) :

Sharp! One of your best finds yet, Sart!

Blogger Kay said ... (11:58 AM) :

I really like this, it's so classic but he's stopped it from looking too conventional with the bright scarf. It's not too radical a mismatch to the overall tone of his outfit though given that it picks up the colour in the jacket.
Really suits him

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:58 AM) :

The gray in his hair coordinates with the gray in his suit. The blue in his scarf coordinates with the blue in the plaid. All that's left is for he and I to coordiante our hearts as one and forever live a stylish life together. What more could a woman ask for?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:03 PM) :

yowza! sure, he's impeccably dressed, but he's also beyond hot! love a man with prematurely grey hair. oooohhhh and long too. thanks for sharing Sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:04 PM) :

That's a man. Dressed sooo good.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:19 PM) :

Nice hair, but that middle part is just...wrong.

Blogger YHBHS said ... (12:19 PM) :

love the way the blue references the suit.

great shade of blue to wear in the midst of winter.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:21 PM) :

Great Suit! I'm on my way to buy one like it now!

Wait what's that? The economy is tanked? No one has money for sartoria? Say it ain't so, sart! Say it ain't so!!!

Blogger green lantern said ... (12:23 PM) :

This is the kinda stuff that makes me your biggest fan. Your pic focuses on and acentuates the best of what is the best of the subject. And your subject is on point for what he is expressing. Cut, color, character...booyah!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:24 PM) :

the blue is amazing...great photo. great look

Blogger American Otaku (E is my SL) said ... (12:38 PM) :

to me this is one of those "perfect" shots!!!
the blue pattern in the suit is amazing, the pocket square looks really fun to wear how he is, and my favorite part.... is how his hair creeps over the scarf! mine is exactly the same right now!!!

Blogger NVA said ... (12:44 PM) :

nice details...
the color of the scarf fits with the suit

Blogger Olviya said ... (12:51 PM) :

adorable outfit!
bright blue is making him not so formal)

Blogger gnjido said ... (1:01 PM) :

When I checked your site this morning, I almost choked on my breakfast!
What an excellent color! Oh, and the tiny blue pin-stripe accents on the suit - superb!

Blogger parisgirl said ... (1:03 PM) :

what a fantastic pop of colour. leads us right to that handsome face...clever! and the suit's rather splendid, too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:05 PM) :

Great hair and fantastic blue. Well fitting suit. Confidence.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:07 PM) :

It might be very helpful for
all of us if you can ask
these fabulous people brands of
their clothings

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:14 PM) :

The scarf catches the eye first, but then I noticed the cut of the suit - fantastic!

Blogger barcelona said ... (1:23 PM) :

He's beautiful. I love his hair.

Blogger barcelona said ... (1:24 PM) :

I love his hair. He's beautiful.

Blogger L'eremita said ... (1:26 PM) :

Gorgeous! That vivid blue really works well with his skin tone.

Blogger barcelona said ... (1:27 PM) :

I love his style. His hair.

Blogger hc said ... (1:35 PM) :

the over-perfectly cut pant and jacket, in addition with the uncouth arrangement of the hankie makes the entire look too manufactured..

a little imperfection, even if secretly fixed, would be appreciated.

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:38 PM) :

Flawless. Just flawless.

Blogger Sarah said ... (1:39 PM) :

double-breasted suit, handkerchief, and a big dramatic scarf.

With the blue, it makes the outfit stylish, sleek and classy with a modern twist.

Blogger Tamsen said ... (1:39 PM) :

He looks great! More please.

Blogger Mo said ... (1:40 PM) :

Nice try. I am all about using scarf as an accent piece, but I hope he had chosen a different shade of blue. Yeah, it's not that I haven't noticed the electric blue echoes the color of the grids in his suit, it's just that I have never been a big fan of this particular color. Plus, I am curious to see how he'd look without the scarf, since the pink pocket square really stands out, and has worked in his favor.

Blogger Michael Joseph Owens said ... (1:46 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:52 PM) :

Totally sexy. Assertive, svelte and just the right touch of frivolous (the pink pochet). Even if this is a worked look (including the tan) he carries it off with convincing sprezzatura. Love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:07 PM) :

this is so fabulous

Blogger saintvenus said ... (2:13 PM) :

I didn't notice the blue lines on the jacket on picture 1. But when I scrolled down to picture 2, the perfect match of the blue lines and scarf stunned me. This gentleman had genius inspiration.

