You should try to visit new towns, Paris isn't the only fashion place in France. The Med School of Marseille is rather nice too...
she is beautiful. i love the textures of the shirt and skirt. the skirt -especially- seems fun with the beading and the one loose thread hanging. i know most people won't like the combat boots but they so nicely balance the very feminine top half. thank you sart.

You're right, the photos from Hyeres were absolutely fantastic...alas, Felix is spot-on: Sart should explore new places more often...Hyeres is only one example in a sea of Paris, Paris, Paris.
Not crazy about it. It's as though the boots are too heavy for the delicate top. They weigh her down in a way that does not balance.
I guess I don't see what's so fashion-forward about this look. It looks pretty basic to me--what thousands of girls have worn before, a skirt and combat boots. Although it does make me think that my own closet might be slightly more interesting than I thought, if outfits like this can make it on here.

I like the combo of punk + girly, but otherwise, I'm not sure what exactly the allure is of this ensemble... it's a little bit boring, at least for the sartorialist. Her attitude rocks but the style in this photo is a little predictable.

It's been so hot lately, that this girl looks exactly like I feel.
This is definitely a look for the very young, those still in school. An interesting mix of textures, and the pink with black that was so popular in the 50's works here, too. Heavy boots with the girly skirt are too much of a cliche, though. Imagine this with strappy sandals and without the cigarette.

I love the skirt/boot combination. It takes a special girl to wear boyish combat boots and still look femenine and sweet. The pink skirt helps, though, I believe.

however, my A-type personality is dying for a pair of scissors to cut that damn string. i can't help it. i don't mind unfinished edges, but i hate long, hanging strings. especially, one. super. long. string. argh!

I think the outfit is very interesting here, but I don't like the pose, the cigarette, the drink, the background, those boots... Too messy, grungy... Not a fan...

This does absolutely nothing for me. She looks disheveled and seriously sloppy. Perhaps I just don't get it. Perhaps the beauty and ingeniousness of her look is best perceived in person. I suppose there is meant to be a juxtaposition of tender and tough, glam and grunge. Then again if the observer must expend such energy to "interpret" the message, perhaps the message isn't being executed as well as it could.
I wasn't impressed with this combo at first glance. But then I looked closer and noticed her beaded bracelets and fuchsia nails. Ah ha! She's a split personality - ballerina/punk princess.
I dunno. Comments here are saying that this is old news, but maybe, by now, this grunge look can be said to be classic.
I love black t-shirts that have something different and interesting happening about them. I wish I could make out exactly what this one's made of and what's happening at the neckline.
People object to the "cliche"-ness of her sweet skirt and combat boots, saying that it's unoriginal and overdone. On the other hand, a skirt and sandals could be seen as just as overdone. I say at least she rocks it!
If I may add something to the "explore new places" thing, people shot in Hyeres were Parisian people just gone south, not people actually from Hyeres... That changes a lot!

I think any photograph you take will come out brilliantly, however, this outfit just does not do it! Average Jane with hot feet.
This shot is a great example of what I try to tell all my friends: beware of black shoes (regardless whether it's a pair of boots like these Doc Martens or any other sort of footwear) on naked skin unless you are really tanned. Otherwise the contrast of colour is too hard, at least in my humble opinion.
i love your taste in style because you don't decide if an outfit is considered "fashionable" based on strict criteria. fashion is supposed to be imaginative and free.

We have sweet utility here. Glad to see that comfortable shoes are being worn and that they contrast nicely with the femininity of the details on the skirt and shirt. The accessories are tres chic, as well.
Oh, those naughty French, smoking at medical school! I imagine her saying, "I choose a shorter life that is filled with pleasure," [said with careless one-shouldered shrug]. I am way, way, way anti-smoking (heart disease also destroys the lives of everyone who loved the smoker) but the insouciant coolness of that photo almost makes me forgive the media for making smoking cool. It is amusing that so many are quick to judge a non-fashionista on smoking, yet when there are images of the tall, skinny and well-heeled/labeled, smoking is acceptable.
I think it is a great image of a normal human, looking comfortable.
it's interesting to see all the reactions for this photo, guess that's what makes this shot so interesting... really stands out from all the photos with nice postures, fashionable dressing...

I love this picture for many reasons: the careless attitude that is not normally characteristic of a med school student, the aviator sunglasses which I never leave my house without, the orangina... the list goes on. Get over the cigarette people!!! take the log out of your eye before you search for the needle in others..... plus its France!!!!!!!

I think what Sart captured in the photo is the lovely air about her. The stare, the cigarette at med school, the orangina and the boots are lovely accompaniments also.
