Blogger maggieescargot said ... (8:35 AM) :

the hat looks so good on her.
wish i could pull it off.

moreover, i love her oversized scarf!(L)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:43 AM) :

FIRST!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:44 AM) :

They look awesome.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:49 AM) :

beautiful shot! simple, natural and fresh! Love that kind of Panama hats!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:07 AM) :

Can anyone become a model these days?

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (9:07 AM) :

Pretty pic Sart! That dress is so beautifiul I love the movement it has when the girl walks.

Blogger WigWagBam! said ... (9:20 AM) :

I just love the hat with the long flowy gown. so contradictory yet compliments each other so well!

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:21 AM) :

oh what a pretty dress. i can imagine how delicately it must move when she walks. makes me wish we weren't heading into winter where i live.

Blogger António Erre said ... (9:29 AM) :

Big caption!
The "joie de vivre" is in the air!
The dress is very YSL vintage and the other girl reminds the famous YSL tuxedo. The hats another YSL icon.
Great fashion photo make great fashionable girls and "mutatis mutandis".
17 in 20.

Blogger Leila+Is+Surrounded said ... (9:30 AM) :

ooh i have to buy some hats toooooo

!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:48 AM) :

Indeed, they are shiny, happy models that wear hats.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:54 AM) :

Yep, free you mind, and free you body! Embrace these floating dresses and forget skinny clothing, at least until October. This comment also applies to today's second post... If anything he wears would be just half a size larger, the whole look would recieve an enormous amount of sophistication that is unfortunately missing here. The proportions don't work too well, I think. Yellow and grey rules, though, alright.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:55 AM) :

absolutely delightful

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:56 AM) :

my hat's off to them! i think every guy and girl should wear a hat. besides the fact it looks old school stylish, it also helps u out when ure having a bad hair day...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:01 AM) :

love the hat + maxi combination !
i like how the hat band has a certain
blue tint, picking up on small
accents on irina's dress.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:08 AM) :

They both have such astonishing faces. I wouldn't call either one traditionally beautiful, and yet one wants to keep looking at them. The clothes are really secondary to the women in this shot, and that's fine by me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:08 AM) :

LOVE LOVE LOVE the dress on the right! She looks so stunning, great smile, easy, breezy and the hat makes th outfit.
Who makes the dress???

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (10:19 AM) :

They look great!
I love the outfit of the blond model, so casual and so chic at the same time! The kind of look that I love!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:34 AM) :

i'm not sure how i feel about those dresses. i see a lot of celebrities wearing them now: Angelina Jolie, Gwen Stefani, Paris Hilton, etc.
I think only pregnant woman show wear them haha.

Blogger MI said ... (10:40 AM) :

the woman on the right is Irina???

the combination of the hat and the dress is awesome. It amazes us!

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:44 AM) :

Cute short-brimmed hats. How smart to pair the light hat with the dark jacket and the dark hat with the pastel maxi.

This looks very British, to me!

Blogger starbahks said ... (10:46 AM) :

first time I've seen Irina smiling.
lovely!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:48 AM) :

Amazing photography!
Beautiful outfits/girls as well! If not a bit skinny?

Blogger Kyle said ... (10:53 AM) :

gorgeous irina.

Good to see you back in NYC, Sart. Hopefully you can stay for a while.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:55 AM) :

oh, the dress on the right is so lovely. they both look beautiful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:05 AM) :

Oh the dress, I think I've been dreaming of it for years - without really knowing...

Blogger DATALOG said ... (11:06 AM) :

irina is so lovely. i love the contrast of the masculine hat with the uber-femme maxi dress. great shot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:19 AM) :

Goodness I adore Irina and her dress even more so!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:19 AM) :

Thank you, Pete Doherty, for singlehandedly re-popularizing these hats! One could say many negative things about him, but the guy has some punch to his style.

Nice contrast with the hippie dress and the sleek black/grey. They are both adorable.

Blogger Kanani said ... (11:40 AM) :

What a great shot. I sense that you approached them and made them feel good, thus the laugh from the one in blue.

Blogger Seanrwatson2 said ... (11:45 AM) :

I love that dress. The hat doesn't do anything for it. The dress works well for her skin tone and hair color.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:46 AM) :

Oh, that's cute. Is she still wearing her blanket from the airplane? Only a model could pull that off!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:50 AM) :

my daughter used to wear her blanket around her neck too, she was three years old, she called it her binky. When I see this photo I think binky.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:58 AM) :

Irina, beautiful as always! She's perfection from top to toe! love it!

Blogger I ♥ You said ... (12:14 PM) :

effortless and cool.

Blogger Anne Corrons said ... (12:42 PM) :

I do love the long dress!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:50 PM) :

who's the blonde girl?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:51 PM) :

I like how the hats make ordinary outfits look unique.

Blogger Baking With Plath said ... (12:56 PM) :

Wow, I love both of their outfits!

Blogger The Spicers said ... (1:03 PM) :

Irina looks divine in the floaty dress with masculine hat, and Milagros is beautiful too!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:04 PM) :

That maxi dress is beautiful, it’s from Mango!

Blogger Sandy said ... (1:13 PM) :

Isn't the blonde Blake Lively from Gossip Girl?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:22 PM) :

That's the face of summer

Blogger Cassaundra said ... (1:28 PM) :

loving the maxi dress .. and it's not so feminine because of the hat. perfection!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:37 PM) :

The blond is argentinian Milagros Schmoll
xxx

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:59 PM) :

Boy Georgette. Aren't models great. There so pretty. Imagine that. Hats are a lot of fun. Kind of like a toy. What ever brings a smile works for me. Now a laugh, thats another story.
Thank You.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:09 PM) :

I absolutely love Milagros' scarf- it looks so cozy! Irina's dress is really lovely as well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:16 PM) :

I know those maxi dresses are popular, but somehow they only look good on Angelina who is pregnant with twins.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:39 PM) :

The dress is breathtaking.