Blogger No said ... (2:16 PM) :

What a lovely man. The electric blue and gray, that smile and the gorgeous hair. What an excellent choice.

Blogger JP said ... (2:33 PM) :

Perfect- great shade of Blue-

Nice to see Blue and Grey

Blogger Sara said ... (2:41 PM) :

very stilish and classy. He seems to be well preverded.

Blogger Johanne said ... (2:45 PM) :

The blue scarf gives a perfect contrast to the grey suit! Me like.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:08 PM) :

This looks like something Bertie Wooster might have worn.

I love how this blog not only gives me fashion ideas, it also gives me my fix of sexy older men. Rowr :D

Blogger Sarah said ... (3:44 PM) :

the suit! the scarf! the hair! the pocket square! the square jaw!

what a stylish man

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:08 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:32 PM) :

does it get any better!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:02 PM) :

That blue scarf is too vibrant and there's too much of it.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (5:04 PM) :

what an excellent choice to pick this color for the scarf because of the color of the grid of his suit.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:08 PM) :

Love the blue and grey...the suit is just gorgeous and it fits him perfectly!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:13 PM) :

He is so perfect, and I am in love.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:23 PM) :

I have issues with the hanky. Though it does need something there, I'm just not sure what.

Perhaps a different colour?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:28 PM) :

The fleecy scarf is almost too casual for the suit. But he pulls it off.

What color is his shirt?

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:56 PM) :

the color combination is so amazing. I must go buy that shade of blue to match with my grey clothes.

Blogger Julicious Fashionicious said ... (5:59 PM) :

Italian gentleman ))) His scarf is amazing, such a great blue color.

Blogger Move said ... (6:44 PM) :

i heart it

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:47 PM) :

Grey and Blue are my favourite colours at the moment. Interest combinantion, and this Italian guy looks great !

Blogger SarahwithanH said ... (7:05 PM) :

Very handsome :) Love that he's rockin' the grey hair. That scarf is phenomenal!

Blogger Bedlam said ... (7:14 PM) :

this looks great, I love that blue

Blogger The Khaki Crusader said ... (7:19 PM) :

talk about total f***in sartorial domination

Blogger Kiddy Two Shoes said ... (7:23 PM) :

Electric blue with grey is a great combination. Get rid of the hanky in the top pocket though!

Blogger Brigadeiro said ... (7:40 PM) :

That pop of electric blue against the grey (and matching the fine stripes) is just brilliant, I agree with CasualEncountersBlog, don't quite agree with the hankerchief...

Blogger AG said ... (7:46 PM) :

The cut is amazing,

rarely in the states have i seen a double breast fit so slim. The buttons actually help show off the proportions of his build instead of being boxy like cuts I see in the US.

If all your suits are cut so well its quite the incentive to stay in shape.

Blogger secondvurss said ... (8:04 PM) :

fantastic-the scarf brings out the blue in the suit.

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (8:41 PM) :

An 'electric blue' scarf, right?... What is that song 'electric blue baby I looove youuu?' oh gosh 80's flashback :( shoot me now!

Love everything about him, except the colors, they take me back to the 80's... or is it the combination?... maybe the hair, Miami Vice comes to mind. Oh! I'll stop now.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:30 PM) :

Ah, this guy looks classy. Love that pink handkerchief.

Blogger thestyleadvisor said ... (9:40 PM) :

Love the look overall, however the scarf seems a bit overwhelming. A shorter one may have worked better. Great use of color, and the pocket square is absolutely perfection.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:15 PM) :

what a beautiful man. the scarf is a bit loud though

Blogger missyoo said ... (10:40 PM) :

beauty of middle age~!! Coooool~~

Blogger Deka said ... (11:08 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:35 PM) :

very roman polanski...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:45 PM) :

I usually scoff at tight waisted jackets, since most of them look to me like bad sausage casing, but in this case, bravo. And bravo for the scarf (ah, that's not royal blue). I love the whole drape aspect of the photo, including the drape of the fellow's hair.

The pocket kerchief annoys me, but most of them do.

Blogger diane said ... (12:33 AM) :

You have to have a lot of confidence to wear this. I think he looks great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:35 AM) :

I love the colours.

