One Year Ago

I took this photo a year ago (the weekend before Thanksgiving) and it is one of my all time favorites.

This is my favorite of all your photographs. He's so handsome, and just has a peaceful demeanor. He reminds me of my uncles.

Ahh, this may be one of, if not the greatest pictures that you've ever taken. Where does this youngster reside? Kingston, the DR? I love the way the dark, worn look of this suit plays against the tropical background. The confidence. The no-nonsense look in his eyes. Excuse me, I've got to run to the store for more Red Stripe and Tops papers.

Love it...

Sartorial RAAAASTA- MAN!!!
Clearly a very confident man who is very comfortable in his own skin therefore the unusual and interesting combination of style here.

wow - where is it from?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:37 AM) :

this is unbelievable, superb, outstanding.
what a DUDE!
you should make this guy a regular in your blog, i would love to see what he comes up with on a regular basis.

excellent fit and very classy...
the hat and dreads give him flair...

Amazing hair, and most of all I admire the flair wit which he carries the combination off. For some reason, he looks to me like he was going to Sunday church.

nice postcolonial edge too. one one hand, the oppressor-man ticket pocket and suit vest look. on the other, the hair and skin tone. all put together with the hat, the locale, the calm peaceful expression.

love it, too ... great.

Life is short but fashion the air itself. Or do I mean style?

I COULD say that here we have a mind-bending genre-mix (or have I just?), but instead I'll just sit back and...enjoy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:10 PM) :

sartorial shaman!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:46 PM) :

How "intense" look

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:29 PM) :

Love it, but I'm not so sure it's a tropical location. He's holding gloves and it looks like a conifer growing behind him.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:30 PM) :

Come on people, it's a suit with a dread-locked man inside. Please.

To Anon 5:30
Dad is that you?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:47 AM) :

I love you're blog and I read it as often that it is possible. This picture is my absolut favourite too. It's just marvellous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:16 AM) :

I'm in love with this picture - you'd never expect consistency with such a mix of styles and here - voila - is a mature man with dreadlocks and in a 3-piece suit. This is Style.

Blogger Lit said ... (10:05 AM) :

Never mind the dreadlocks and tropics, this suite is sublime. Put that in any one else and the effect would be similar, except that person would not have this gentleman's personality, which undoubtedly helps. The jaket is thee perfect fit, the colour of the suite, the shirt and tie and the extra-pocket on that jacket! I love it. Mesmerisingly brilliant Sart, love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:22 PM) :

I'm partial to dreadlocks so OF COURSE I think he looks like a "stunna"!

BTW, just an observation @ 11:05, who says he's a Rasta? The two don't go hand in hand.

(Dismounts soapbox to gaze at the distinguished dreadlock dandy...)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:33 PM) :

looks like a dermatologist that i know

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:07 AM) :

Blogger Solomon Animashaun said ... (6:40 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:21 PM) :

'nuff respect to the dread! he looks hot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:47 PM) :

Great picture. Dude is p-i-m-p

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:12 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:03 PM) :
