Oh wow; beautiful photo and beautiful suit ensemble. I'm adding this to my "ideas for how to make suits less boring to me." I'm a woman who has to wear them yet doesn't like them very much, so I will try this contrasting button down shirt layered under tonal yet still substantially different color sweater vest/cardigan on myself and see how it goes.
gorgeous photo, great light, i love his expression! He has beautiful hair too. Janne is right, it has a Rembrandt quality. Are brown suits coming back ? If they are lovely shades of nut brown and as sharply cut as this one i welcome that. The burgundy jersey and the scarf add individuality and character.

Uh, that jacket is way too tight (pinching of fabric at the buttoning point). And too short (both in length and in the sleeve, but I guess that's what the people love nowadays). Nice colors though (and great light).
Love the tailoring on this suit jacket as well as the peak lapels. The pink and cranberry are such a nice combo under the brown. One wonders why there is the absence of le pocket square. Unless he's holding an extra large one in his left hand. ;)
The colours are of course very beautiful. All the more shame about the fit of the suit. It is clearly too narrow in the waist and too short in the sleeve. That x-shaped pull of the fabric is an eyesore.

The fit of this olive suit is the problem. It is too tight. The sleeves may be proportioned for French cuffs. However, many men do have one arm longer than the other. Any decent tailor can make the changes on the sleeves. As far as the jacket goes, the side seams as well as the back vent seam can be let out. I think this guy needs 2-2.5 inches let out for proper fit.

this is so beautiful. really inspiring on so many levels: layering, tone, texture. even though i wouldn't wear this out fit per se, it is a wonderful example of how to think about tailored dressing in general. chic, concise, charming. thank you.
I like the fit of this mans suit. Too many men wear suits that are slightly too large and they end up looking like the manilla folders they're invariably carrying.

This man is not wearing his suit too small. It's a deliberate style choice and it doesn't work for everyone. It does work admirably for him, and the fact that it's fashionable at the moment shouldn't be held against him.
I dress myself by preference in suits with a roomier fit than this, but this man is evidence that the skinny suit can and does look good. It's really the masses of salarymen wearing suits with sleeves going down to their thumbs that are the problem.

This shot is crossing time barriers. Rembrandt, the tight fit of jacket of Chaplin´s little tramp, the renessaince coloring, the scarf of the 19th century peasant woman. Congratulations.

Different suits for different body types - i like tight, narrow cut suits on young, skinny adolescent types. British actor Bill Nighy also wears his custom made suits on the narrow side and looks great; but you need a different cut if you're broad and muscular. The same for women, not every girl looks good in body-con styles and I would love to wear Stella McCartney's slouchy boyfriend jackets or any of Yohji Yamamoto's deconstructed sculptural garments but they drown me. All clothes aren't for every body (sorry-terrible grammar!). sometimes we have to be content to look and admire them on other people.

I disagree with some of the previous comments: one thing is to go for a narrower, structured look (Huntsman, of Savile Row, for example, are famous for it),another thing is to be wearing something that evidently does not fit.
This is obviously judging by very classic criteria, but if the jacket is well-cut or adjusted to the body of the wearer, nothing should be puling as excessively as it does in this otherwise very beautiful photo.

cheap suit (as mentioned above) or not, he's working it. I'm tall and thin myself and most thriftstore clothing is still cut for the shorter and wider so sleeves are often shy of my wrist. so,perhaps his jacket is a bit small but I don't think that's an accident.

Wow... great style... Colours rock. that scarf is to die for. hand crafted textured and subtly coloured for maximum luxury appeal, then he added the merlot cardigan and soft pink shirt. who cares that the jackets a little to short in the sleeve? it allows so much more colour to show through, Instantly you have a look that says 'I wear my moods!'

The outfit is also very sophisticated in construction. The Mediterranean tones are beautiful -- really, olive and wine are natural partners. The textures look equally scrumptious.
As for the fit, I suspect the fabric of the jacket and the stance of the subject may account for some of the perceived tightness. In any case, for me, it doesn't detract for what is an altogether very handsome fellow.

The two color stories here. It occurred to me today that one was for Spring and the other for Fall -- showing that this "green" color works for both seasons.
Great look, but too tight that Coat...
His jacket is straining to meet the added requirements of the sweater and his slim physique. The sweater would have been better if it was a thin pullover (very thin). One must make an occasional sacrifice to pull off a stunning color combination (we have all done it, and learned with our mistakes). As always, the subject is the main focus, but the lighting and background are employed in concert to make the perfect look. Great, Sart.

Great colors and an ok fit. The jacket is not a disaster as some have stated. The sleeves are a tad short, but it's consistent with the jacket length. You can also see he's intentionally pulled the shirt and cardigan sleeves lower on his wrist then they would normally fall, overemphasizing the sleeve shortness. The jacket is slim and maybe a tad too tight but with the thick cardigan under, it looks way too tight. It's an acceptable sacrifice in the name of color experimentation. If the jacket always fit with a cardigan, then it would look loose without one. The jacket might be a bit too short, but again, it's more in fashion currently, makes him look taller, and opens an option of wearing it as a separate....

By itself, I can't stand burgandy. It reminds me of a bad hotel lobby in the early 80's. But this guy really pulls it off with the other colors, especially the brown. Good show!! I won't be wearing it though.....
The combination of colors is brilliant. His suit however is not. The jacket is way too tight, look at the fabric next to the button! Furthermore the shoulders are substancially padded. For what reason?