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:13 AM) :

it's really incredible how the bright blue scarf really emphasizes the stripes of the suit. these are the kind of subtleties that i really appreciate of italian style. while i think italian aesthetics are generally written off amongst popular culture as sort of gaudy and over the top, this is really a quiet elegance.

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (3:17 AM) :

Uh, O.K. Looks like he's living it up.

The cut IS amazing. Every guy should go for it while they can!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:33 AM) :

He simply looks great.

Blogger Bea said ... (5:22 AM) :

Ah!!! Milano....Italians have the key. He looks really great!!

Blogger saray said ... (6:59 AM) :

happy valentine's day!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:14 AM) :

I know him!

Blogger Emy JC said ... (7:45 AM) :

Gosh I love this blog, truly my biggest inspiration when it comes to streetphotography! One day I hope to be able taking pics as great as those:D! Well well, I suck at taking pics and I have an ordinary camera but whatever? as long as you love doing what you do thats all that matters, huh? Happy valentines. Ciao Emy

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:44 AM) :

The blue scarf makes everything =)

Blogger John B Pritchett said ... (11:00 AM) :

Great suit! Love the color of the scarf. It's nice to see someone wearing such a well fitted suit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:55 PM) :

I find the unflapped patch pockets to be very unusual, on a bouble-breasted suit nonetheless. They are normally reserved for very casual sport coats.

Blogger Mz. Paulzen said ... (1:11 PM) :

The hair style screams "confidance." The ensemble is not overly imaginative, but the fit is fantastic and the overall look is stunning.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:23 PM) :

The pocket kerchief should have been paisley or foulard, otherwise perection.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:11 AM) :

just for a try

Blogger Paul Pincus said ... (11:57 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:57 PM) :

Is he too perfect?

Blogger mani said ... (11:44 PM) :

ooohh theres nothing like a great sartorial image to make me feel warm and fuzzy the day after valentines day.
first off, i love the scarf and how it adds a playful vibe to an otherwise structured look
i also love love LOVE how it matches the blue threads in the suit, highlighting a detail i would have never noticed otherwise
the fit of the suit itself is also impeccable
and finally, as the cherry on top of a damn good ice cream sundae, the pink pocket scarf transitions this look from winter to spring
fantastic find, sartorialist!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:36 AM) :

I have to comment because although I would never wear that scarf with the suit he is wearing--he makes it work incredibly well. I love the look.

Blogger About Me said ... (3:42 AM) :

i like the sublte matching details.

Blogger Wet Bream Productions said ... (6:51 AM) :

I adore the cobalt blue. Very cool. Very Huxley-esque. Nice to see a well fitted double breasted suit as well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:07 PM) :

His scarf lends a relaxed look to a very structured suit. I think the bright blue looks great against the gray Prince of Wales and makes the blue stripe pop in the have to have one thing on your outfit that POPS! and a smile to exude confidence. Sure winner. Great fit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:10 PM) :

Great fitting suit, scarf is a great color on him. His hair is perfect. Well done look. He looks smart and successful.

Blogger Tramdog said ... (1:47 PM) :

I absolutely love this wardrobe. What a brilliant saturated blue which compliments and strongly brings out the subtle blue lines of the suit. Love the light pink pocket square that seems to match the light tones of the suit. It's nice to see him use that color instead of one of blue.

Blogger MonsieurMonsieur said ... (6:41 AM) :

I think I'm in love....

Blogger PrincessSteph said ... (1:53 PM) :

gorgeous. simply gorgeous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:25 PM) :

Interestingly, from far the blue check in the suit is very subtle. When taken closer the blue really makes an impact, but yet is never busy. Your eye goes directly to the face on the italian man, it is never attracted to the suit unless you think about it... this is how true gentlement put it together.

Blogger The Clever Pup said ... (11:10 AM) :

Be still my beating heart

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:31 PM) :

I like the combination of the blue scarf and the grey suite with the small stripes of blue in it:) and a very handsome man!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:30 PM) :

is his name matthew by any chance?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:46 AM) :

This is not the way for a man to wear a scarf. Still less one so out of scale.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:36 PM) :

Il vestito è molto personaggio è sciarpa doveva essere di un altro colore...

Anonymous deepsouthchickha said ... (10:22 AM) :

it's so very very perfect
i'm just in awe.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:47 AM) :

i love the way the scarf is such a subtle match to the suit
