On The Street....That Hair, That Smile, New York

Is it the hair that is giving them such a joyful smile?
Here is a hint to the gentleman - try giving your wife/girlfriend a gift certificate to a top notch hair salon for her next birthday/anniversary/getting-out-of-the-doghouse gift and see if you don't end up with the biggest smile by the next day.

Indeed, a good haircut and pampering goes much further with me than flowers -- more lasting power.
She is indeed lovely! What a great smile...like 'here comes the sun'!!
How could one not smile with hair like this.
Agree as to the gifting though I wonder if some women would take it as "please improve your look."
her hair is fabulous! mine is similar in texture. i think i'll take this photo to my stylist next time i have it trimmed. thanks for posting this!
beautiful day, and a beautiful smile. Isnt that what spring/summer is all about?
Fantastic style. She looks great.
And what a smile!

The jeans, the tube top, the jacket, even the contrasting bag....and then....that hair on top of a cute-as-a-button face. Impeccable. Wouldn't change a thing.
oh wow. ny women are beautiful.
I always feel wonderful after a great haircut and style, but no cut and style in the world can give me natural corkscrew curls. :) I think she's just lucky.
does the lowerbody part belong to the same person? is it one leg split in two? a hip seen from the side? the hair rocks, but she does seem a bit top-heavy.
a good haircut totally does wonders to one's mood and disposition!!!
She has Miranda July hair. I wonder if that means she's talented, too.
you are very smart - women love trips to the salon! great hint! guys...pay attention ;-)
I think the style, the hair, and the smile all come from within. When a person feels really good about themself, it shows. Sending someone to a top hairdresser doesn't do it because the hairstyle is applied just like when someone is told to smile for a photographer. This lady radiates joy and that's why she looks so great.
Always glad to see a curly girl wear her curls with pride! :)
If I'm not mistaken this girl was in Lucky magazine (that section that shows how different people would wear the same item of clothing). She looked amazing then as well.
She looks amazing...She's got great energy, a nice smile, and cool hair! She looks effortlessly well put together.
I am in love.
i her at a screening at the tribeca film fest - she's incredibly skinny and little in person. i couldn't stop staring.
i love how she rocks the curls though!
Go the curly hair!! she looks great although I must admit having curly hair myself, a proffesional blowout keeps me smiling for a couple of days.
I like the total look of this girl - her jacket looks amazing!
Wow! Such a great look. I've never seen a tube top look so chic.
that does it i am cutting my hair!
She is rather thin! She doesn't really look like a Noo Yawker at all, more cute, compact and British.
she looks really cute
Great face, great hair, but she's scarily thin!
ugh! she's insanely adorable! I want to look just like her in my next life...
Those jeans! For once, Lucky got something right.
Ack! She's so cute I want to pinch her chubby little cheeks!
I also love that you titled the photo "fro.jpg."
I have hair like this - my boyfriend refers to it as my "hapa halfro"
ahh, LOVE her hair! yay for curly-haired girls! i for one never have and never will get a blow-out. i have no desire to look like all the stick-straight-shiny-hair-celebri-clones.
ps. TS, is something going on with your image links? some of them, if i click them, download the image to my computer instead of opening them up in a new window as per usual...
Cupid's arrow- a pick in the fro.
Wow, what a pretty girl!
Wow, what a pretty girl!
She's fantastic - so many women I know with curly hair hate it, they straighten and cut and alter it, but she wears it with pride, and that reflects in her smile and style - which is also stunning - love the entire look. She looks like a lot of fun.
It's amazing what loving your curls will do...it does indeed bring forth a smile!
She needs a t-shirt from

She's well cute and I wish my hair was still like her's. What a lovely photo:)
ha! she's rocking the 'annie' style fro, i love it!
I think that having a rich mane of hair can only put a big smile on one's face. It is about the possibility of feeling more attuned to the natural luxuriance of nature.
wooow! sweet!
So many women (and men) go to such great lengths to conform to what they think (or are told) is the fashion of the minute(whether it be in clothing or makeup or in this case - Hair) it takes so much away from our natural human beauty. It makes me so hapy to see someone who has just taken what they have and "gone" with it like this person with this beautiful hair.
I love this look! So adorable and pulled together!!
Could she be any cuter? This photo makes me want to kiss her. Well put together outfit but she still looks really natural.
What a beautiful hair and face. The top is nice.
She's beautiful!