I love the style of both women. The hats make the whole look effortless.

Blogger Ashi said ... (3:37 PM) :

I'm so happy about this post title. It is like a great album name. I'm going to save it forever.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:47 PM) :

Irina looks amazing in the floral dress... Milagros is stunning in those skiny jeans... mirror mirror on the wall...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:18 PM) :

I love hats! I'm so glad more women are wearing them now, they look cute and are very good to have against the sun. not a big fan of maxi dresses, but her's is very nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:38 PM) :

from the south of France,I'd say comfy, and comical elegance from head to toe! could wear to Cannes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:39 PM) :

Can someone tell me what the temperature was when this shot was taken? Both looks are great, but they make no sense together. Either the one in the dress is very cold or the one in the scarf is smoldering. Love the hats, though.

Blogger Miss Cavendish said ... (4:59 PM) :

I love hats, but I do not like these. The white hat is too small and the blue hat too large, proportionally. These pretty young women look like they're trying too hard--or not trying at all. Alas.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:14 PM) :

i love this picture! they both have such great individual style.

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:02 PM) :

very DVF, with the long, summer dress and the panama hat

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:26 PM) :

the girls are georgous!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:22 PM) :

Blogger stacy said ... (10:32 PM) :

right place.

right time.

nicely done.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:49 PM) :

models...always on a blackberry
[:

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:04 PM) :

Whoo!

After the whole "Ali-Micheal-withdrew-from-modeling-because-it-was-hazardous-to-her-health" problem, it's more than refreshing to see two beautiful, smiling, LOVELY models individuated by their clothing choices!

THIS is why I love you and this website.

Mina

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:27 AM) :

The dress is beautiful and the hat is cool but I think each would look better without the other.

Models are always gorgeous. More real people please!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:42 AM) :

the dress comes from Mango

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:38 AM) :

Such a sweet photo, Sart.

Such a cute reaction to NYC Springtime... The girl from Argentina is chilly and bundled up while the Rumanian girl feels as if it's mid-summer.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:38 AM) :

Love, love, love the dress!

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:46 AM) :

For everyone's information, the model on the left is Milagros Schmoll. Check her out, I think she's a great model...and the two girls look good here.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:27 PM) :

You know I love you, Sart. But it seems like there have been an awful lot of model photos lately. I have to admit I like the pictures of regular people the best. There's more variety in the clothing.

Blogger LittleMexicanGirl said ... (12:36 PM) :

They both look...well...perfect. But I'm left wondering: is it warm or cool????

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:47 PM) :

The blonde girl is the argentinian Milagros Schmoll.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:03 PM) :

i own that same dress!!

milagros and irina.. both beautiful!!

great picture sart!!

Such beautiful ladies.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:39 PM) :

obsessed with that dress, the white hat, and the gold fingernails.

Blogger Naomi said ... (7:52 AM) :

Milagros Schmoll is one of my favorite model.
The picture is great, the girls are so lovely and I love their hats.
I want moooore :)

Blogger Newland Archer! said ... (8:42 AM) :

I`m pretty sure the blonde one is the lovely Argentinian model Milagros Schmoll. She looks amazing, as usual! Here in Buenos Aires she is a style icon!
Scott, u should come to take pictures to Sau Paulo and Buenos Aires.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:45 PM) :

bohemian summer style!
irina looks amazing.

i like milaglos's simple style too.

both look like a sweet couple who enjoy summer vacation;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

They are just so beautiful! I especially love the blue and purple dress, it's really really compliments the girl on the right I think.

Blogger Sophie said ... (9:38 AM) :

this is such a cute photo!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:41 AM) :

Once again - mean's toppers on women. It's always a great look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:16 PM) :

If i'm not mistaken, the blonde model is an Argentine girl, who's just 16 years old,
and she's just GORGEOUS,
you should research the photos from when she was 14, when she started, she was so different!

Blogger JO said ... (2:24 PM) :

I WANT THAT DRESS! Lovely!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:23 PM) :

the dress is really stunning. I do love it. Mango you say? hmm... methinks i must make a trip there! but i'm not feeling the hat with it though. Although i second the comment about the blue band colour setting off the tones in the dress. that in itself is a wonderful pairing. If it was a headscarf instead i would probably like it more though.
great shot, Sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:08 PM) :

Irina always looks amazing. Could she be the next Kate Moss? Milagros amazig as well. Love her style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:12 AM) :

I bought that dress. You can find it in Mango (a Spanish retail shop similar to Zara) and it costs 50 euros. There are Mango all over the world, check their website

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:07 AM) :

This is perhaps one of your best shots yet. Natural, sunny and that special sarto-quirkiness. Perfect!

Blogger la femme said ... (3:57 PM) :

happy photo :)

Blogger laura said ... (12:45 AM) :

I love the hats and that dress but can't figure out if that's a scarf or her blankie.

Blogger Sam Aldenton said ... (2:36 AM) :

I am definitely making this scarf for winter. It looks so easy to make!!

Thanks Sartorialist

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:00 PM) :

Girls in real hats at last. Now how about something different, perhaps a bowler or a topper. Now that would be exciting.

Milagros is absolutely beautiful. So stylish!
And I think Irina is kind of boring but sexy. If you come to Buenos Aires you can find girls wearing those kind of dresses everywhere.
